The synthesis of well-defined block copolymers from styrene and methyl acrylate via ATRP is discussed in this contribution. Kinetic studies on these block copolymerizations as well as characterization studies were performed to investigate the monomer composition in the respective PS and PMA blocks. MALDI-TOF-MS was performed to clarify the exact number of repeating units of each block and the total number of units in the block copolymer. Block copolymers up to 22 kDa could be analyzed by MALDI-TOF-MS, whereby polymers with PMA as first block showed a large second distribution corresponding to PMA homopolymers. However, SEC demonstrated that only a small amount of homopolymer was present indicating that care needs to be taken with interpreting MALDI-TOF-MS data, which is a qualitative rather than a quantitative technique. 相似文献

Efficient, earth‐abundant, and acid‐stable catalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) are missing pieces for the production of hydrogen via water electrolysis. Here, we report how the limitations on the stability of 3d‐metal materials can be overcome by the spectroscopic identification of stable potential windows in which the OER can be catalyzed efficiently while simultaneously suppressing deactivation pathways. We demonstrate the benefits of this approach using gamma manganese oxide (γ‐MnO2), which shows no signs of deactivation even after 8000 h of electrolysis at a pH of 2. This stability is vastly superior to existing acid‐stable 3d‐metal OER catalysts, but cannot be realized if there is a deviation as small as 50‐mV from the stable potential window. A stable voltage efficiency of over 70 % in a polymer–electrolyte membrane (PEM) electrolyzer further verifies the availability of this approach and showcases how materials previously perceived to be unstable may have potential application for water electrolysis in an acidic environment. 相似文献

Efficient basic hydrotalcite (HT)‐supported gold nanoparticle (AuNP) catalysts have been developed for the aerobic oxidative tandem synthesis of methyl esters and imines from primary alcohols catalyzed under mild and soluble‐base‐free conditions. The catalytic performance can be fine‐tuned for these cascade reactions by simple adjustment of the Mg/Al atomic ratio of the HT support. The one‐pot synthesis of methyl esters benefits from high basicity (Mg/Al=5), whereas moderate basicity greatly improves imine selectivity (Mg/Al=2). These catalysts outperform previously reported AuNP catalysts by far. Kinetic studies show a cooperative enhancement between AuNP and the surface basic sites, which not only benefits the oxidation of the starting alcohol but also the subsequent steps of the tandem reactions. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time that straightforward control of the composition of the support has been shown to yield optimum AuNP catalysts for different tandem reactions. 相似文献

Four photo-catalysts of the general formula [Ir(CO6/ppy)2(L)]Cl where CO6=coumarin 6 ( Ir1 – Ir3 ), ppy=2-phenylpyridine ( Ir4 ), L=4′-(3,5-di-tert-butylphenyl)-2,2′ : 6′,2′′-terpyridine ( Ir1 ), 4′-(3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)-2,2′ : 6′,2′′-terpyridine ( Ir2 and Ir4 ), and 4-([2,2′ : 6′,2′′-terpyridin]-4′-yl)-N,N-dimethylaniline ( Ir3 ) were synthesized and characterized. These photostable photo-catalysts ( Ir1 – Ir3 ) showed strong visible light absorption between 400–550 nm. Upon light irradiation (465 and 525 nm), Ir1 – Ir3 generated singlet oxygen and induced rapidly photo-catalytic oxidation of cellular coenzymes NAD(P)H. Ir1 – Ir3 showed time-dependent cellular uptake with excellent intracellular retention efficiency. Upon green light irradiation (525 nm), Ir2 provided a much higher photo-index (PI=793) than the clinically used photosensitizer, 5-aminolevulinicacid (5-ALA, PI>30) against HeLa cancer cells. The observed necro-apoptotic anticancer activity of Ir2 was due to the Ir2 triggered photo-induced intracellular redox imbalance (by NAD(P)H oxidation and ROS generation) and change in the mitochondrial membrane potential. Conjugated polymers feature promising structure and properties for photocatalytic water splitting. Herein, a hydrolysis strategy was demonstrated to rationally modulate the surface hydrophilicity and band structures of conjugated poly-benzothiadiazoles. High hydrophilicity not only enhances the dispersions of polymeric solids in an aqueous solution but also reduces the absorption energy of water molecules. Besides, both theoretical and experimental results reveal that a more positive valence band potential is generated, which contributes to enhancing the photocatalytic water oxidation performance. Accordingly, the surface-modified conjugated polymers show largely promoted photocatalytic water oxidation activities by deposition of cobalt oxides as cocatalysts. 相似文献

In this study, the botanical origin, total flavonoid and phenolic content, antioxidant activity, phenolic profile and fatty acid composition of mixed bee pollen loads collected in Bayburt, Turkey, were determined. In addition to these assays, antibacterial activity of bee-collected pollen extract (BCPE) against a variety of food-borne pathogenic bacteria was determined in vitro. Pollen loads were classified into five botanical families based on their color: Asteraceae, Fabaceae, Campanulaceae, Cistaceae and Rosaceae. Total flavonoid, total phenolic, CUPRAC and CERAC concentrations were 173.52 mg GAE/g, 79.21 mg QE/g, 85.59 mg Trolox/g and 118.13 mg Trolox/g, respectively. Twenty-three phenolic compounds were scanned in bee pollen extract by LC-MS/MS, with rutin being the most abundant. Cis-4,7,10,13,16,19 docosahexaenoic acid was the predominant fatty acid, followed by cis-11-eicosenoic acid, palmitic acid, and alfa linolenic acid. In addition, the agar well diffusion (AWD) and micro-broth dilution methods were used to determine of the antibacterial activity of the BCPE sample. MIC values were observed to vary between 2.5–5 mg/mL for Gram-positive bacteria and 5–10 mg/mL for Gram-negative bacteria. In this work,we have successfully prepared a novel separator modified with N,S co-doped carbon framework(named NSPCF)with confined CoS2 nanoparticles and rooted carbon nanotubes material(named NSPCF@CoS2)to apply for high-performance Lithium-Sulfur batteries(Li-S batteries).Robust carbon structure with large specific surface can act as a physical barrier and possess physical adsorption effect on lithium polysulfides(LiPSs).In addition,highly-conductive carbon can improve integral conductivity,leading to the fast charge transport and reaction kinetics.Also,doping heteroatoms could form more active sites to adsorb LiPSs strongly so that modified separator could inhibit the shuttle effect effectively.Moreover,the presence of CoS2 further enhances the ability of modified separator to trap LiPSs owing to the Lewis acid-base action.As a result,the NSPCF@CoS2@C-150 battery can deliver initial discharge capacities of 863.0,776.2,649.1 and 489.4 mAh g-1 at 0.1,0.5,1 and 2C with a high sulfur loading of 2.04 mg cm-2,respectively.Notably,when turning the current density back to 0.1 C,its discharge capacity can recover to 1008.7 mAh g-1.In addition,the modified separators exhibit outstanding capacities to restrain the growth of lithium dendrites.It is noteworthy that the flame retardant performances of Li-S batteries are improved dramatically owing to the novel structures of modified separators.This rationally designed separator endows Li-S batteries with higher safety and excellent electrochemical performances,providing a feasible strategy for practical application of Li-S batteries. 相似文献
