Single-channel waveguides and Y couplers were fabricated in chalcogenide thin films by use of femtosecond laser pulses from a 25-MHz repetition rate Ti:sapphire laser. Refractive-index differentials (delta n > 10(-2)) were measured through interferometric microscopy and are higher than the typical values reported for oxide glasses. The dependence of the index differential on the peak intensity reveals the nonlinear nature of the photosensitivity in arsenic trisulfide below its bandgap energy, and the refractive-index change is correlated to the photoinduced structural changes inferred by Raman spectroscopy data. A free-electron model to predict the parametric dependence of delta n is proposed.  相似文献

An experimental system has been assembled to measure the absolute values of the Raman gain spectrum for millimeter-thick glass samples. The crystal structure of the title compound, C19H16N2O2, displays a trans configuration of the azo moiety, which forms an intramolecular O—H?N=N hydrogen bond. The direct monitoring of reaction progress on solid supports by fluorescence spectroscopy is described. An immobilized fluorescent tracer molecule (dansyl chloride) is used to monitor the reaction on OH resins (Argopore Wang, PS Wang, and Argogel Wang), both in batch and in parallel chemistry. Fluorescence measurements were obtained directly on solid phase. The method demonstrated to be a valuable tool for the quantitative determination of resin-bound hydroxyl groups, to study reaction kinetics and for continuously monitoring the progress of the conversion of the hydroxyl resins into the chlorinated ones. The procedure proposed is highly sensitive compared to the traditional ones. The system can be extended to monitor a variety of reactions on solid supports, and in conjunction with a well-established technique such as flow analysis, basic studies on solid-phase become possible.  相似文献

A solid-phase microextraction (SPME) method for the ultra-trace determination of brominated phenols in aqueous samples has been developed and is reported for the first time to the best of our knowledge. 3,5,3',5'-tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA), the most widely used brominated flame retardant, and other phenolic flame retardants in commercial use, such as 2,4-dibromophenol (2,4-DBP), 2,4,6-tribromophenol (TBP) and pentabromophenol (PBP) have been included as target analytes. The analytical procedure involves the in situ acetylation-SPME and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) determination of the target analytes. A multi-factor categorical experimental design was created to study the main parameters affecting the extraction efficiency, allowing also the evaluation of interaction effects between factors. The factors studied were type of fiber, extraction mode, exposing the fiber directly into the sample (DSPME) or into the headspace over the sample (HSSPME), and extraction temperature. Carboxen-polydimethylsiloxane (CAR-PDMS) fiber appeared to be the most suitable of the five fibers tested for the extraction of most compounds, excluding PBP and TBBPA for which polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) was the most efficient coating. The highest response was achieved for both fibers sampling in headspace mode at 100 degrees C. In order to test the linearity of the method, calibration studies were performed with both CAR-PDMS and PDMS coatings. For both fibers, the method was linear in a range of 2 orders of magnitude, giving relative standard deviation (RSD%) below 10% for most compounds and detection limits at the low pg/mL level. In addition, the feasibility of the method for simultaneous determination of chlorinated and brominated phenols was studied. Finally, the method was applied to several real samples including tap water and effluent and influent waste water samples from an urban treatment plant, in which several phenolic compounds, such as phenol, methylphenols and chlorophenols, could be detected and quantified.  相似文献

In this study, conditions for the ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) of soluble polyphenols from Psidium cattleianum (PC) leaves were optimized using response surface methodology (RSM) by assessing the effect of extraction time (XET = 2, 4, and 6 min), sonication amplitude (XSA = 60, 80, and 100%), and pulse cycle (XPC = 0.4, 0.7, and 1 s). Furthermore, the optimized UAE conditions were compared with a conventional aqueous–organic extraction (AOE) method for extracting total phenolics; moreover, a phenolic profile using HPLC and antioxidant activity (DPPH, ABTS, and FRAP) were also compared. According to the RSM, the best conditions for UAE to extract the highest soluble polyphenol content and yield (158.18 mg/g dry matter [DM] and 15.81%) include a 100% sonication amplitude for 4 min at 0.6 s of pulse cycle. The optimal UAE conditions exhibited an effectiveness of 1.71 times in comparison to the AOE method for extracting total phenolics, in 96.66% less time; moreover, PC leaf extracts by UAE showed higher antioxidant values than AOE. Additionally, gallic, protocateic, chlorogenic, caffeic, coumaric, trans-cinnamic, 4-hydroxybenzoic, and syringic acids, as well as kaempferol were identified in PC leaves under UAE. PC leaf extracts are widely used for therapeutic and other industrial purposes; thus, the UAE proves to be a useful technology with which to improve the yield extraction of PC leaf phytochemicals.  相似文献
