Various beneficial properties has been attributed to Nigella sativa, including its antioxidant potential. Previously, it was reported that supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) could be used to obtain N. sativa extract rich in antioxidants. In the present study, N. sativa extracts prepared using the previously optimized SFE as well as the traditional Soxhlet extraction approaches were analyzed for various known antioxidants. N. sativa extracts were found to prevent protein carbonyl formation as well as depletion of intracellular glutathione (GSH) in fibroblasts exposed to toluene. Furthermore, partially purified SFE and Soxhlet fractions could prevent loss of hepatic GSH in toluene-induced oxidative stressed Wistar rats as well as in L929 fibroblasts. The results showed that SFE-produced N. sativa extract is richer in antioxidants than the Soxhlet approach. It was also shown using preparative silica gel and reverse phase chromatography that different fractions of SFE-extracted or Soxhlet-extracted N. sativa had different levels of protective effects with regards to GSH depletion in vivo as well as in cell culture. Although fractions rich in thymoquinone were found to be most potent in terms of antioxidant capacity, the data indicates that the protective effects of N. sativa may not only be due to thymoquinone, but perhaps other antioxidants. 相似文献

Knoevenagel condensation of 2-(benzothiazol-2-ylthio) acetonitrile (2) with either furan-2-carbaldehyde or thiophene-2-carbaldehydes leads to E-isomers 4a-b exclusively, while the condensation of the compound 2 with benzaldehyde or para-substituted benzaldehydes with an electron-donating group afforded E/Z mixtures 4c-e with preferentially formation of the E-isomer. Condensation of furan-2-carbaldehyde (3a) with either 1-(benzothiazol-2'-ylthio) propan-2-one (5) or 2-(2'-oxo propylthio)-3-phenyl-quinazolin-4(3H)-one (9) leads exclusively to the Z-isomers of 6 and 10, respectively. Cu-doped ZnO (ZnO:Cu) thin films and ZnO/ZnO:Cu homojunction devices were electrodeposited on conductive glass substrates in a non-aqueous electrolyte containing Cu and Zn salts. The Cu content of the films is proportional to the Cu/Zn precursor ratio in the deposition electrolyte. ZnO:Cu was found to be of a hexagonal wurtzite structure with (002) preferred orientation. A transition from n-type to p-type was observed for ZnO:Cu films with a Cu/Zn ratio higher than 2% as inferred from the change in the direction of the photocurrent. The rectifying characteristics shown by homojunction devices further confirm the p-type conductivity of ZnO:Cu layers. 相似文献

(S)-5-Fluoro-2-(2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-1-yloxymethyl)-1-tosylindoline, a 2-methyleneoxy-substituted chiral indoline, was synthesized on multigram scale using an efficient copper-catalyzed enantioselective intramolecular alkene aminooxygenation. The synthesis is accomplished in four steps and the indoline is obtained in 89% ee (>98% after one recrystallization). Phase-matched third-harmonic generation is demonstrated in a germanium-doped optical fiber. Green light at 514.4 nm is generated in an LP(03) mode when a pump field at ~1543.3 nm is launched into the fiber in the fundamental LP(01) mode. ABSTRACT: A rapid and reproducible stability indicating TLC method was developed for the determination of prednisolone acetate and chloramphenicol in presence of their degraded products. Uniform degradation conditions were maintained by refluxing sixteen reaction mixtures for two hours at 80°C using parallel synthesizer including acidic, alkaline and neutral hydrolysis, oxidation and wet heating degradation. Oxidation at room temperature, photochemical and dry heating degradation studies were also carried out. Separation was done on TLC glass plates, pre-coated with silica gel 60F-254 using chloroform: methanol (14:1 v/v). Spots at Rf 0.21 ± 0.02 and Rf 0.41 ± 0.03 were recognized as chloramphenicol and prednisolone acetate, respectively. Quantitative analysis was done through densitometric measurements at multiwavelength (243 nm, λmax of prednisolone acetate and 278 nm, λmax of chloramphenicol), simultaneously. The developed method was optimized and validated as per ICH guidelines. Method was found linear over the concentration range of 200-6000 ng/spot with the correlation coefficient (r2 ± S.D.) of 0.9976 ± 3.5 and 0.9920 ± 2.5 for prednisolone acetate and chloramphenicol, respectively. The developed TLC method can be applied for routine analysis of prednisolone acetate and chloramphenicol in presence of their degraded products in their individual and combined pharmaceutical formulations. 相似文献

New immobilized biocatalysts based on polypeptides containing N- or C-terminal polyhistidine sequences and possessing organophosphorus

Cationic ring opening polymerization of epichlorohydrin (1) and acetic anhydride in the presence of Maghnite- H (Mag-H+) as a catalyst afforded, ω-diacetylated poly(epichlorohydrin) (P1) in a moderate yield and molecular weight without formation of side products and degradation. P1 was chemically modified with morpholine (2), piperidine (3) and pyrrolidine (4) into the corresponding new functional poly(epichlorohydrin)s (P2—P4) in a moderate reaction conversion . The conversion of P1 into P2—P4 was confirmed by using FTIR and NMR spectroscopy and the yield was calculated from the elemental analysis data according to the mole fraction concept. The obtained functional polymers were further characterized by thermal analysis which showed a substantial increase of the glass transition temperature (Tg). Thus, the chemical modification of α,ω-acetylated PECH using Mag-H+ offers a simple method for obtaining functional polymers. Experimental excess molar enthalpies of the ternary systems dibutyl ether (DBE) + 1-butanol + benzene and the corresponding binary systems at T = 298.15 K and T = 313.15 K at atmospheric pressure are reported. A quasi-isothermal flow calorimeter has been used to make the measurements. All the binary and the ternary systems show endothermic character. The experimental data for the binary and ternary systems have been fitted using the Redlich-Kister equation and the NRTL and UNIQUAC models. The values of the standard deviation indicate good agreement between the experimental results and those calculated from the equations. 相似文献
