The paintings by Édouard Manet in The Courtauld Gallery Déjeuner sur l'herbe (1863–68), Marguerite de Conflans en Toilette de Bal (1870–1880), Banks of the Seine at Argenteuil (1874), and A Bar at the Folies–Bergère (1882) were investigated for the first time using a range of non-invasive in situ analyses. The aims of the study were to investigate the painting techniques and materials used for this group of works and to critically evaluate the technical evidence derived from the integrated use of imaging techniques and portable spectroscopic methods in this context. The paintings were investigated by means of macro X-ray fluorescence (MA-XRF), reflection spectral imaging, portable UV–Vis–NIR spectroscopy, portable Raman spectroscopy, and reflection FTIR. MA-XRF and reflection spectral imaging allowed visualising elements in the compositions that were not visible using traditional methods of technical study. For example, MA-XRF analysis of Déjeuner sur l'herbe revealed elements of the development of the composition that provided new evidence to consider its relationship to other versions of the composition. The study also highlighted questions about the interpretation of elemental distribution maps and spectral images that did not correspond to the reworking visible in X-radiographs. For example, in A Bar at the Folies–Bergère Manet made numerous changes during painting, which were not clearly visualised with any of the techniques used. The research has wider implications for the study of Impressionist paintings, as the results will support technical studies of works by other artists of the period who used similar materials and painting methods. 相似文献

We first prepared two types of CO2-responsive wormlike micelles based on N-butyldiethanolamine–sodium oleate (BDEA–NaOA) and N,N-diethyl butylamine–sodium oleate (DEBA–NaOA), respectively. And then, we compared the two different systems to investigate the effect of hydrogen bond on the properties of wormlike systems. The results of the pH and conductivity variation show that tertiary amine groups on BDEA and DEBA were ionized to quaternary ammonium salts after bubbling of CO2 into the systems, which work with OA? to form wormlike micelles based on electrostatic interaction. The results of rheological measurements exhibit that the viscosity and viscoelastic of the BDEA–NaOA were obviously superior to DEBA–NaOA. The dramatically difference of the two kind of wormlike micelles was due to the strong intermolecular hydrogen bond between the BDEA and NaOA. This indicates that the hydrogen bond could show great effect on the properties of the wormlike micelles. The synthesis of nanostructures using homogeneous precursors in the solution phase is widely used to achieve uniformity and well‐defined morphological control. However, drawbacks such as the lack of diversity due to the limited reaction rate modulation exist. One‐step, core–shell nanorod formation using simultaneous covering synthesis using solid and ionic heterogeneous precursors is proposed in this study. A Te‐Bi2Te3/TeO2 core–shell structure is successfully synthesized by precisely controlling various influencing factors, including concentration, temperature, and pH, and its physicochemical and photochemical properties are thoroughly investigated. The proposed nanostructure overcomes the oxidation susceptibility of Te and can be applied to multipotent cancer theranostics in vitro and in vivo in combination with computed tomography imaging. 相似文献

Water oxidation is a critical process for electrochemical water splitting due to its inherent sluggish kinetics. In spite of the high catalytic activities of noble metal-based electrocatalysts for water oxidation, their high cost, rare reserves, and low stabilities drive researchers to exploit efficient but low-cost electrocatalysts. Ultrathin 2D nanomaterials are considered efficient electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reaction (OER) in water splitting. Herein, a facile strategy is proposed to fabricate 2D FeNi layered double hydroxide (FeNi-LDH) nanosheets packed with the in situ produced 1D sword-like FeNi-MOFs by using FeNi-LDH as a semi-sacrificial template. In the composite, the thickness of the formed nanosheets is only 1.34 nm, much thinner than that of most previously reported 2D materials. The 1D porous sword-like MOF nanorods have a long length of around 1.3 µm. Due to the unique 2D/1D combined structure, the as-prepared FeNi LDH/MOF is directly used as electrocatalyst for the OER displays enhanced OER electrocatalytic performance with a low overpotential of 272 mV@100 mA cm–2, a small Tafel slope of 34.1 mV dec–1, high long-term durability. This work provides a new way to fabricate integrated ultrathin 2D nanosheets and MOFs as advanced catalysts for electrochemical energy conversion. 相似文献

Calibrated spectral measurements of the light emitted by a pulsed high-pressure mercury capillary lamp are presented. These pulsed lamps have been used in a previous work to pump a Rhodamine 6G laser. The measurements presented here show a very high efficiency in the blue and near UV part of the spectrum, suggesting that these lamps represent a very attractive pumping source for dye lasers emitting in the blue.
