Many high quality products are produced in a batch wise manner. One of the characteristics of a batch process is the recipe driven nature. By repeating the recipe in an identical manner a desired end-product is obtained. However, in spite of repeating the recipe in an identical manner, process differences occur. These differences can be caused by a change of feed stock supplier or impurities in the process. Because of this, differences might occur in the end-product quality or unsafe process situations arise. Therefore, the need to monitor an industrial batch process exists. An industrial process is usually monitored by process measurements such as pressures and temperatures. Nowadays, due to technical developments, spectroscopy is more and more used for process monitoring. Spectroscopic measurements have the advantage of giving a direct chemical insight in the process. Multivariate statistical process control (MSPC) is a statistical way of monitoring the behaviour of a process. Combining spectroscopic measurements with MSPC will notice process perturbations or process deviations from normal operating conditions in a very simple manner. In the following an application is given of batch process monitoring. It is shown how a calibration model is developed and used with the principles of MSPC. Statistical control charts are developed and used to detect batches with a process upset. 相似文献

An efficient solid-phase synthesis of mono-N-substituted piperazines is presented. The key transformation involves a selective borane amide bond reduction in the presence of a carbamate resin linkage. This synthetic route takes advantage of the large diverse pool of commercially available carboxylic acids, acid chlorides, and sulfonyl chlorides. The solid-phase approach facilitates parallel processing by eliminating the need for column chromatography after each synthetic step. The N-monosubstituted piperazines were shown to react with polymeric activated tetrafluorophenol (TFP) reagents to generate arrays of amides and sulfonamides in good purity for biological testing. 相似文献

The influence of magnetic (S=1) and nonmagnetic (S=0) impurities on the spin dynamics of an optimally doped high temperature superconductor is compared in YBa2(Cu0.97Ni0.03)3O7 (Tc=80 K) and YBa2(Cu0.99Zn0.01)3O7 (Tc=78 K). In the Ni-substituted system, the magnetic resonance peak (which is observed at Er approximately 40 meV in the pure system) shifts to lower energy with a preserved Er/Tc ratio while the shift is much smaller upon Zn substitution. By contrast Zn, but not Ni, restores significant spin fluctuations around 40 meV in the normal state. These observations are discussed in the light of models proposed for the magnetic resonance peak. 相似文献

A light-element radioactive ion-beam capability has been developed at the LBNL 88-Inch Cyclotron. The system is based on the coupled-cyclotrons method and utilizes short-lived species, e.g., 11C, 14O, 13N produced by (p,n) and (p,alpha) reactions at the LBNL Biomedical Isotope Facility Cyclotron. In a first experiment, 197Au(11C,xn)208-xAt excitation functions have been measured for energies ranging from the Coulomb barrier up to 110 MeV using a beam of 11C with intensities up to (1-2)x10(8) ions/sec on target. This work presents the development of an on-line pre-concentration system for simultaneous determination of Cd, Cu, Ni, V, Zn, Co and Pb in aqueous environmental samples and detection by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. The system is based on cationic retention of the analytes onto a mini-column filled with silica gel modified with niobium(V) oxide. The effects of chemicals and flow variables have been investigated. The optimized operating conditions, selected as a compromise between sensitivity and analytical frequency were: sample pH 7.0, sample flow rate of 6.0mL min(-1), eluent flow rate of 2.0mL min(-1), and eluent (HNO(3)) concentration of 2.5mol L(-1). The relative standard deviation (n=7), enrichment factor and linear working range were 0.8-4.5%, 23.3-37.2 and 0.05-25.0microg L(-1), respectively. Limits of detection were between 0.01 and 0.03microg L(-1). The accuracy of the proposed method was checked with certified materials (NASS-4, NASS-5, CASS-4 and SRM 1643e). Values obtained were in accordance with those reported for the certified materials. Recovery was found to be in the range of 90-110% for a suit of water samples with variable matrices (seawater, tap water and ground water) collected in Florianopolis, Brazil. 相似文献

An on-line preconcentration system for zinc determination in 24-h urine, blood plasma and erythrocyte matrices by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) was used. This procedure was based on adsorption of Zn(II) ions onto a minicolumn filled with silica gel, chemically modified with niobium(V) oxide (Nb2O5-SiO2). The determination of the optimum conditions for Zn(II) preconcentration was done using two-level full factorial and Doehlert designs. In the optimization procedure, four variables (sample pH, eluent concentration, sample flow rate and eluent flow rate) were investigated. The results obtained from the full factorial design demonstrated that the sample pH and sample flow rate variables, and their interactions, were statistically significant. A Doehlert matrix was used in order to determine the optimum conditions for the sample pH and sample flow rate. The optimized conditions for sample pH and flow rate sampling were 6.6 and 7.1 ml min−1, respectively, to obtain the maximum Zn(II) preconcentration and determination in the biological samples studied. Parameters of analytical curve, precision, effect of other ions in the proposed system and accuracy were achieved to assess the proposed method. The accuracy was confirmed by analysis of certified reference materials (urine Seronorm™ Trace Elements) and recovery tests in blood plasma and erythrocyte samples. Detection limit (3σ/S) of 0.77 μg l−1, precision (calculated as relative standard deviation) of 1.5% for Zn(II) concentration of 10 μg l−1 (n = 7) and a sampling frequency of 27 samples/h were obtained from the proposed system. 相似文献

Neutral anion energy differences for a large class of alpha-substituted silyl radicals have been computed to determine the effect of alkyl, silyl, and halo substituents on their electron affinities. In particular, we report theoretical predictions of the adiabatic electron affinities (AEAs), vertical electron affinities (VEAs), and vertical detachment energies (VDEs) for a series of methyl-, silyl-, and halo-substituted silyl radical compounds. This work utilizes the carefully calibrated DZP++ basis set, in conjunction with the pure BLYP and OLYP functionals, as well as with the hybrid B3LYP, BHLYP, PBE1PBE, MPW1K, and O3LYP functionals. Bromine has the largest effect in stabilizing the anions, and the BLYP/DZP++ AEA for SiBr(3) is 3.29 eV. The other predicted electron affinities are for SiH(3) (1.37 eV), SiH(2)CH(3) (1.09 eV), SiH(2)F (1.54 eV), SiH(2)Cl (1.94 eV), SiH(2)Br (2.05 eV), SiH(2)(SiH(3)) (1.77 eV), SiH(CH(3))(2) (0.92 eV), SiHF(2) (1.86 eV), SiHCl(2) (2.53 eV), SiHBr(2) (2.67 eV), Si(CH(3))(3) (0.86 eV), SiF(3) (2.66 eV), SiCl(3) (3.21 eV), Si(SiH(3))(3) (2.25 eV), and SiFClBr (3.13 eV). For the five silyl radicals where experimental data are available, the BLYP functional gives the most accurate determination of AEAs; the average absolute error is 0.04(1) eV, whereas the corresponding errors for the O3LYP, MPW1K, PBE1PBE, B3LYP, OLYP, and BHLYP functionals are 0.05(8), 0.06(0), 0.06(3), 0.08(5), 0.11(5), and 0.15(3) eV, respectively. 相似文献

Molecular structures, energetics, vibrational frequencies, and electron affinities are predicted for the phenylethynyl radical and its isomers. Electron affinities are computed using density functional theory, -namely, the BHLYP, BLYP, B3LYP, BP86, BPW91, and B3PW91 functionals-, employing the double-zeta plus polarization DZP++ basis set; this level of theory is known to perform well for the computation of electron affinities. Furthermore, ab initio computations employing perturbation theory, coupled cluster with single and double excitations [CCSD], and the inclusion of perturbative triples [CCSD(T)] are performed to determine the relative energies of the isomers. These higher level computations are performed with the correlation consistent family of basis sets cc-pVXZ (X = D, T, Q, 5). Three electronic states are probed for the phenylethynyl radical. In C2v symmetry, the out-of-plane (2B1) radical is predicted to lie about 10 kcal/mol below the in-plane (2B2) radical by DFT methods, which becomes 9.4 kcal/mol with the consideration of the CCSD(T) method. The energy difference between the lowest pi and sigma electronic states of the phenylethynyl radical is also about 10 kcal/mol according to DFT; however, CCSD(T) with the cc-pVQZ basis set shows this energy separation to be just 1.8 kcal/mol. The theoretical electron affinities of the phenylethynyl radical are predicted to be 3.00 eV (B3LYP/DZP++) and 3.03 eV (CCSD(T)/DZP++//MP2/DZP++). The adiabatic electron affinities (EAad) of the three isomers of phenylethynyl, that is, the ortho-, meta-, and para-ethynylphenyl, are predicted to be 1.45, 1.40, and 1.43 eV, respectively. Hence, the phenylethynyl radical binds an electron far more effectively than the three other radicals studied. Thermochemical predictions, such as the bond dissociation energies of the aromatic and ethynyl C-H bonds and the proton affinities of the phenylethynyl and ethynylphenyl anions, are also reported. 相似文献
