The computation of the entire Lyapunov spectrum for extended dynamical systems is a very time consuming task. If the system is in a chaotic spatio-temporal regime it is possible to approximately reconstruct the Lyapunov spectrum from the spectrum of a subsystem by a suitable rescaling in a very cost effective way. We compute the Lyapunov spectrum for the subsystem by truncating the original Jacobian without modifying the original dynamics and thus taking into account only a portion of the information of the entire system. In doing so we notice that the Lyapunov spectra for consecutive subsystem sizes are interleaved and we discuss the possible ways in which this may arise. We also present a new rescaling method, which gives a significantly better fit to the original Lyapunov spectrum. We evaluate the performance of our rescaling method by comparing it to the conventional rescaling (dividing by the relative subsystem volume) for one- and two-dimensional lattices in spatio-temporal chaotic regimes. Finally, we use the new rescaling to approximate quantities derived from the Lyapunov spectrum (largest Lyapunov exponent, Lyapunov dimension, and Kolmogorov-Sinai entropy), finding better convergence as the subsystem size is increased than with conventional rescaling. The combination of force and flexibility enables controlled and soft movements. In sharp contrast, presently used machines are solid and mostly based on stiff driveshafts or cog wheels. Magnetic elastomers are realized through dispersion of small particles in polymer matrices and have attracted significant interest as soft actuators for controlled movement or conveying and are particularly attractive candidates for magnetic pump applications. At present, low magnetic particle loading and thus limited actuator strength have restricted the application of such materials. Here, the direct incorporation of metal microparticles into a very soft and flexible silicone and its application as an ultra‐flexible, yet strong magnetic tube, is described. Because metals have a far higher saturation magnetization and higher density than oxides, the resulting increased force/volume ratio afforded significantly stronger magnetic actuators with high mechanical stability, flexibility, and shape memory. Elliptical inner diameter shape of the tubing allowed a very efficient contraction of the tube by applying an external magnetic field. The combination of magnetic silicone tubes and a magnetic field generating device results in a magnetic peristaltic pump.  相似文献

A simple synthesis of 28 new 6-alkyl- and 5,6-cycloalkeno-5-deazapteridines, also referred to as pyrido[2′,3′-d]pyrimidines, is described. 4-Aminouracils with various substituents at position 2 and N,N-unsubstituted β-enaminocarbonyl compounds such as 3-aminoacroleins and 2-aminomethylenecycloalkanones are the starting materials. The method is also applied to the preparation of terpenoid 5-deazapteridines from 2-aminomethylene terpene ketones. The fragmentation pattern of these heterocycles in the mass spectra is outlined, and the proton and carbon-13 NMR spectra are discussed.  相似文献

Observations in space and laboratory plasmas suggest magnetic reconnection as a mechanism for ion heating and formation of non-Maxwellian ion velocity distribution functions (IVDF). Laser-induced fluorescence measurements of the IVDF parallel to the X line of a periodically driven reconnection experiment are presented. A time-resolved analysis yields the evolution of the IVDF within a reconnection cycle. It is shown that reconnection causes a strong increase of the ion temperature, where the strongest increase is found at the maximum reconnection rate. Monte Carlo simulations demonstrate that ion heating is a consequence of the in-plane electric field that forms around the X line in response to reconnection.  相似文献

The classical canonical partition function for a one-dimensional, two-component system is examined for the case of nearest-neighbor interactions. The quasi-chemical model of solid solutions is found to be a natural consequence of the definition of the partition function when one replaces the normal configurational energy with a configurational free energy. Consequently, the quasi-chemical theory may be viewed as a consequence of the definition of the partition function and not as merely a physically pleasing model.  相似文献

Monensin A and B were studied by electrospray ionisation tandem mass spectrometry (ESI-MS/MS) and the fragment ions were confirmed by accurate-mass measurements. Analyses were performed on both a quadrupole time-of-flight (QTOF) and a Fourier-transform ion cyclotron resonance (FTICR) mass spectrometer. The analysis revealed that fragment ions were produced by Grob-Wharton fragmentations and pericyclic rearrangements in addition to various simple neutral losses. A study of the protonated and sodiated sodium salt revealed different fragmentation pathways for these species, thus complementary structural information could be gained. A complete fragmentation pathway of monensin A and B protonated sodium salt [(M-H+Na)+H])+) and sodiated sodium salt [(M-H+Na)+Na](+) is proposed. MS(3) analysis confirmed the separate fragmentation pathways.  相似文献

In an attempt to find new dual acting histamine H3 receptor (H3R) ligands, we designed a series of compounds, structurally based on previously described in our group, a highly active and selective human histamine H3 receptor (hH3R) ligand KSK63. As a result, 15 obtained compounds show moderate hH3R affinity, the best being the compound 17 (hH3R Ki = 518 nM). Docking to the histamine H3R homology model revealed two possible binding modes, with key interactions retained in both cases. In an attempt to find possible dual acting ligands, selected compounds were tested for antioxidant properties. Compound 16 (hH3R Ki = 592 nM) showed the strongest antioxidant properties at the concentration of 10−4 mol/L. It significantly reduced the amount of free radicals presenting 50–60% of ascorbic acid activity in the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) assay, as well as showed antioxidative properties in the ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) assay. Despite the yet unknown antioxidation mechanism and moderate hH3R affinity, 16 (QD13) constitutes a starting point for the search of potential dual acting H3R ligands-promising tools for the treatment of neurological disorders associated with increased neuronal oxidative stress.  相似文献
