A nitroxide [60]fullerene adduct containing a pyrrolidine-1-oxyl group has been synthesized. Its orientational order in the nematic phase of the liquid crystal solvent 4,4′-azoxyanisole (PAA) has been measured from the variation of the EPR spectral parameters on passing from the isotropic to the nematic phase. Highly resolved EPR lines allow for precise evaluation of the shifts of the g, a N and a H values. Since the g and the hyperfine tensors are known, the order matrix could be obtained. This is compared with the one calculated with a theoretical model based on short range solute-solvent interactions, which predicts a considerable degree of orientation of the molecular axes, despite the almost spherical shape of the molecule. The agreement with experimental findings is quite good and it is further improved if a bent structure of the pyrrolidine ring is taken into account.  相似文献

The temporal evolution of concentrations of dimethylsulphide (DMS), its precursor dimethylsulphoniopropionate (DMSP) and chlorophyll a is surveyed weekly in the water column and in a landfast ice core at a coastal station of Gerlache Inlet (Terra Nova Bay, Antarctica) from 27 November 2000 to 14 February 2001. The DMS and DMSP profile concentrations in the water column are similar and show a clear temporal trend, with minimum values (<0.7?nM) at all depths occurring on 27 November 2000 and maximum values (4.8 × 102?nM for DMS and 1.8 × 102?nM for DMSP) in surface water on 27 December 2000 for DMS and on 19 December 2000 for DMSP. When the sea-ice cover is present, the temporal evolution of DMSP closely follows that of chlorophyll a in the water column, supporting the idea that DMSP, and therefore DMS, has a phytoplanktonic origin. However, when the ice cover breaks up during the late austral summer, a second phytoplankton bloom occurs, while the DMSP concentration in the sea-water column remains very low. In the ice core, the results show higher concentrations of DMSP than those of the underlying sea water, highlighting the important role of sea ice in the sulphur cycle of the Antarctic ecosystem.  相似文献

Time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT) is applied to calculate vertical excitation energies of three representative transition metal complexes. The computational model (PBE0) is obtained by combining the Perdew-Burke-Erzenrhof (PBE) generalized gradient functional with a predetermined amount of exact exchange. Our results show that the TDDFT/PBE0 model represents a cheap and reliable tool for the computation of optical excitations for transition metal complexes. A series of cyano-bridged binuclear mixed valence complexes of the general formula M-Ru(III)(NH(3))(4)pyCOOH [pyCOOH = isonicotinic acid; M = cis-Ru(bpy)(2)(CN)(2), 1 (bpy = 2,2' bipyridine); trans-Ru(py)(4)(CN)(2), 2 (py = pyridine); [Ru(CN)(6)](4)(-), 3; [Fe(CN)(6)](4)(-), 4] have been prepared and anchored through the carboxylic function to nanocrystalline TiO(2) or SnO(2) electrodes. The complexes display a reversible electrochromic behavior in the range of applied potential from -0.5 to +0.5 V, versus SCE. Tuning of the electronic transitions in the visible and near-infrared spectral regions is achieved through changes of the solvent and of the cyano-bridged metal moiety M.  相似文献

Two new types of 4,4′,7,7′‐tetraalkoxyindigotins, 1a – f and 2a – f along with the new N‐substituted indigotins 4e – f , were synthesized from dinitrobenzaldehydes 5a – f , which were prepared from 2‐hydroxy‐5‐methoxybenzaldehyde ( 7 ) via dialkoxybenzaldehydes 6a – f (Scheme). The new dialkoxyindigotin 3g was obtained from dialkoxybenzaldehyde 6g via nitrobenzaldehyde 8g . The 1,4‐dialkoxy‐2,3‐dinitrobenzenes 9 were isolated as by‐products. The 4,4′,7,7′‐tetraalkoxy‐5,5′‐diaminoindigotins 1 are soluble in organic solvents, and their solutions are green, which is highly uncommon for indigotins and is primarily caused by electronic effects of substituents, steric effects playing a minor role. The indigotins 1 produce a strong red shift of the longest‐wavelength absorption and negative solvatochromism indicating the predominance of polar resonance structures in the ground state. Tautomeric structures were excluded. These indigotins are valuable compounds for technical applications, for synthetic purposes, and for analytical studies. SANS (Small‐angle neutron scattering) experiments showed that certain 4,4′,7,7′‐tetraalkoxy‐5,5′‐diaminoindigotins 1 form rod‐like aggregates in solution. The similarly substituted 4,4′,7,7′‐tetraalkoxy‐5,5′‐dinitroindigotins 2 are far less soluble. They produce red monoanions (preferably dimers) and bluish‐purple dianions in organic solvents.  相似文献

Structural studies of a synthetic melanin, obtained by means of performic acid oxidation of tryptophan, were carried out by pyrolysis gas chromatography/mass Spectrometry (Py-GC/MS). To identify the best pyrolysis conditions, both Curie-point pyrolysis and filament pyrolysis were employed and the effects of pyrolysis temperatures and times were studied. Using the first approach, various compounds were identified: toluene, ethylbenzene, styrene, indole, methylindole, ethylindole, phenol, cresol and ethylphenol. Using filament pyrolysis some interesting differences could be observed. Whereas toluene, ethylbenzene, phenol, cresol and methylindole were found, neither indole nor ethylindole was detected. Instead, new pyrolysis products were evident, such as methylpyrrole and indolin-2-one. Hence filament pyrolysis seems to activate different thermal decomposition pathways of the melanin under study. It is suggested that tryptophan melanin is a polymer containing indole and hydroxyindole derivatives as subunits.  相似文献

Electron impact mass spectrometry has been used together with linked scans, exact mass measurements and mass-analysed ion kinetic energy spectrometry to study nine inacrocyclic polyether lactones in detail.
