The single-polysilicon non-self-aligned bipolar transistor in a 0.5-μm BiCMOS technology has been converted into a double-polysilicon emitter-base self-aligned bipolar transistor with little increase in process complexity. Improved bipolar performance in the form of smaller base resistance and base-collector capacitance, larger knee current, higher peak cutoff frequency, and shorter ECL gate delay has been demonstrated. This technology will prove useful in meeting the requirements for higher performance in fast, high-density, SRAM circuits  相似文献

Magnetic targeting of drugs to diseased tissues, such as non-healing wounds or skin tumors, is a promising clinical use of magnetic microspheres. For successful magnetic targeting, a magnet must be placed in close proximity to the target tissue. In this work the forces exerted on magnetic microspheres by different arrangements of magnets including a simple square magnet, a number of button magnet arrays, and a Halbach array were simulated and compared. Magnetic bandages utilizing a Halbach array configuration were found to yield the best trapping characteristics (large and uniform force distributions) for magnetic targeting applications close to a surface.  相似文献

The thermal conductivity kappa of the layered s-wave superconductor NbSe2 was measured down to T(c)/100 throughout the vortex state. With increasing field, we identify two regimes: one with localized states at fields very near H(c1) and one with highly delocalized quasiparticle excitations at higher fields. The two associated length scales are naturally explained as multiband superconductivity, with distinct small and large superconducting gaps on different sheets of the Fermi surface. This behavior is compared to that of the multiband superconductor MgB2 and the conventional superconductor V3Si.  相似文献

Exposure to a power-frequency magnetic field has been reported to produce a statistically significant inhibition of gap junctional communication (GJC) in Clone 9 cells that have been pre-stressed by treatment with low concentrations of chloral hydrate (CH) [C.F. Blackman, J.P. Blanchard, S.G. Benane, D.E. House, J.A. Elder, Double blind test of magnetic field effects on neurite outgrowth, Bioelectromagnetics, 19 (1998) 204-209]. This observation might provide mechanistic insight into the possible role of electromagnetic fields (EMFs) in the carcinogenic process, since cancer cells frequently show decreased or absent GJC, and tumor promoting chemicals have been observed to inhibit GJC. Magnetic field exposure conditions were 45 Hz, 23.8 microT rms + parallel DC 36.6 microT, for 30 min of exposure. The responses of Clone 9 cells to the GJC-inhibiting effects of the tumor promoter 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol 13-acetate and the chemical CH were evaluated and compared to reported results [S.G. Benane, C.F. Blackman, D.E. House, Effects of perchloroethylene and its metabolites on intercellular communication in Clone 9 rat liver cells, J. Toxicol. Environ. Health, 48 (1996) 427-437]. Before magnetic field exposure, cells were exposed for 24 h to either 3 (nine experiments) or 5 mM (11 experiments) CH to produce GJC of 67% or 50%, respectively, relative to unexposed controls. GJC was assessed microscopically using the scrape-loading technique and a blinded protocol. No statistically significant effect was observed due to magnetic field exposure with either CH concentration.  相似文献

We report a study of the magnetization density in the mixed state of the unconventional superconductor Sr2RuO4. On entering the superconducting state we find no change in the magnitude or distribution of the induced moment for a magnetic field of 1 T applied within the Ru O2 planes. Our results are consistent with a spin-triplet Cooper pairing with spins lying in the basal plane. This is in contrast with similar experiments performed on conventional and high- T(c) superconductors.  相似文献

The role distinctive features played in the identification of 21 dichotically presented syllable initial English consonants was evaluated. Results were analyzed for the entire stimulus set and for various intra- and inter-manner class comparisons. Consistent with previous dichotic studies of stops alone, stops as a subgroup showed a large right ear advantage, a high incidence of blend errors, and greater accuracy in identification when the competing stimuli contrasted on one (rather than two) distinctive features. Results for manner classes other than stops, for inter-manner comparisons and for the total stimulus set indicated increased correct identification with increasing numbers of distinctive feature differences between the two syllables. Analysis of error patterns revealed that, in addition to the stops, continuants, and stop-continuant, stop-affricate, and stop-nasal pairs revealed significant numbers of blend errors. Error responses also showed a tendency for unmarked feature specifications to predominate significantly over marked feature specifications. Finally, the magnitude of the right ear advantage varied significantly as a function of manner class, but not as a function of number of feature contrasts.  相似文献
