The effects of measurement errors appearing during the implementation of the microwave holographic technique are investigated in detail, and many representative results are presented based on computer simulations. The numerical results are tailored for cases applicable to the utilization of the holographic technique for the NASA's Deep Space Network antennas, although the methodology of analysis is applicable to any antenna. A one-chip 16×16 digital switch (SWEL) is presented which is designed for use in a wide variety of applications, ranging from digital mobile radio and satellite applications, to PCM switching systems (integrated services digital network). It provides a compact, low-power solution to perform in channel-controlled switching of 64-kb/s or 2-Mb/s channels. Both architecture and design issues are discussed in detail; a 1.2 μm double metal CMOS technology was employed in the design. The multiplexed architecture allows for easy implementation of new application-specific requirements, making this circuit the cornerstone for new telecommunication switching products  相似文献

Excited states of73Se have been investigated up to spin, 21/2 using techniques of in-beamγ-ray spectroscopy in connection with the70Ge(α, n) reaction. Mean lifetimes of 12 levels have been determined applying Doppler-shift andγ-RF-methods. Five different bands have been identified that reflect a variety of different excitation modes. The decoupled 9/2+ band is likely to correspond to an oblate deformation while the 5/2+ band is interpreted as a strongly coupled prolate band built on the Nilsson configuration [422] 5/2+. The 3/2? band is a strongly coupled band built on the [301] 3/2} configuration.Nuclear reactions:70Ge(α,n),E=14, 16, 18, 19, 20MeV; measuredE γ,I γ,σ(E γ,θ),γγ-coin, linear polarization, DSA,γ(t).75Se deduced levels,I, π, τ, δ(E2/M1), B(σλ). The detection of serial changes in magnetic resonance (MR) signal intensity of the heart following acute myocardial infarction may provide a useful method of characterizing tissue healing. Fourteen patients with acute Q-wave infarction underwent T2-weighted, spin-echo cardiac imaging during hospitalization, followed by one or more additional MR studies (total 31) over a 6- to 27-wk period (mean: 3 mo). Visual assessment of the images demonstrated a gradual reduction in signal intensity and localization of the bright signal to the subendocardium of the infarction region over the three-mo study period. A quantitative measurement of signal intensity (infarction/normal myocardium) fell from 1.81 +/- 0.42 on the initial study to 1.34 +/- 0.37 (p less than 0.05) at a mean of 14 wk. Two patients had an increase in signal intensity on the follow-up study and both patients had been readmitted with acute coronary syndromes. In summary, characterization of changes in signal intensity may provide a useful method of assessing myocardial healing following acute myocardial infarction. Further studies are indicated to determine the prognostic significance of these parameters.  相似文献

Two derivations of the loss parameter R, entirely from wave considerations in the presence of a metallic interface, are presented. R, which represents surface losses, occurs in transmission line equations for propagation of the voltage across the plates and of the current in the plates. Explanation of the surface losses involves some radiation of the interior fields into the metallic surfaces that absorb electromagnetic energy, and that ultimately convert it into ohmic losses (heat). Although the approach may restrict the derivation to a planar interface, i.e., to a parallel-plate transmission line, that restriction is not so essential that it cannot be softened  相似文献

The rate of nucleophilic substitution at the phosphorus centre of dialkyl methylphosphonates by methoxide and ethoxide has been studied to investigate the possible involvement of hexacoordinated phosphorus species in this reaction. For alkoxide concentrations less than ca. 1.5 M the rate increases with the square of alkoxide concentration. However, consideration of the activity of the alkoxides, represented by an appropriate acidity function, reveals that only one equivalent of alkoxide is involved in the rate-determining step. Thus, there is no requirement to invoke the intermediacy of a hexacoordinated species in the reaction pathway. © John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Elimination of vector parasites in finite element Maxwell solutions   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
The vector parasite problem is studied in the context of finite-element solutions of Maxwell's equations for driven boundary-value problems. An expanded weak form which combines the divergence equation with the conventional weak form of the double-curl equation is introduced. This form is related to penalty methods where the penalty or weighting factor varies with the dielectric constant. The resulting algebraic system is identical to the Galerkin-Helmholtz operator on homogeneous subregions. Normal and tangential boundary conditions arise in terms of the divergence and curl of the field on the boundary which can be reexpressed as equivalent charges and currents. Computational results show the occurrence of two distinct types of parasitic modes in driven problems and their elimination with the formulation presented. Practical observations concerning the conditions which provoke spurious modes in these problems are reported. Spurious solutions arise from improper or unphysical boundary conditions, and the importance of careful specification of boundary-value problems is illustrated. Most conceptual difficulties with boundary conditions per se are removed when hybrid methods are used to couple the interior finite-element solution to the exterior problem. which focuses attention on the physics of the source distribution  相似文献

Spheroidal wave functions (SWF) and the spectral-domain method (SDM) are used to compute the effective dielectric constant for microstrip. The authors explore the ability of the SWF to change shape as a function of a parameter, e.g. frequency, while maintaining orthogonality, completeness, edge condition, and aperture limit. The authors introduce the SDM equations, provide a brief overview of the SWF, and study the effective dielectric constant as a function of frequency for several commonly used basis functions. A single-term expansion for the vector current density provides excellent results over a broad spectrum (1-100 GHz). Numerical results compare favorably with other commonly used techniques  相似文献
