We report on a search for charmless hadronic B decays to the three-body final states K(0)(S)h(+)pi(-), K(+)h(-)pi(0), K(0)(S)h(+)pi(0) (h(+/-) denotes a charged pion or kaon), and their charge conjugates, using 13.5 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity produced near sqrt[s]=10.6 GeV, and collected with the CLEO detector. We observe the decay B-->K0pi(+)pi(-) with a branching fraction (50(+10)(-9)(stat.)+/-7(syst.))x10(-6) and the decay B-->K(*+)(892)pi(-) with a branching fraction (16(+6)(-5)(stat.)+/-2(syst.))x10(-6).  相似文献

A high statistics measurement of the Lambda(+)(c) lifetime from the Fermilab fixed-target FOCUS photoproduction experiment is presented. We describe the analysis technique with particular attention to the determination of the systematic uncertainty. The measured value of 204.6 +/- 3.4 (stat) +/- 2.5 (syst) fs from 8034 +/- 122 Lambda(+)(c)-->pK(-)pi(+) decays represents a significant improvement over the present world average.  相似文献

A new three-dimensional magic angle spinning (MAS) experiment is proposed, based on a combination of the two-dimensional rotor-synchronized MAS experiment of Spiess and co-workers and a new chemical shift anisotropy amplification method. Quasicrystals and related approximant phases in Mg-Zn-Y   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
As-cast microstructure of Mg-rich Mg(68)Zn(28)Y(4) has been investigated by a detailed transmission electron microscopy study. The as-cast Mg(68)Zn(28)Y(4) alloy consisted of three different types of phases: 10-20 m size primary solidification phase, dendritic phase grown from the primary phase and a eutectic structure formed at the later stage of solidification. The primary solidification phase has an icosahedral structure with a large degree of phason strain. 1/1 rhombohedral approximant phase with lattice parameters a=27.2 A and =63.43 degrees is first observed in Mg-Zn-Y system. The rhombohedral structure can be obtained by introducing phason strain in the six-dimensional face centered hyper-cubic lattice. The decagonal phase nucleates with orientation relationship with the icosahedral phase, and Mg(4)Zn(7) nucleates with orientation relationship with the decagonal phase, indicating a close structural similarity between the three phases. Gradual depletion of Y during solidification plays an important role in heterogeneous nucleation of decagonal and Mg(4)Zn(7) phases from icosahedral and decagonal phases, respectively.  相似文献

We demonstrate a two-step lateral tapered 1.55-/spl mu/m spot-size converter distributed feedback laser diode (SSC DFB LD) having slope efficiencies as high as 0.457 and 0.319 mW/mA measured at 25 /spl deg/C and 85 /spl deg/C, respectively. The SSC DFB LD fabricated by using a nonselective grating process has a double core waveguide structure including a planar buried heterostructure type active waveguide and a ridge type passive waveguide. The fabricated SSC DFB LD operates at 1.553-/spl mu/m wavelength and shows a far-field pattern in horizontal and vertical directions of 7.3/spl deg/ and 11.6/spl deg/, respectively.  相似文献

The WindSat microwave polarimetric radiometer consists of 22 channels of polarized brightness temperatures operating at five frequencies: 6.8, 10.7, 18.7, 23.8, and 37.0 GHz. The 10.7-, 18.7-, and 37.0-GHz channels are fully polarimetric (vertical/horizontal, /spl plusmn/45/spl deg/ and left-hand and right-hand circularly polarized) to measure the four Stokes radiometric parameters. The principal objective of this Naval Research Laboratory experiment, which flys on the USAF Coriolis satellite, is to provide the proof of concept of the first passive measurement of ocean surface wind vector from space. This paper presents details of the on-orbit absolute radiometric calibration procedure, which was performed during of a series of satellite pitch maneuvers. During these special tests, the satellite pitch was slowly ramped to +45/spl deg/ (and -45/spl deg/), which caused the WindSat conical spinning antenna to view deep space during the forward (or aft portion) of the azimuth scan. When viewing the homogeneous and isotropic brightness of space (2.73 K) through both the main reflector and the cold-load calibration reflector, it is possible to determine the absolute calibration of the individual channels and the relative calibration bias between polarimetric channels. Results demonstrate consistent and stable channel calibrations (with very small brightness biases) that exceed the mission radiometric calibration requirements.  相似文献

Synthetic strategies for constructing novel achiral cyclobutanoid isoxazolidinoimidazolidinedione heterocycles, with a generalized structure of II, have been developed via 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition and carbanilide cyclization transformations from methylenecyclobutane 13. The exo methylene cyclobutane system has made the realization of some diasteroselectivity possible, such that the H-bond (Boc-NH) directed product (i.e., 14) was obtained with 3:1 selectivity relative to the non-H-bond directed product (i.e., 15).  相似文献

A process of making a new type of silicon depth-probe microelectrode array is described using a combination of plasma and wet etch. The plasma etch, which is done using a low temperature oxide (LTO) mask, enables probe thickness to be controlled over a range from 5 to 90 mu. Bending tests show that the probe's mechanical strength depends largely on shank thickness. More force can be applied to thicker shanks while thinner shanks are more flexible. One can then choose a thickness and corresponding mechanical strength using the process developed. The entire probe shaping process is performed only at low temperature, and thus is consistent with the standard CMOS fabrication. Using the probe in recording from rat's somatosensory cortex, we obtained four channel simultaneous recordings which showed clear independence among channels with a signal-to-noise ratio performance comparable with that obtained using other devices.  相似文献

The ras, is a G-like protein that controls the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway involved in control and differentiation of cell growth. MAPK is a key component of its signaling pathway and the aberrant activation may play an important role in the transformation process. To better understand roles of ras in the activation of MAPKs, we have established ras transformed NIH3T3 fibroblast cell line, and analyzed the MAPK module. The ras transformed cells formed numerous spikes at the edges of cells and showed loss of contact inhibition. The levels of ERK1/2 MAPKs as revealed by Western blot analysis were not significantly different between ras transformed and non-transformed cells. However, phosphorylation of ERK MAPKs and the level of MEK were significantly increased although the heavily expressed level of Raf-1, an upstream component of MAPK pathway was unchanged in ras transformed NIH3T3 cells. The sedimentation profile of the MAPK module kinases in a glycerol gradient showed the presence of a rather homogeneous species of multimeric forms of ERK1/2 and MEK as indicated by the narrow distribution peak areas. The broad sedimentation profile of the Raf-1 in a glycerol gradient may suggest possible heterologous protein complexes but the identification of interacting molecules still remains to be identified in order to understand the organization of the MAPK signal transduction pathway.  相似文献

A homogeneous assay, based on electrospray mass spectrometry, is described for identifying compounds in a combinatorial library that covalently modify a protein and thereby enhance its solubility. The technique is based on measuring the distribution of modified proteins in the supernatant versus aggregate. Compounds having the greatest anti-aggregatory activity are those with the highest supernatant/aggregate ratio. Mass is used as a marker to identify which covalent modifier in the library is involved. An exploratory study is presented which demonstrates that the antisickling activity of a family of isothiocyanates, as measured by the standard C(sat) assay, correlates well (r(2) = 0.98) with the mass spectrometry analysis of the supernatant/aggregate distribution. The technique has potential for screening libraries capable of covalently modifying other proteins of clinical interest, e.g., Alzheimer's, Huntington's, and various prion related diseases.  相似文献
