Aγ-γ coincidence technique has been developed forg-factor measurements of short-lived nuclear states. The method involvesγ-detection in 4π geometry as well as transient magnetic fields and the recoil-distance technique. A first experiment was performed for the isotope160Yb produced in the reaction64Ni(100Mo, 4n) at 430 MeV beam energy. The valueg=? 0.23(31) of the 14+ yrast state, which is compatible with zero, establishes thevi 13/2 quasiparticle structure to be responsible for the first backbend. A meang-factor for low spin states around the 4+ state,g=+0.48(26) was also derived as well as lifetimes for yrast states up toI π=8+.  相似文献

The fragmentation of a 550MeV/u primary beam of 58Ni on a 9Be target has been used to measure time- and energy-correlated γ decays following the implantation of event-by-event discriminated secondary fragments into a 9Be stopper plate. A new isomeric γ decay with T 1/2 = 14( ) ns and E γ = 646.2(2) keV is observed and attributed to the decay of the yrast 3/2- state in 53 27Co26 . This short-lived isomeric state has been populated by means of nuclear reactions during the stopping process of the secondary fragments. The experimental findings are discussed in the framework of large-scale spherical shell model calculations in conjunction with isospin symmetry-breaking residual interactions for the A = 53 , T z = ±1/2 mirror nuclei 53Co and 53Fe .  相似文献

We report on the first radioactive beam experiment performed at the recently commissioned REX-ISOLDE facility at CERN in conjunction with the highly efficient gamma spectrometer MINIBALL. Using 30Mg ions accelerated to an energy of 2.25 MeV/u together with a thin (nat)Ni target, Coulomb excitation of the first excited 2+ states of the projectile and target nuclei well below the Coulomb barrier was observed. From the measured relative deexcitation gamma-ray yields the B(E2;0(+)gs-->2(+)1) value of 30Mg was determined to be 241(31)e2 fm4. Our result is lower than values obtained at projectile fragmentation facilities using the intermediate-energy Coulomb excitation method, and confirms the theoretical conjecture that the neutron-rich magnesium isotope 30Mg resides outside the "island of inversion."  相似文献

One and two neutron transfer has been measured in the heaviest asymmetric nuclear system with semi magic nuclei showing superfluid properties, in 206Pb+118Sn collisions at an energy well below the Coulomb barrier with scattering orbits covering the largest angles. Particle-γ coincidence techniques using 5 Euroball-Cluster detectors (EB) combined in a set-up with the Heidelberg-Darmstadt NaI-Crystal Ball (CB) have been used. Transfer channels are identified with EB via their known γ-decays of the lowest excited states. Using the unique feature of the set-up with the CB, transfer to well defined final states with known quantum numbers (without feeding) are selected using the high efficiency multiplicity filter of the CB (no second γ-ray). The data are analysed using the semiclassical approach and transfer probabilities are obtained. The enhancement for the two-neutron transfer populating the low lying superfluid 2+ state in 120Sn (and 116Sn), while the Pb-branch is in the groundstate is deduced by comparison with the strongest single neutron transfer transition. Large enhancements (EF ≃ 103) are observed. This is the first direct measurement of enhancement for a heavy nuclear binary system with experimentally separated levels suggesting a strong contribution from superfluid pair transfer. A random walk on a graph is a Markov chain whose state space consists of the vertices of the graph and where transitions are only allowed along the edges. We study (strongly) reversible random walks and characterize the class of graphs where then-step transition probabilities tend to zero exponentially fast (geometric ergodicity). These characterizations deal with an isoperimetric property, norm inequalities for certain associated operators, and eigenvalues of the Laplace operator. There is some (strong) similarity with the theory of (non)amenable groups.  相似文献

We study the optimal learning capacity for neural networks withQ-state clock neurons, i.e. the states arecomplex numbers with magnitude 1 and azimuthal anglesn·2/Q, withn=0, 1, ...,Q–1. Performing a phase space analysis, the learning capacity c for given stability can be expressed by means of a double-integral with a simple geometrical interpretation, which for vanishing reduces to c (Q) = 4Q/(3Q–4), forQ3. Then we define a training algorithm, which generalizes the well-known AdaTron algorithm fromQ=2 toQ3 and converges very fast to the network with optimal stability, if the numberp of random patterns to be learned is smaller than c (Q). Finally, in the conclusions, we also give hints on applications for image recognition and in a note added in proof we generalize some results to Potts model networks.  相似文献

Collective properties of206,208Pb have been investigated with gamma-ray spectroscopy using nuclear and electromagnetic excitation by208Pb projectiles. From the measurement of particle-particle- and particle-particle- coincidences a new energy level in208Pb at 5.683 MeV was observed and the data suggest an interpretation as a 2-phonon octupole vibrational state with spin 4+ or 6+. For this state one finds the same dynamical deformation parameter 3 as for the first-excited collective 3 state. The results are compared to predictions of models which consider, in particular, the aspects of the quadrupole interaction and the interaction of the 2-particle pairing vibration with the 2-phonon octupole vibration. For the206Pb+208Pb system at 6.2 MeV/u the nuclear potential could be determined from the measured inelastic cross sections.Dedicated to Prof. Dr. P.
