The 2D semiconductor MoS2 in its mono‐ and few‐layer form is expected to have a significant exciton binding energy of several 100 meV, suggesting excitons as the primary photoexcited species. Nevertheless, even single layers show a strong photovoltaic effect and work as the active material in high sensitivity photodetectors, thus indicating efficient charge carrier photogeneration. Here, modulation spectroscopy in the sub‐ps and ms time scales is used to study the photoexcitation dynamics in few‐layer MoS2. The results suggest that the primary photoexcitations are excitons that efficiently dissociate into charges with a characteristic time of 700 fs. Based on these findings, simple suggestions for the design of efficient MoS2 photovoltaic and photodetector devices are made. 相似文献

Scratching the surface: Formation of a monolayer of 2H-tetraphenylporphyrins (2H-TPP) on Ag(111), either by sublimation of a multilayer in the range 525-600?K or by annealing (at the same temperature) a monolayer deposited at room temperature, induces a chemical modification of the molecules. Dielectric spectroscopy as a function of temperature and pressure was used to study the secondary relaxation in poly [(phenyl glycidyl ether)-co-formaldehyde] at hydrostatic pressure up to 600 MPa and at different temperatures between 315 and 243 K. From the analysis of the isothermal measurements, we observe that the activation volume of the secondary relaxation has nonmonotonic temperature dependence with a maximum at the temperature of the glass transition at ambient pressure. An interpretation in terms of mean hole volume dispersion is proposed based on literature data. Moreover, from isobaric data, we studied the effect of pressure on activation entropy and enthalpy of the secondary relaxation evidencing its local nature but also the presence of a certain complexity of the motion, which supports the idea that this process reflects the motion of a large part of the molecule. 相似文献

Theoretical modeling has been applied to study the charge transport (CT) parameters of a high-electron-mobility (n-type) naphthalenetetracarboxydiimide copolymer that was recently synthesized and tested for organic field-effect transistor applications. To understand the physicochemical characteristics of such a material, the intra- and intermolecular CT properties of holes and electrons were investigated using different DFT functionals, evidencing the need of range-separated hybrid functionals to predict key parameters such as the hole and electron reorganization energies. Our calculations revealed clear differences between hole- and electron-charging processes, providing fundamental elements for the rationalization of their transport. 相似文献

Surface-supported arrays of Fe(4)-type Single-Molecule Magnets retain a memory effect and are of current interest in the frame of molecule-based information storage and spintronics. To reveal the spin structure of [Fe(4)(L)(2)(dpm)(6)] (1) on Au, an isomorphous compound [Fe(3)Cr(L)(2)(dpm)(6)] was synthesized and structurally and magnetically characterized (H(3)L is tripodal ligand 11-(acetylthio)-2,2-bis(hydroxymethyl)undecan-1-ol and Hdpm is dipivaloylmethane). The new complex contains a central Cr(3+) ion and has a S = 6 ground state as opposed to S = 5 in 1. Low-temperature X-ray Magnetic Circular Dichroism studies at Fe- and Cr-L(2,3) edges revealed that the antiparallel alignment between Fe and Cr spins is preserved on surfaces. Moreover, the different Fe-L(2,3) spectral features found in the homo- and heterometallic species disclose the opposing contribution of the central Fe(3+) ion in the former compound, proving that its ferrimagnetic spin structure is retained on surfaces. 相似文献

Charge transport is investigated in high‐mobility n‐channel organic field‐effect transistors (OFETs) based on poly{[N,N′‐bis(2‐octyldodecyl)‐naphthalene‐1,4,5,8‐bis(dicarboximide)‐2,6‐diyl]‐alt‐5,5′‐(2,2′‐bithiophene)} (P(NDI2OD‐T2), Polyera ActivInk? N2200) with variable‐temperature electrical measurements and charge‐modulation spectroscopy. Results indicate an unusually uniform energetic landscape of sites for charge‐carrier transport along the channel of the transistor as the main reason for the observed high‐electron mobility. Consistent with a lateral field‐independent transport at temperatures down to 10 K, the reorganization energy is proposed to play an important role in determining the activation energy for the mobility. Quantum chemical calculations, which show an efficient electronic coupling between adjacent units and a reorganization energy of a few hundred meV, are consistent with these findings. 相似文献
