Excited states of 83Kr, populated in the 76Ge(11B, 3npγ) reaction at a beam energy of 50 MeV, have been studied. The ΔI?=?1 band, built upon the 2,510.0 keV state, has been observed up to 5,639.4 keV with spin (27/2???). Mean lifetimes have been measured up to spin 23/2?? in ΔI?=?1 band using the Doppler shift attenuation method. The B(M1) rates derived from the measured lifetimes decrease smoothly with spin indicating that the angular momentum belonging to this band are generated by the shears mechanism.  相似文献

We demonstrate that delta doping can be used to create a dimensionally confined region of metallic ferromagnetism in an antiferromagnetic (AFM) manganite host, without introducing any explicit disorder due to dopants or frustration of spins. Theoretical consideration of these additional carriers shows that they cause a local enhancement of ferromagnetic double exchange with respect to AFM superexchange, resulting in local canting of the AFM spins. This leads to a highly modulated magnetization, as measured by polarized neutron reflectometry. The spatial modulation of the canting is related to the spreading of charge from the doped layer and establishes a fundamental length scale for charge transfer, transformation of orbital occupancy, and magnetic order in these manganites. Furthermore, we confirm the existence of the canted, AFM state as was predicted by de Gennes [Phys. Rev. 118, 141 (1960)] but had remained elusive.  相似文献

The phase transitions of nearest-neighbour interacting Ising models on self-avoiding walk (SAW) chains on square and triangular lattices have been studied using Monte Carlo technique. To estimate the transition temperature (T c) bounds, the average number of nearest-neighbours (Z eff) of spins on SAWs have been determined using the computer simulation results, and the percolation thresholds (p c) for site dilution on SAWs have been determined using Monte Carlo methods. We find, for SAWs on square and triangular lattices respectively,Z eff=2.330 and 3.005 (which compare very well with our previous theoretically estimated values) andp c=0.022±0.003 and 0.045±0.005. When put in Bethe-Peierls approximations, the above values ofZ eff givekT c/J<1.06 and 1.65 for Ising models on SAWs on square and triangular lattices respectively, while, using the semi-empirical relation connecting the Ising modelT c's andp c's for the same lattices, we findkT c/J0.57 and 0.78 for the respective models. Using the computer simulation results for the shortest connecting path lengths in SAWs on both kinds of lattices, and integrating the spin correlations on them, we find the susceptibility exponent =1.024±0.007, for the model on SAWs on two dimensional lattices.  相似文献

We study the dynamics of the “Kolkata Paise Restaurant problem”. The problem is the following: In each period, N agents have to choose between N restaurants. Agents have a common ranking of the restaurants. Restaurants can only serve one customer. When more than one customer arrives at the same restaurant, one customer is chosen at random and is served; the others do not get the service. We first introduce the one-shot versions of the Kolkata Paise Restaurant problem which we call one-shot KPR games. We then study the dynamics of the Kolkata Paise Restaurant problem (which is a repeated game version of any given one shot KPR game) for large N. For statistical analysis, we explore the long time steady state behavior. In many such models with myopic agents we get under-utilization of resources, that is, we get a lower aggregate payoff compared to the social optimum. We study a number of myopic strategies, focusing on the average occupation fraction of restaurants.  相似文献

A quantum system coupled to a heat-bath in non-equilibrium environment is considered to study the problem of noise-induced escape rate from a metastable state in the moderate to strong friction limit (Kramers’ regime). It is known that starting from an initial coherent state representation of bath oscillators, one can derive a c-number generalized quantum Langevin equation where the quantum correction terms appear as a coupled infinite set of hierarchy of equations. For practical purpose, one should truncate these equations after a certain order. In our present development, we calculate the quantum correction terms in a closed analytical form based on a systematic perturbation technique and then derive the lowest order quantum correction factor exactly in the case of an Ohmic dissipative bath. Finally, to demonstrate its applicability, the effective equation of motions has been used to study the barrier crossing dynamics which incorporates the quantum correction factors.  相似文献

CdS and Si semiconductor nanopraticles were embedded in a polymer matrix and characterized using various techniques. The surface properties and size distribution of the nanoparticles were monitored by POM and SEM and found to be uniform but around the crystalline frameworks of the polymer. XRD and FTIR analysis have been used to ensure the composite nature and particle size of the semiconductor loaded films. The electrical conductivity of these films were evaluated and found to increase with semiconductor dispersion and attains a percolation threshold at optimum composition. This composition and the distribution of the clusters is shown to vary with the type of the semiconductor, i.e., CdS or Si.  相似文献

Morphological transformation during evaporation-induced self-assembly of a mixed colloidal suspension in micrometric droplets has been investigated. It has been demonstrated that a buckling-driven shape transition of drying droplets of mixed colloidal suspension takes place during evaporation-induced self-assembly. Further, it is also shown that the distortion modulations get significantly amplified with enhancement in volume fraction of anisotropic soft colloidal component of the mixed colloids. It has been argued that the reduction in elastic modulus of formed shell, at the boundary of a drying droplet, and the anisotropic nature of one of the colloidal components facilitate the deformation process. Hierarchical structures of these assembled colloidal grains have been probed using electron microscopy and scattering techniques.  相似文献

We report the metal organic vapor phase epitaxy (MOVPE) growth and characterization of non‐polar (11 0) a ‐plane Alx Ga1–xN on (1 02) r ‐plane sapphire substrates over the entire composition range. Alx Ga1–xN samples with ~0.8 μm thick layers and with x = 0, 0.18, 0.38, 0.46, 0.66, and 1.0 have been grown on r ‐plane sapphire substrates. The layer quality can be improved by using a 3‐stage AlN nucleation layer and appropriate V/III ratio switching following nucleation. All a ‐plane AlGaN epilayers show an anisotropic in‐plane mosaicity, strongly influenced by Al incorporation and growth conditions. Careful lattice parameter measurements show anisotropic in‐plane strain that results in an orthorhombic distortion of the hexagonal unit cell, making Al composition determination from X‐ray diffraction difficult. In general lower Al incorporation is seen in a ‐plane epilayers compared to c ‐plane samples grown under the same conditions. (© 2010 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

We demonstrate that the changes in the elastic properties of the FeAs systems, as seen in our resonant ultrasound spectroscopy data, can be naturally understood in terms of fluctuations of emerging nematic degrees of freedom. Both the softening of the lattice in the normal, tetragonal phase as well as its hardening in the superconducting phase are consistently described by our model. Our results confirm the view that structural order is induced by magnetic fluctuations.  相似文献
