In this work, we have used the MuMax3 software to simulate devices consisting of a ferromagnetic thin film placed over a heavy metal thin film. The devices are two interconnected partial-disks where a Néel domain wall is formed in the disks junction. In our simulations we investigate devices with disk radius nm and different distance d between the disks centers (from nm to nm). By applying strong sinusoidal external magnetic fields, we find a mechanism able to create, annihilate and even manipulate a skyrmion in each side of the device. This mechanism is discussed in terms of interactions between skyrmion and domain wall. The Néel domain wall formed in the center of the device interacts with the Néel skyrmion, leading to a process of transporting a skyrmion from one disk to the other periodically. Our results have relevance for potential applications in spintronics such as logical devices. 相似文献

In view of immense importance of silylenes and the fact that their properties undergo significant changes on substitution with halogens, here, we have used B3LYP/6-311++G** level of theory to access the effects of 1–4 halogens (X = F, Cl, Br, and I) on four unprecedented sets of cyclopentasilylene-2,4-dienes; with the following formulas: SiC4H3X ( 1 X ), SiC4H2X2 ( 2 X ), SiC4HX3 ( 3 X ), and SiC4X4 ( 4 X ). In going down from F to I, the singlet (s)-triplet (t) energy gap (ΔEs-t, a possible indication of stability), and band gap (ΔEH-L) decrease while nucleophilicity (N), chemical potential (μ), and proton affinity (PA) increase. The overall order of N, μ, and PA for each X is 2 X > 1 X > 3 X > 4 X . Precedence of 2 X over 1 X is attributed to the symmetric cross conjugation in the former. The highest and lowest N are shown by 2 I and 4 F . The trend of divalent angle () for each X is 4 X > 1 X > 3 X > 2 X . The results show that in going from electron withdrawing groups (EWGs) to electron donating groups (EDGs), the ΔEs-t and ΔEH-L decrease while N, μ, and PA increase. Also, rather high N of our scrutinized silylenes may suggest new promising ligands in organometallic chemistry. 相似文献

In this paper we investigated the BER performance of DS-CDMA using various chip-waveforms, which include three time-limited chip-waveforms and two band-limited chip-waveforms. Closed-form formulae were derived for evaluating the achievable bit-error rate performance with the aid of the standard Gaussian approximation, when communicating over a Nakagami-m channel. The time-limited waveforms impose a low implementational complexity, since they maybe over sampled and read from a look-up table. This paper addresses the impact of device macromodels on the accuracy of signal integrity and performance predictions for critical digital interconnecting systems. It exploits nonlinear parametric models for both single-ended and differential devices, including the effects of power supply fluctuations and receiver bit detection. We present PowerNap, an OS power management scheme, which can significantly improve the battery life of mobile devices. The key feature of PowerNap is the skipping of the periodic system timer ticks associated with the operating system. On an idle device, this modification increases the time between successive timer interrupts and enables us to put the processor/system into a more efficient low power state. This saves the energy consumed by workless timer interrupts and the excess energy consumed by the processor in less efficient low power states. PowerNap is tightly integrated with the kernel and is designed for optimal control of the latency and energy associated with transitioning in and out of the low power states. We describe an implementation of PowerNap and its impact on system software. Experiments with IBM's WatchPad verify the ability of PowerNap to extend battery life. An analytical model that quantifies the ability of the scheme to reduce power is also presented. The model is in good agreement with experimental results. We apply the model to small form-factor devices which use processors that have a PowerDown state. In such devices, PowerNap may extend battery life by more than 42 percent for small processor workloads and for background power levels below 10 mW. 相似文献

This paper seeks to explore a method to accurately correct geometric distortions caused during the capture of three-dimensional (3-D) integral images. Such distortions are rotational and scaling errors which, if not corrected, will cause banding and moire effects on the replayed image. The method for calculating the angle of deviation in the 3-D Integral Images is based on Hough Transform. It allows detection of the angle necessary for correction of the rotational error. Frequency Insertion Strategy for Channel Assignment Problem 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
This paper presents a new heuristic method for quickly finding a good feasible solution to the channel assignment problem
(CAP). Like many other greedy-type heuristics for CAP, the proposed method also assigns a frequency to a call, one at a time.
Hence, the method requires computational time that increases only linear to the number of calls. However, what distinguishes
the method from others is that it starts with a narrow enough frequency band so as to provoke violations of constraints that
we need to comply with in order to avoid radio interference. Each violation is then resolved by inserting frequencies at the
most appropriate positions so that the band of frequencies expands minimally. An extensive computational experiment using
a set of randomly generated problems as well as the Philadelphia benchmark instances shows that the proposed method perform
statistically better than existing methods of its kind and even yields optimum solutions to most of Philadelphia benchmark
instances among which two cases are reported for the first time ever, in this paper.
Won-Young Shin was born in Busan, Korea in 1978. He received B.S. in industrial engineering from Pohang University of Science and Technology
(POSTECH) in 2001 and M.S in operation research and applied statistics from POSTECH in 2003. Since 2003 he has been a researcher
of Agency for Defense Development (ADD) in Korea. He is interested in optimization of communication system and applied statistics.
Soo Y. Chang is an associate professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH),
Pohang, Korea. He teaches linear programming, discrete optimization, network flows and operations research courses. His research
interests include mathematical programming and scheduling. He has published in several journals including Discrete Applied
Mathematics, Computers and Mathematics with Application, IIE Transactions, International Journal of Production Research, and
so on. He is a member of Korean IIE, and ORMSS.
Jaewook Lee is an assistant professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH),
Pohang, Korea. He received the B.S. degree in mathematics with honors from Seoul National University, and the Ph.D. degree
from Cornell University in applied mathematics in 1993 and 1999, respectively. He is currently an assistant professor in the
department of industrial engineering at the Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH). His research interests
include nonlinear systems, neural networks, nonlinear optimization, and their applications to data mining and financial engineering.
Chi-Hyuck Jun was born in Seoul, Korea in 1954. He received B.S. in mineral and petroleum engineering from Seoul National University in
1977, M.S. in industrial engineering from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology in 1979 and Ph.D. in operations
research from University of California, Berkeley, in 1986. Since 1987 he has been with the department of industrial engineering,
Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) and he is now a professor and the department head. He is interested
in performance analysis of communication and production systems. He has published in several journals including IIE Transactions,
IEEE Transactions, Queueing Systems and Chemometrics and Intelligent Laboratory Systems. He is a member of IEEE, INFORMS and
