The molecular composition of plant residues is suspected to largely govern the fate of their constitutive carbon (C) in soils. Labile compounds, such as metabolic carbohydrates, are affected differently from recalcitrant and structural compounds by soil‐C stabilisation mechanisms. Producing 13C‐enriched plant residues with specifically labeled fractions would help us to investigate the fate in soils of the constitutive C of these compounds. The objective of the present research was to test 13C pulse chase labeling as a method for specifically enriching the metabolic carbohydrate components of plant residues, i.e. soluble sugars and starch. Bean plants were exposed to a 13CO2‐enriched atmosphere for 0.5, 1, 2, 3 and 21 h. The major soluble sugars were then determined on water‐soluble extracts, and starch on HCl‐hydrolysable extracts. The results show a quick differential labeling between water‐soluble and water‐insoluble compounds. For both groups, 13C‐labeling increased linearly with time. The difference in δ13C signature between water‐soluble and insoluble fractions was 7‰ after 0.5 h and 70‰ after 21 h. However, this clear isotopic contrast masked a substantial labeling variability within each fraction. By contrast, metabolic carbohydrates on the one hand (i.e. soluble sugars + starch) and other fractions (essentially cell wall components) on the other hand displayed quite homogeneous signatures within fractions, and a significant difference in labeling between fractions: δ13C = 414 ± 3.7‰ and 56 ± 5.5‰, respectively. Thus, the technique generates labeled plant residues displaying contrasting 13C‐isotopic signatures between metabolic carbohydrates and other compounds, with homogenous signatures within each group. Metabolic carbohydrates being labile compounds, our findings suggest that the technique is particularly appropriate for investigating the effect of compound lability on the long‐term storage of their constitutive C in soils. The present paper is concerned with semi-linear partial differential equations involving a particular pseudo-differential operator. It investigates both fractal conservation laws and non-local Hamilton–Jacobi equations. The idea is to combine an integral representation of the operator and Duhamel's formula to prove, on the one hand, the key a priori estimates for the scalar conservation law and the Hamilton–Jacobi equation and, on the other hand, the smoothing effect of the operator. As far as Hamilton–Jacobi equations are concerned, a non-local vanishing viscosity method is used to construct a (viscosity) solution when existence of regular solutions fails, and a rate of convergence is provided. Turning to conservation laws, global-in-time existence and uniqueness are established. We also show that our formula allows us to obtain entropy inequalities for the non-local conservation law, and thus to prove the convergence of the solution, as the non-local term vanishes, toward the entropy solution of the pure conservation law.  相似文献

Asbestos is a fiber causing lung diseases such as asbestosis and mesothelioma. Although the process involving these diseases remains to be elucidated for developing drugs and treatments, direct consequences of fiber exposure in humans have been clearly demonstrated. These diseases are first characterized by histological heterogeneity and combine chronic inflammation with fibrosis and cellular alterations. As a consequence, asbestosis is usually diagnosed at advanced stages of the disease and treatments are usually inefficient to cure the patients. Here, we review the links established between asbestos fiber chemistry and morphology with the occurrence of associated lung diseases. Cytological and histological aspects of diseases are described with respect to current analytical capabilities, notably for microscopy techniques.  相似文献

Combining elemental, chemical, molecular, and morphological imaging information from individual cells with a lateral resolution well below 1?×?1 μm2 is the current technological challenge for investigating the smallest dimensions of living systems. In the race for such analytical performance, several techniques have been successfully developed; some use probes to determine given cellular contents whereas others use possible interactions between cellular matter with light or elements for characterization of contents. Morphological techniques providing information about cell dimensions have, when combined with other techniques, also opened the way to quantitative studies. New analytical opportunities are now being considered in cell biology, combining top-performance imaging techniques, applied to the same biosystem, with microscopy (nm–μm range) techniques providing elemental (micro-X-ray fluorescence, particle-induced X-ray emission, secondary-ion mass spectrometry), chemical (Raman, coherent anti-stokes Raman, Fourier-transform infrared, and near-field), molecular (UV–visible confocal and multiphoton), and morphological (AFM, ellipsometry, X-ray phase contrast, digital holography) information. Dedicated cell-culture methods have been proposed for multimodal imaging in vitro and/or ex vivo. This review shows that in addition to UV–fluorescent techniques, the imaging modalities able to provide interesting information about a cell, with high spatial and time resolution, have grown sufficiently to envisage quantitative analysis of chemical species inside subcellular compartments.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the large time behavior of solutions of a class of parabolic fully nonlinear integro-differential equations in a periodic setting. In order to do so, we first solve the ergodic problem (or cell problem), i.e. we construct solutions of the form $\lambda t + v(x).$ We then prove that solutions of the Cauchy problem look like those specific solutions as time goes to infinity. We face two key difficulties to carry out this classical program: (1) the fact that we handle the case of “mixed operators” for which the required ellipticity comes from a combination of the properties of the local and nonlocal terms and (2) the treatment of the superlinear case (in the gradient variable). Lipschitz estimates previously proved by the authors (2012) and Strong Maximum principles proved by the third author (2012) play a crucial role in the analysis.  相似文献

A well‐defined and monofunctional poly(3‐hexylthiophene)‐based (P3HT) macroinitiator has been obtained through a clean, simple, and an efficient multistep synthesis process. The macroinitiator is obtained via intermolecular radical 1,2‐addition onto an ω‐acrylate‐terminated P3HT macromonomer. In a second step, well‐defined rod‐coil block copolymers were obtained by nitroxide‐mediated radical polymerization (NMRP) using the so‐called Blocbuilder®. The polymerization was found to be controlled with various monomers such as styrene, isoprene, 4‐vinylpyridine, or methyl acrylate. Reuse partitioning (RP) is a simple technique that can be used to increase the traffic capacity in a cellular system. With RP, a cell is divided into several concentric regions, each associated with a different cluster size. In this article, a traffic model is developed to analyze the impact of mobile users on a two-region RP system using fixed channel assignment. The influence of user speed and cell size on the new call blocking probability, Pb, and the call dropping probability, Pd, is investigated. A simpler model that can be used to estimate Pb and Pd in some cases is described. The effect on system capacity of reserving some channels for handoff calls is also studied. It is found that even though prioritized handoff can reduce Pd, it may also degrade the capacity. The accuracy of the analysis is verified using simulation for three mobility models.  相似文献

meso-Bromoporphyrins can be conveniently substituted by primary and secondary amines in a metal catalyst-free reaction which gives access to a large variety of meso-N-substituted derivatives. In some cases, considerable acceleration of this amination can be effected under microwave irradiation. The amino anchor on the porphyrin skeleton is useful for constructing novel self-assembling porphyrinoids as demonstrated by a single crystal X-ray analysis as well as stationary absorption and fluorescence spectroscopies.  相似文献

As an attempt to develop a sensitive device for biomolecule detection, a micromechanical methodology based on the rheological change of an air–water interface is put forward (Berthier and Davoust, CEA/CNRS patent, PCT International Application WO 2003/080209 A3, 2003). Capillary waves induced from the vertical electrodynamic vibration of a brimful cylindrical tank filled with water stand as a good way to identify dilational elasticity and viscosity of an aging interface. Before, we were interested of the fact that complex wave number and the frequency of waves are obtained through an optical technique, which allows us to accurately recognize the whole interface geometry. These two parameters, a modeling based on a dispersion relation (Lucassen-Reynders and Lucassen, Adv Colloid Interface Sci, 2:347, 1969) and the surface mass transport equation, are jointly used to identify the surface diffusivity and the dilational rheology of the interface for a nonsoluble biochemical surfactant. Preliminary results obtained from a water surface functionalized by DNA, thanks to a lipidic monolayer, demonstrate the capabilities of the proposed methodology. The sensitivity of dilational rheology and the surface diffusivity on DNA adsorption on lipids is made evident.This paper was presented at the Annual Meeting of the European Society of Rheology, Grenoble, April 2005.  相似文献

This work reports the first structure–properties relationship study of ortho [2,1‐c]‐, meta [1,2‐a]‐, and para [1,2‐b]dihydroindenofluorenes, highlighting the influence of bridge rigidification on the electronic properties. This study has made it possible to devise an extended π‐conjugated molecule with both a high triplet state energy level and excellent thermal and morphological stability. As a proof of concept, dihydroindenofluorenes were used as the host in sky‐blue phosphorescent organic light‐emitting diodes (PhOLEDs) w ith high performance.  相似文献
