The electrochemical reduction of benzyl thiocyanate and p-nitrobenzyl thiocyanate was investigated in acetonitrile at an inert electrode. These two compounds reveal a change in the reductive cleavage mechanism, and more interestingly, they show a clear-cut example of a regioselective bond dissociation. Both phenomena may be understood on the basis of the dissociative ET theory and its extension to the formation/dissociation reactions of radical ions. While the effect of the standard oxidation potential of the leaving group seems to be predominant in understanding the change in the ET mechanism by changing the driving force, the regioselective cleavage is dictated by changes in the intrinsic barrier related to the nature of the substituent on the aryl moiety.  相似文献

This paper describes the preparation and the characterization of a photovoltaic cell based on the sensitization of a wide band gap p-type semiconductor (NiO) with a phosphorus porphyrin. A photophysical study with femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy showed that light excitation of the phosphorus porphyrin chemisorbed on NiO particles induces a very rapid interfacial hole injection into the valence band of NiO, occurring mainly on the 2-20 ps time scale. This is followed by a recombination in which ca. 80% of the ground-state reactants are regenerated within 1 ns. A photoelectrochemical device, prepared with a nanocrystalline NiO electrode coated with the phosphorus porphyrin, yields a cathodic photocurrent indicating that electrons indeed flow from the NiO electrode toward the solution. The low incident-to-photocurrent efficiency (IPCE) can be rationalized by the rapid back recombination reaction between the reduced sensitizer and the injected hole which prevents an efficient regeneration of the sensitizer ground state from the iodide/triiodide redox mediator. To the best of our knowledge, this work represents the first example of a photovoltaic cell in which a mechanism of hole photoinjection has been characterized.  相似文献

Molecular dynamics typically incorporates a stochastic-dynamical device, a “thermostat,” in order to drive the system to the Gibbs (canonical) distribution at a prescribed temperature. When molecular dynamics is used to compute time-dependent properties, such as autocorrelation functions or diffusion constants, at a given temperature, there is a conflict between the need for the thermostat to perturb the time evolution of the system as little as possible and the need to establish equilibrium rapidly. In this article we define a quantity called the “efficiency” of a thermostat which relates the perturbation introduced by the thermostat to the rate of convergence of average kinetic energy to its equilibrium value. We show how to estimate this quantity analytically, carrying out the analysis for several thermostats, including the Nosé-Hoover-Langevin thermostat due to Samoletov et al. (J. Stat. Phys. 128:1321–1336, 2007) and a generalization of the “stochastic velocity rescaling” method suggested by Bussi et al. (J. Chem. Phys. 126:014101, 2007). We find efficiency improvements (proportional to the number of degrees of freedom) for the new schemes compared to Langevin Dynamics. Numerical experiments are presented which precisely confirm our theoretical estimates.  相似文献

N-phenyl-3-substituted-5-pyrazolone derivatives have been examined as thermal stabilizers or co-stabilizers for rigid PVC in air, at 180 °C. Their high stabilizing efficiency is detected by their high induction period values (Ts) when compared with some of the common reference stabilizers used industrially, such as dibasic lead carbonate, calcium-zinc soap and n-octyl tin mercaptide. Blending these derivatives with some of the reference stabilizers in different ratios had a synergistic effect on both the induction period and the dehydrochlorination rate.A probable mechanism for the stabilizing mode of N-phenyl-3-substituted-5-pyrazolone derivatives has been proposed. The stabilizing efficiency is attributed at least partially to the ability of the organic stabilizer to be incorporated in the polymeric chains, thus disrupting the chain degradation.  相似文献

The problem of flow and heat transfer of an electrically conducting non-Newtonian fluid over a continuously moving cylinder in the presence of a uniform magnetic field is analyzed for the case of power-law variation in the temperature and concentration at the cylinder surface. A diffusion equation with a chemical reaction source term is taken into account. The governing non-similar partial differential equation are solved numerically by employing shooting method. The effects of various parameters on the velocity, temperature and concentration profiles as well as the heat and mass transfer rate from the cylinder surface to the surrounding fluid are presented graphically and in tabulated form.  相似文献

Probabilistic two-phase flow map data is experimentally obtained for R134a at 25.0, 35.0, and 49.7°C, R410A at 25.0°C, mass fluxes from 100 to 600 kg/m2-s, qualities from 0 to1 in 8.00, 5.43, 3.90, and 1.74 mm I.D. single, smooth, adiabatic, horizontal tubes in order to extend probabilistic two-phase flow map modeling techniques to single tubes. A new web camera based flow visualization technique utilizing an illuminated diffuse striped background was used to enhance images, detect fine films, and aid in the automated image recognition process developed in the present study. This technique has an average time fraction classification error of less than 0.01.  相似文献

A general analysis has been developed to study the combined effect of the free convective heat and mass transfer on the steady three-dimensional laminar boundary layer flow over a stretching surface. The flow is subject to a transverse magnetic field normal to the plate. The governing three-dimensional partial differential equations for the present case are transformed into ordinary differential equation using three-dimensional similarity variables. The resulting equations, are solved numerically by applying a fifth order Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg scheme with the shooting technique. The effects of the Magnetic field Parameter M, buoyancy parameter N, Prandtl number Pr and Schmidt number Sc are examined on the velocity, temperature and concentration distributions. Numerical data for the skin-friction coefficients, Nusselt and Sherwood numbers have been tabulated for various parametric conditions. The results are compared with known from the literature.  相似文献

This paper introduces the application of three techniques to improve the performance of one-bit differential detection (DD). The Gaussian minimum shift keying (GMSK) modulation technique is employed. The proposed techniques are spread spectrum, offset receiver diversity and decision feedback (DF). A comparative study shows that when applying the direct sequence spread spectrum (DS-SS), the performance is improved by 9.3 dB at a bit error rate (BER) of 10–3 and the processing gain is equal to 10 relative to that given by Elnoubi [IEEE Trans. Veh. Tech. VT-35(1986)162–167]. When using the offset receiver diversity technique, the corresponding relative improvement is 13 dB. When employing both SS and offset diversity at the same BER, 22 and 25.7 dB improvements are attained for DS and frequency hopping (FH), respectively. A further improvement of about 1 dB is obtained when DF is used.  相似文献
