(27)Al, (17)O and (13)C chemical shieldings of aluminum acetylacetonate complex, Al(acac)(3), were calculated at some Density Functional Theory (DFT) levels of theory. In these calculations the X-ray structures of its different polymorphs were used. Using these calculated data observed discrepancies between the X-ray crystallography and solid state NMR experiment were explained in terms of the quality of the NMR data. In this survey we resorted to the simulated spectra using our calculated chemical shifts. In order to confirm our conclusions, electric field gradient (EFG) tensors of the (27)Al and (17)O nuclei were calculated at the same levels of theory as used in the chemical shielding calculations. On the other hand, these calculated chemical shifts and nuclear quadrupole coupling constants (NQCCs) made a correlation between X-ray crystallography and solid state NMR experiments.  相似文献

Carica papaya L. leaves have been used in ethnomedicine for the treatment of fevers and cancers. Despite its benefits, very few studies on their potential toxicity have been described. The aim of the present study was to characterize the chemical composition of the leaf extract from 'Sekaki' C. papaya cultivar by UPLC-TripleTOF-ESI-MS and to investigate the sub-acute oral toxicity in Sprague Dawley rats at doses of 0.01, 0.14 and 2 g/kg by examining the general behavior, clinical signs, hematological parameters, serum biochemistry and histopathology changes. A total of twelve compounds consisting of one piperidine alkaloid, two organic acids, six malic acid derivatives, and four flavonol glycosides were characterized or tentatively identified in the C. papaya leaf extract. In the sub-acute study, the C. papaya extract did not cause mortality nor were treatment-related changes in body weight, food intake, water level, and hematological parameters observed between treatment and control groups. Some biochemical parameters such as the total protein, HDL-cholesterol, AST, ALT and ALP were elevated in a non-dose dependent manner. Histopathological examination of all organs including liver did not reveal morphological alteration. Other parameters showed non-significant differences between treatment and control groups. The present results suggest that C. papaya leaf extract at a dose up to fourteen times the levels employed in practical use in traditional medicine in Malaysia could be considered safe as a medicinal agent.  相似文献

Then we try to translate properties of this graph into algebraic properties of R and vice versa. The adsorption of two common organophosphorus pesticides, diethoxy-[(2-isopropyl-6-methyl-4-pyrimidinyl)oxy]-thioxophosphorane (diazinon) and dimethoxy-(3-methyl-4-nitrophenoxy)-thioxophosphorane (fenitrothion), by MCM-41 and MCM-48 mesoporous silicas at room temperature was investigated. UVvis and IR spectroscopy, small-angle X-ray diffraction, and the specific surface area analysis (S BET) were used to study the adsorption behavior of diazinon and fenitrothion. The results show that the MCM-41 and MCM-48 mesoporous silicas adsorb diazinon more efficiently than fenitrothion. The extraction of adsorbed materials from the adsorbents with polar solvents and subsequent analysis by 31P NMR showed that the adsorption of diazinon and fenitrothion on mesoporous silicas is destructive and non-destructive, respectively. Nitrogen adsorption measurements showed that the specific surface area of both silicas decreases after the adsorption of pesticides, and the larger effect is observed for diazinon. A new wetting mechanism, termed electro-elastic wetting, and methods to exploit it for droplet manipulation are proposed and demonstrated. The system consists of a droplet of dielectric liquid, an elastic and conductive membrane as its shell, and an electrode-dielectric composite as its substrate. Activation is by an electric field applied between the membrane and the substrate. The equilibrium shape of the droplet is determined by the balance of membrane tension and electrostatic attraction. It is shown that the contact angle of the droplet is governed by a modified Young–Lipmann Equation. It is then demonstrated that it is possible to transport the droplet along a controlled direction, as well as to actively tune its shape, topography, and position by manipulating the spatial distribution of the electrical force.  相似文献

Burn is one of the physically debilitating injuries that can be potentially fatal; therefore, providing appropriate coverage in order to reduce possible mortality risk and accelerate wound healing is mandatory. In this study, collagen/exo-polysaccharide (Col/EPS 1–3%) scaffolds are synthesized from rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) skins incorporated with Rhodotorula mucilaginosa sp. GUMS16, respectively, for promoting Grade 3 burn wound healing. Physicochemical characterizations and, consequently, biological properties of the Col/EPS scaffolds are tested. The results show that the presence of EPS does not affect the minimum porosity dimensions, while raising the EPS amount significantly reduces the maximum porosity dimensions. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), FTIR, and tensile property results confirm the successful incorporation of the EPS into Col scaffolds. Furthermore,the biological results show that the increasing EPS does not affect Col biodegradability and cell viability, and the use of Col/EPS 1% on rat models displays a faster healing rate. Finally, histopathological examination reveals that the Col/EPS 1% treatment accelerates wound healing, through greater re-epithelialization and dermal remodeling, more abundant fibroblast cells and Col accumulation. These findings suggest that Col/EPS 1% promotes dermal wound healing via antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities, which can be a potential medical process in the treatment of burn wounds.  相似文献

An extremely stable, energy-dense (53.6 Ah L−1, 2 m transferrable electrons), low crossover (permeability of <1 × 10−13 cm2 s−1 using Nafion 212 (Nafion is a trademark polymer from DuPont)), and potentially inexpensive anthraquinone with 2-2-propionate ether anthraquinone structure (abbreviated 2-2PEAQ) is synthesized and extensively evaluated under practically relevant conditions for use in the negolyte of an aqueous redox flow battery. 2-2PEAQ shows a high stability with a fade rate of 0.03–0.05% per day at different applied current densities, cut-off voltage windows, and concentrations (0.1 and 1.0 m ) in both a full cell paired with a ferro/ferricyanide posolyte as well as a symmetric cell. 2-2PEAQ is further shown to have extreme long-term stability, losing only ≈0.01% per day when an electrochemical rejuvenation strategy is employed. From post-mortem analysis (nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC-MS), and cyclic voltammetry (CV)) two degradation mechanisms are deduced: side chain loss and anthrone formation. 2-2PEAQ with the ether linkages attached on carbons non-adjacent to the central ring is found to have three times lower fade rate compared to its isomer with ether linkages on the carbon adjacent to the central quinone ring. The present study introduces a viable negolyte candidate for grid-scale aqueous organic redox flow batteries.  相似文献
