Numerical electromagnetic simulator termination de-embeddingtechnique

The authors report a novel approach whereby transmission-line end effects can be assessed by numerical simulation without recourse to the evaluation of the propagation properties of the line interconnecting the termination and excitation signal launch planes. As an example of the new technique, a microstrip open-ended line termination simulated by the finite-difference time-domain method is reported. The simulated results are compared with those obtained for the same structure but by a conventional numerical de-embedding scheme. The method presented is completely general and can be applied to any numerical electromagnetic field simulation method solving one-port or multiport networks

Terahertz Interferometer That Senses Vibrations Behind Barriers

A terahertz sensor that measures vibrations behind optically opaque barriers (cardboard, plastic, wool, cotton) is described and demonstrated. Using interferometric techniques, submicrometer displacements can be resolved. Measured spectral response agrees with commercial vibrometer     

Controllable synthesis of ZnS/PMMA nanocomposite hybrids generated from functionalized ZnS quantum dots nanocrystals

We reported controllable synthesis of ZnS nanocrystal-polymer transparent hybrids by using polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) as a polymer matrix. In a typical run, the appropriate amounts of zinc chloride (ZnCl₂) and sodium sulfide (Na₂S) in the presence of 2-mercaptoethanol (ME) as the organic ligand were well dispersed in H₂O/dimethylformamide solution without any aggregation. In addition, the Mn-doped ZnS nanocrystals (NCs) were synthesized with similar method. Then, ZnS-PMMA hybrids were obtained via free radical polymerization in situ by using ZnS NCs functionalized with methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (MPS). FT-IR characterization indicates the formation of robust bonding between ZnS NCs and the organic ligand. The TEM images show that ZnS NCs are well dispersed in PMMA matrix, and particle size of as-prepared ZnS NCs is about 2.6 nm, in agreement with the computing results of Brus’s model and Debye–Scherrer formula. The photoluminescence measurements present that ZnS NCs, Mn-doped ZnS NCs, and ZnS/PMMA hybrid show good optical properties.     

10Gbit/s甚短距离传输系统接收模块研究

本文研究了符合OIF—VSR4—01．0规范的甚短距离（VSR）并行光传输系统转换器集成电路，实现了接收部分转换器集成电路中帧同步、8B／10B解码、12路通道去斜移、检错纠错等模块的设计。在Altera的Stratix GX系列的FPGA上实现了接收部分转换器集成电路。仿真分析的结果表明所设计的各个模块能正确的实现接收部分转换器集成电路的功能，给出了仿真结果。     

Synthesis of 5‐Radioiodoarabinosyl Uridine Analog for Probing the HSV‐1 Thymidine Kinase Gene

Tumor cells transduced with herpes simplex virus thymidine kinase gene have been intensively applied to the field of positron emission tomography via imaging of its substrate. As a pilot synthesis approach, a facile preparation of 5‐[¹²⁵I] iodoarabinosyl uridine starting from commercially available uridine is reported herein.     

Continuous preparation of decorated nano zinc oxide organic sols with intense luminescence

A sort of decorated nano ZnO organic sols have been successively prepared by pulsed laser ablation at the interface of ZnO target and a flowing liquid containing polymers. It is found that the decorated nano ZnO ethanol sols, the decorated nano ZnO-PS (polystyrene) cyclohexane sols and the decorated nano ZnO-PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) ethyl butyrate sols all have strong fluorescence emission at 329 nm and 411 nm, 308 nm and 317 nm, and at 330 nm and 400 nm, respectively. The results show the decorating for nano ZnO will intensely affect their luminescence, and the wavelength and intensity of luminescence can be adjusted or controlled by the different decoration.
