A novel class of planar metamaterial unit-cells consisting of a peace logo pattern is presented. A significant advantage of the proposed peace-logo planar metamaterial (PLPM) unit-cell over existing designs is its tunability, simplicity, and compatibility with microstrip structures. The theoretical analysis is founded on the famous transmission-line theory for the metamaterial concept. Then, the tunable dual-band two-sided PLPM (TSPLPM) unit-cell is designed by printing a similar PLPM pattern at the bottom of the substrate. The influence of the bottom PLPM pattern on the resonance frequencies of the unit-cell was analyzed by performing numerical simulations using CST Microwave Studio 2017 and HFSSv15 simulators. The results of the numerical simulations demonstrated that the proposed TSPLPM has the ability to control the resonance frequencies over 50 GHz–75 GHz for millimeter-wave applications.  相似文献

The progress on sodium‐ion battery technology faces many grand challenges, one of which is the considerably lower rate of sodium insertion/deinsertion in electrode materials due to the larger size of sodium (Na) ions and complicated redox reactions compared to the lithium‐ion systems. Here, it is demonstrated that sodium ions can be reversibly stored in Zn‐Sb intermetallic nanowires at speeds that can exceed 295 nm s?1. Remarkably, these values are one to three orders of magnitude higher than the sodiation rate of other nanowires electrochemically tested with in situ transmission electron micro­scopy. It is found that the nanowires display about 161% volume expansion after the first sodiation and then cycle with an 83% reversible volume expansion. Despite their massive expansion, the nanowires can be cycled without any cracking or facture during the ultrafast sodiation/desodiation process. In addition, most of the phases involved in the sodiation/desodiation process possess high electrical conductivity. More specifically, the NaZnSb exhibits a layered structure, which provides channels for fast Na+ diffusion. This observation indicates that Zn‐Sb intermetallic nanomaterials offer great promise as high rate and good cycling stability anodic materials for the next generation of sodium‐ion batteries.  相似文献

In the high-efficiency video coding (HEVC) standard, intra prediction has higher computational complexity compared with H.264/AVC (advanced video coding) because of increasing the number of intra prediction modes and also higher number of coding unit (CU) sizes. The HEVC encoder evaluates 35 prediction modes on five possible prediction unit (PU) sizes to find the one with the minimum rate–distortion cost. Although this approach improves coding efficiency, it is very time-consuming. In this paper, we propose a fast intra prediction method to reduce the complexity of I-frame coding. The proposed method consists of three stages which is based on smoothness spatial feature. In the first stage, a measure is introduced to estimate CU smoothness by using sum of absolute differences (SAD) among CU pixels in four directions. By considering that a smooth region can be predicted with larger CUs, when the measured smoothness parameter is lower than a predefined threshold, only the prediction modes in the current CU are evaluated. In the second stage, the number of intra prediction modes is reduced based on the calculated SADs in the previous stage. In the last stage, if the first three candidate modes resulted from rough mode decision stage in the previous PU and the current PU are similar, then the best mode prediction of the previous PU is selected as the best candidate mode. Experimental results indicate that the proposed method can reduce the coding time on average to 43 % and maintain coding video quality, whereas bitrate increases negligibly (0.5 %).  相似文献

The goal of this article is to describe a unified approach based on the assumption of additive Gaussian noise and regularization theory that illustrates the flavor of such multidimensional image reconstruction problems and the associated challenges. Efficient iterative methods are described for the solution of these problems. Recent applications of game-theoretic analysis to supply chain efficiency have focused on constructs between a buyer (the retailer or manufacturer) and a seller (the supplier) in successive stages of a supply chain. If demand for the final product is stochastic then the supplier has an incentive to keep its capacity relatively low to avoid creating unneeded capacity. The manufacturer, on the other hand, prefers the supplier’s capacity to be high to ensure that the final demand is satisfied. The manufacturer therefore constructs a contract to induce the supplier to increase its production capacity. Most research examines contracting when final demand is realized after the manufacturer places its order to the supplier. However, if final demand is realized before the manufacturer places its order to the supplier, these types of contracts can be ineffective. This paper examines two contracts under the latter timing scenario: long-term contracts in which the business relationship is repeated, and penalty contracts in which the supplier is penalized for too little capacity. Results indicate long-term contracts increase the profit potential of the supply chain. Furthermore, the penalty contracts can ensure that the supplier chooses a capacity level such that the full profit potential is achieved.  相似文献
