Partial molal heat capacities of aqueous tetraalkylammonium bromides as functions of temperature

Enthalpies of solution have been measured from 5 to 85°C for aqueous tetraethyl- and tetrapropylammonium bromides, and the integral heat method is employed to evaluate for these electrolytes over a wide temperature range. Data taken from the literature have been used to evaluate for aqueous Bu₄NBr over a similar temperature range. These data, along with similar data for Me₄NBr, previously reported, have been used to evaluate absolute ionic heat capacities. While the absolute values agree only qualitatively with two other methods of division, the temperature dependences of the three methods essentially agree up to 65°C. Heat capacities due to structural effects on the solvent, obtained by subtracting the inherent heat capacities of the ions, are extraordinarily positive for all four tetraalkylammonium ions and have negative temperature coefficients, indicating that all four ions, including the tetramethylammonium ion, are structure-making ions.     

A new caffeoyl quinic acid from aster scaber and its inhibitory activity against human immunodeficiency virus-1 (HIV-1) integrase

The phytochemical study of the aerial parts of Aster scaber Thunb. (Asteraceae) yielded a new caffeoyl quinic acid, (-) 3,5-dicaffeoyl-muco-quinic acid (2) and three known compounds, (-) 3,5-dicaffeoyl quinic acid (1), (-) 4,5-dicaffeoyl quinic acid (3), (-) 5-caffeoyl quinic acid (4). The structures were established by high resolution spectroscopic methods. The antiviral effects against HIV-1 integrase of the compounds was evaluated. (-) 3,5-Dicaffeoyl-muco-quinic acid (2) exhibited potent antiviral activity with an IC50 value of 7.0 +/- 1.3 microg/ml.     

Studies of a new series of ion-pair complexes [Mo(dtc)_4][Ln(dtc)_4] (Ln=La-Er,exp.Pm)

A new series of ion-pair complexes [Mo(dtc)4][Ln(dtc)4] (Ln=La-Er, exp. Pm) were synthesized from MoCl5, LnCl3 and Nadtc in anhydrous methanol. The crystal structures of the four complexes, [Mo(dtc)4][Ln(dtc)4] (Ln=Nd, Sm, Ho and Er) have been determined by X-ray diffraction. Spectroscopic properties of all these complexes are also discussed here.     

辐照聚甲醛聚合机理、结构与形态的研究——Ⅱ.三聚甲醛单晶辐照引发固相聚合产物的亚微观结构

三聚甲醛单晶经Co_(60)γ射线辐照可以得到一种结晶度很高的聚三聚甲醛。在辐照聚合制得的聚三聚甲醛的迴转图上,除出现普通聚甲醛的衍射点外,还存在着一些新的衍射斑点。 聚三聚甲醛沿着原来三聚甲醛的c轴可以劈成纤维,在迴转图中新的衍射斑点,当样品加温处理后会逐渐消失。 比较聚甲醛与三聚甲醛分子所占的空间,我们认为:聚甲醛确有四种不同取向的晶区,它们联结在一起形成许多曲棍状的微晶。     

Oxidative coupling of methane over Na-Mn-W/SiO2 catalyst at higher pressure

Na-Mn-W/SiO₂ catalysts were prepared and their catalytic performance for oxidative coupling of methane (OCM) was evaluated in a stainless-steel microreactor at elevated pressure. The results show that a CH₄ conversion of 15.1% with a C₂₊ selectivity of 71.8% was obtained under 750^oC, 1.0×10⁵h^-1 GHSV, CH₄/O₂ ratio of 8 and 1.0 MPa. Moreover, 17.3% CH₄ conversion with 51.6% C₂ selectivity and 23.6% C₃-C₄ selectivity was obtained under 750^oC, 2.0×10⁵h^-1 GHSV, CH₄/O₂ ratio of 8 and 1.0 MPa.     

Determination of vibrational level spacings of van der waals molecules from the Lennard-Jones potential

An approximate expression for the eigenvalues for van der Waals molecules by use of the Lennard-Jones (12-6) potential in the WKB approximation is presented. The expression is applied to the rare gas molecules. Ar₂, Kr₂, and Xe₂ by fitting the potential function to the observed potential parameters. Calculated results of vibrational energy spacings for these molecules agree well with the experiment and other calculations which are based on numerical integration of the Schrödinger equation. For Xe₂, the energy spacing expression is used to determine the thermodynamic functions of the van der Waals bond.     

Dinuclear iron(II)-cyanocarbonyl complexes linked by two/three bridging ethylthiolates: relevance to the active site of [Fe] hydrogenases

Dinuclear iron(II)-cyanocarbonyl complex [PPN](2)[Fe(CN)(2)(CO)(2)(mu-SEt)](2) (1) was prepared by the reaction of [PPN][FeBr(CN)(2)(CO)(3)] and [Na][SEt] in THF at ambient temperature. Reaction of complex 1 with [PPN][SEt] produced the triply thiolate-bridged dinuclear Fe(II) complex [PPN][(CN)(CO)(2)Fe(mu-SEt)(3)Fe(CO)(2)(CN)] (2) with the torsion angle of two CN(-) groups (C(5)N(2) and C(3)N(1)) being 126.9 degrees. The extrusion of two sigma-donor CN(-) ligands from Fe(II)Fe(II) centers of complex 1 as a result of the reaction of complex 1 and [PPN][SEt] reflects the electron-rich character of the dinuclear iron(II) when ligated by the third bridging ethylthiolate. The Fe-S distances (2.338(2) and 2.320(3) A for complexes 1 and 2, respectively) do not change significantly, but the Fe(II)-Fe(II) distance contracts from 3.505 A in complex 1 to 3.073 A in complex 2. The considerably longer Fe(II)-Fe(II) distance of 3.073 A in complex 2, compared to the reported Fe-Fe distances of 2.6/2.62 A in DdHase and CpHase, was attributed to the presence of the third bridging ethylthiolate, instead of pi-accepting CO-bridged ligand as observed in [Fe] hydrogenases. Additionally, in a compound of unusual composition ([Na.(5)/(2)H(2)O][(CN)(CO)(2)Fe(mu-SEt)(3)Fe(CO)(2)(CN)])(n)((1)/(2)O(Et)(2))(n) (3), the Na(+) cations and H(2)O molecules combining with dinuclear [(CN)(CO)(2)Fe(mu-SEt)(3)Fe(CO)(2)(CN)](-) anions create a polymeric framework wherein two CN(-) ligands are coordinated via CN(-)-Na(+)/CN(-)-(Na(+))(2) linkages, respectively.
