We report a novel technique for manufacturing polymeric microparticles containing biocatalysts by the behavior of immiscible liquids in microfluidic systems and in situ photopolymerization. The approach utilizes a UV-polymerizable hydrogel/enzyme solution and an immiscible oil solution. The oil and hydrogel solutions form emulsions in pressure-driven flow in microchannels at high values of the dimensionless capillary number (Ca). The resultant hydrogel droplets are then polymerized in situ via exposure to 365 nm UV light. This technique allows for the generation of monodisperse particles whose size can be controlled by the regulation of flow rates. In addition, both manufacturing microparticles and immobilizing biocatalysts can be performed simultaneously and continuously. 相似文献

Factors affecting the gelation of resorcinol-formaldehyde systems have been examined overvariable ranges applicable to oilfield use. Gelation of resorcinol-formaldehyde (RF) system wassensitive to pH,salinity and hardness. Generally,this gel system could be used in fresh water orlow salinity brine at pH higher than about 9. The application would require careful monitoring ofinjection fluids to avoid premature gelation or prolonged shut-in times,especially under conditionsof low salinity and high pH. Salinity and hardness compatibilities of the system were improved bysulfomethylation of resorcinol. Aqueous sulfomethylated resorcinol formaldehyde (SMRF)system could be used in brine with higher salinity and hardness and at a wider pH range of 5--10. 相似文献

In this research, thermoresponsive and conductive fibers with core‐sheath structure were fabricated by coaxial electrospinning. For preparing the spinning sheath solution, poly‐(N‐isopropylacrylamide‐co‐N‐methylolacrylamide) (PNN) copolymer having thermoresponsive and cross‐linkable properties was synthesized by free‐radical polymerization using redox initiators; it was then mixed with the conductive poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) at different weight ratios in water. On the other hand, poly(butyl acrylate‐co‐styrene) (PBS) copolymer synthesized by emulsion polymerization was dissolved in chloroform and used as the spinning core solution. After electrospinning, the fibers were treated at 110 °C for 1 h to cross‐link the PNN portion in the sheath for strengthening the fibers. Well‐defined core‐sheath fibers were observed from SEM pictures; the outside and inside (core) diameters were 568 ± 24 and 290 ± 40 nm, respectively, as determined from TEM pictures. The fiber mats were further doped by DMSO to enhance their conductivity. For the fiber mat with the weight ratio of PEDOT:PSS/PNN at 0.20 in the sheath, its surface conductivity could reach 29.4 S/cm. In addition, the fiber mats exhibited thermoresponsive properties that both swelling ratio and electric resistance decreased with temperature. Heteroarylamido hafnium post-metallocenes with [C,N,N] ligands were functionalized by the insertion of small electrophilic unsaturated molecules into the CAr−Hf bond of the ligand, which gave rise to various 1,1- and 1,2-insertion complexes with the modified ligands of previously unknown [O,N,N], [N,N,N], [O,N,N,N], and [N,N,N,N] types. It was found that C1 symmetry of the starting complexes, in some cases, results in the formation of two diastereoisomers after 1,1- or 1,2-insertion. Most of the obtained novel complexes were shown to form active catalysts for olefin polymerization in the presence of MAO (methylaluminoxane). Thus, a new approach to the feasible and easy “late stage” modification of the precatalyst structure has been suggested; it can be performed immediately prior to the polymerization tests without isolation and even in a high-throughput manner. 相似文献

Logarithm tables and a slide rule can be constructed to one‐figure accuracy in a few moments of simple calculation by an individual. A group of students with the aid of tables of roots and powers can quickly achieve two‐digit accuracy. By using compound‐interest tables, three‐digit accuracy may be achieved without undue effort. No knowledge of infinite series or other advanced topics is necessary, and indeed experimental search for a way of multiplying by addition can be carried through successfully without the logarithm concept or as an introduction to it. The applicability of a mass spectrometry (MS)-based method for determination of various forms of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in doping analysis was demonstrated. A clinical study involving the hCG-containing pharmaceuticals Pregnyl and Ovitrelle was carried out, comprising a single injection of one pharmaceutical per participant to a total of 24 healthy male voluntaries. Hereafter, serum and urine samples were collected over a period of 14 days. The analysis of the samples using immuno-MS demonstrated elimination profiles of intact hCG for both pharmaceuticals, with last day of detection following administration at day 7 in serum, and at day 10 in urine, at limit of detections as defined by the World Anti-Doping Agency. Furthermore, the method allowed detection and differentiation of the various forms of hCG known to be present in serum and urine as a function of metabolism. For both pharmaceuticals, only the intact hCG was detected in serum, whereas in urine the injection of Pregnyl as hCG source (containing urinary hCG, i.e., most hCG variants) was shown to generate a more complex hCG variant pattern compared to Ovitrelle (contains only intact hCG). By detecting hCG using this MS-based approach in doping analysis, strong analytical evidence is provided minimizing the risk of false-positive and false-negative results. 相似文献

Nowadays those who make replicate measurements of physicochemical properties usually employ spreadsheets or handheld devices to perform averaging and other statistical operations. Using the determination of a partition ratio as an exemplary procedure, and employing statistical simulation, we examine errors that can arise by unthinking reliance on “clicking”. Alternative, more soundly based, procedures are advocated. A serendipitous result is that the logarithm of a partition ratio behaves statistically much better than expected. 相似文献
