A cobalt(III)-salen complex (3) with an axial substituent on the diamine backbone has been synthesized. Crystal structure reveals that the axial substituent (p-nitrophenyl group) is positioned in close proximity to the metal binding site. The stereoselectivity of the cobalt complex for binding amino alcohols increases with increasing steric bulk of the amino alcohol from alaninol (2.9) to valinol (6.2) and t-leucinol (36.0).  相似文献

Laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) is an effective in-situ probe for NO concentrations below 300 ppm in a non-thermal plasma reactor. A new method has been developed to measure in-situ NO concentration in the reactor discharge region using a long-time—on the order of seconds—averaged fluorescence detection. This method, for quantifying NO concentration in a nonthermal plasma reactor, is simpler than a short-time—on the order of nanoseconds—fluorescence detection. For accurate measurement based on the new method, the LIF intensity must be close to the corona-induced fluorescence (CIF) intensity; the CIF intensity serves as a guide in selecting the LIF intensity. We find that a kinetic model proposed earlier works for two-tube reactors and represents the NO concentration in the middle of the reactor, which verifies the assumption of gas plug flow.  相似文献

Spiroxazine are of considerable interest as photochromic materials because of their application. On the other hand, surface plasmon resonance (SPR) is a well-known optical method for measuring optical constants of thin film. In this study, photochromic materials were used as self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) of newly synthesized spiroxazine derivatives. We used Fresnel equation (four-layer model) to determine the precise dielectric constant () of the photochromic monolayers. Structure changes of spiroxazine derivatives under UV-light irradiation resulted in the change of optical constants, the dielectric constant and thickness. The obtained results indicated that the ring opening of photochromic spiroxazine can lead to the decrease in the dielectric constant and thickness.  相似文献

We use a first-principles calculation and small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) to investigate the mechanism and the nanosize products of the sol-gel reaction with diphenylsilanediol (DPD) and 3-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (MEMO) precursors in synthesizing a hybrid waveguide material. It is predicted that switching between a DPD hydroxyl and a MEMO methoxy with a reaction rate of 6.8 x 10(-6) s(-1) at 300 K is the fastest process for the first reaction step, thus generating diphenylmethoxysilanol (DPM) and 3-methacryloxypropyldimethoxysilanol (MEDO) as products. However, we determine that this reaction pathway could be modified by the presence of the H2O released from a catalyst such as Ba(OH)2.H2O. Next, switching between the DPM hydroxyl and the MEDO methoxy is followed to generate diphenyldimethoxysilane (DPDM) and 3-methacryloxypropylmethoxysilanediol (MEMDO). However, condensation between a MEMDO hydroxyl and a DPDM methoxy is found to be most favorable for the third reaction step, which generates the DPDM-MEMDO dimer and CH3OH molecule as products. In a similar fashion, a DPDM methoxy of the DPDM-MEMDO dimer can condense with a MEMDO hydroxyl of the second DPDM-MEMDO dimer to increase the chain, but its reaction rate of 2.8 x 10(-11) s(-1) is predicted to be about 5 times smaller than that between a DPDM methoxy and a MEMDO hydroxyl. This implies that the reaction rate for the larger nanostructures becomes smaller. Additionally, our SANS measurements determine that the final products from our sol-gel reaction are on the nanometer scale, at sizes from 1.76 to 2.36 nm.  相似文献

The photoinduced charge transfer that had been suggested to result in the dissociation of phenol on Ag(111) was investigated by two-photon photoemission spectroscopy. An unoccupied intermediate state was positively identified, which was found to be located 3.22 eV above the Fermi level. From the photoelectron energy dispersion, the effective mass of the intermediate state was determined to be (15 +/- 10)m(e) for a 1 ML coverage of phenol. This implies that the excited electron is localized mainly on the adsorbed phenol, forming a molecular resonance state. Polarization dependence of the photoelectron intensity suggested that the initial photoexcitation of the substrate produces hot electrons that scatter into the molecular resonance state, leading ultimately to the dissociation of the adsorbate. These results are the first two-photon photoemission study to characterize the transient anionic state involved in photodissociation of a molecule adsorbed on a metal surface.  相似文献

We present the first example of a nuclear hormone receptor microarray, using for illustration the ligand-binding domains of the two estrogen receptors, ERalpha-LBD and ERbeta-LBD. The proteins are printed and allowed to attach to aldehyde slides; the efficiency of attachment depends on whether the LBD is liganded with agonists (low attachment) versus liganded with antagonists or unliganded (high attachment). This suggests that attachment is orientation specific and involves principally a single lysine residue. The attached ERs retain good ligand-binding activity that can be assessed using an estradiol-fluorophore conjugate, and specific and ER subtype-selective binding of ligands can be determined conveniently in competitive binding assays. This powerful new, high-throughput technique to study ligand binding to ER-LBDs can be extended to other nuclear hormone receptors and adapted to assay the recruitment of coregulator proteins.  相似文献

A silanediol inhibitor of the metalloprotease thermolysin was prepared for comparison to a known phosphinic acid inhibitor, providing the first comparison of these second-row element based transition-state analogues. Inhibition of thermolysin by the silanediol (K(i) = 41 nM) was comparable to that of the phosphinic acid (K(i) = 10 nM) even though the silanediol is uncharged and thereby lacks the intrinsic Coulombic attraction of the phosphinate anion to the active-site zinc cation. This silanediol protease inhibitor is the least sterically encumbered example prepared to date and, therefore, the most prone toward polymerization. Hydrolysis of a difluorosilane intermediate to the silanediol leads cleanly to a monomeric product.  相似文献

The Boehringer-Ingelheim phosphinoimidazoline (BIPI) ligands were applied to the formation of chiral quaternary centers in the asymmetric Heck reaction. Several different substrates were examined in detail, using more than 70 members of this new ligand class. Hammett relationships were determined through systematic variation of the ligand electronics. All substrates showed essentially the same Hammett behavior, where enantioselectivity increased as the ligands were made more electron-deficient. Ligand optimization has led to catalysts which give the highest enantioselectivities reported to date for these difficult systems.  相似文献

Tetraorganoindates, which were prepared easily from the reaction of 1 equiv of InCl(3) with 4 equiv of organometallics, could be employed as effective nucleophilic cross-coupling partners in Pd-catalyzed carbonylative cross-coupling reactions with a variety of organic electrophiles. The present method gave unsymmetrical ketones and 1,4-diacylbenzenes in good yields with highly efficient transfer of almost all the organic groups attached to the indium under a carbon monoxide atmosphere in THF at 60 degrees C.  相似文献
