In a previous work we have introduced an intramolecular induction correction model. In this work we have used the model to calculate the total dipol moment of six molecules as a function of two or three dihedral angles that are simultaneously varied in the molecules. It is found that the induction model behaves very well for the systems studied when compared with a regular force field model where fixed charges and dipoles are rotated along with the atoms of the molecules. This suggests that the proposed induction correction model can be used to model systems containing several dihedral angles around which rotations are performed. 相似文献

The extent to which context influences speech categorization can inform theories of pre-lexical speech perception. Across three conditions, listeners categorized speech targets preceded by speech context syllables. These syllables were presented as the sole context or paired with nonspeech tone contexts previously shown to affect speech categorization. Listeners' context-dependent categorization across these conditions provides evidence that speech and nonspeech context stimuli jointly influence speech processing. Specifically, when the spectral characteristics of speech and nonspeech context stimuli are mismatched such that they are expected to produce opposing effects on speech categorization the influence of nonspeech contexts may undermine, or even reverse, the expected effect of adjacent speech context. Likewise, when spectrally matched, the cross-class contexts may collaborate to increase effects of context. Similar effects are observed even when natural speech syllables, matched in source to the speech categorization targets, serve as the speech contexts. Results are well-predicted by spectral characteristics of the context stimuli. 相似文献

The infrared spectra of solid hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and deuterium sulfide (D2S) were collected at very low temperatures. Vapor deposition of thin films at the lowest temperature of 10 K produced amorphous solids while deposition at 70 K yielded the crystalline phase III. Infrared interference fringe patterns produced by the films during deposition were used to determine the film thickness. Careful measurement of the integrated absorbance peaks, along with the film thickness, allowed determination of the integrated band intensities. This report represents the first complete presentation of the infrared spectra of the amorphous solids. Observations of peaks near 3.915 and 1.982 microm (ca. 2554 and 5045 cm(-1), respectively) may be helpful in the conclusive identification of solid hydrogen sulfide on the surface of Io, a moon of Jupiter. 相似文献

We present magnetic properties of hollow and solid CoFe(2)O(4) nanoparticles that were obtained by annealing of Co(33)Fe(67)/CoFe(2)O(4) (core/shell) nanoparticles. Hollow nanoparticles were polycrystalline whereas the solid nanoparticles were mostly single crystal. Electronic structure studies were performed by photoemission which revealed that particles with hollow morphology have a higher degree of inversion compared to solid nanoparticles and the bulk counterpart. Electronic structure and the magnetic measurements show that particles have uncompensated spins. Quantitative comparison of saturation magnetization (M(S )), assuming bulk Néel type spin structure with cationic distribution, calculated from quantitative XPS analysis, is presented. The thickness of uncompensated spins is calculated to be significantly large for particles with hollow morphology compared to solid nanoparticles. Both morphologies show a lack of saturation up to 7 T. Moreover magnetic irreversibility exists up to 7 T of cooling fields for the entire temperature range (10-300 K). These effects are due to the large bulk anisotropy constant of CoFe(2)O(4) which is the highest among the cubic spinel ferrites. The effect of the uncompensated spins for hollow nanoparticles was investigated by cooling the sample in large fields of up to 9 T. The magnitude of horizontal shift resulting from the unidirectional anisotropy was more than three times larger than that of solid nanoparticles. As an indication signature of uncompensated spin structure, 11% vertical shift for hollow nanoparticles is observed, whereas solid nanoparticles do not show a similar shift. Deconvolution of the hysteresis response recorded at 300 K reveals the presence of a significant paramagnetic component for particles with hollow morphology which further confirms enhanced spin disorder. 相似文献

We present precision Penning trap mass measurements of neutron-rich calcium and potassium isotopes in the vicinity of neutron number N=32. Using the TITAN system, the mass of ^{51}K was measured for the first time, and the precision of the ^{51,52}Ca mass values were improved significantly. The new mass values show a dramatic increase of the binding energy compared to those reported in the atomic mass evaluation. In particular, ^{52}Ca is more bound by 1.74?MeV, and the behavior with neutron number deviates substantially from the tabulated values. An increased binding was predicted recently based on calculations that include three-nucleon (3N) forces. We present a comparison to improved calculations, which agree remarkably with the evolution of masses with neutron number, making neutron-rich calcium isotopes an exciting region to probe 3N forces. 相似文献
