Abstract Macroazoinitiator (MAI) was prepared from hydroxyl‐terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) and 4,4′‐azobis‐4‐cyanopentanoic acid by direct polycondensation in the presence of 1‐methyl‐2‐chloropyridinium iodide at room temperature. This MAI used for block copolymerization of AAm at 60°C gave the best results in chloroform but the formation of a crosslinked product could not be ruled out in dioxane. It was inferred that for production of a linear block copolymer, homogeneous reaction mixture was required. The resulting products were characterized by spectral studies IR and NMR, viscosity measurements. Distinct phase segregation of hydrophobic and hydrophilic blocks was evident through DSC analysis. 相似文献

Binary biopolymeric beads of alginate and pectin were prepared and characterized by FTIR spectra. On to the surfaces of the prepared beads were performed static and dynamic adsorption studies of Cu(II) ions at fixed pH and ionic strength of the aqueous metal ion solutions. The adsorption data were applied to Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm equations and various adsorption parameters were calculated. The removal of Hg(II) ions from aqueous solution by adsorption onto cross-linked polymeric beads of carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and sodium alginate was studied at fixed pH (6) and room temperature 28 ± 0.2°C. The cross-linked polymeric beads were characterized by FTIR spectra. Sorption capacity of the polymer for the mercury ions was investigated in aqueous media consisting different amounts of mercury ions (2.5 to 100 mg dm?3) and at different pH values (2 to 8). Adsorption behavior of Hg(II) ions could be modeled using both the Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms. The dynamic nature of adsorption was quantified in terms of several kinetic constants such as rate constants for adsorption (k1) and Lagergreen rate constant (Kad). Kinetics of sorption of Pu(IV) by smectite-rich clay has been studied at varying metal ion concentrations. Different concentrations were achieved using different isotopes of Pu, namely, 239Pu, 238Pu and 237Pu. 237Pu was produced by alpha induced reaction on 235U, followed by radiochemical separation of Pu from irradiated U3O8 target. The concentrations used are above and below the solubility of Pu(IV) under neutral pH conditions, thereby, indicating the mechanism of sorption reactions of Pu(IV) in typical laboratory experiments and field level observations. Kinetics of Pu(IV) at 10?13 M concentration was found to be fast whereas at higher metal concentration the rate is governed by a slow step, indicating the role of formation of Pu(IV) polymeric species at the sorbent surface. 相似文献

To investigate the nature of interactive forces between sulfadiazene molecules and alumina surface the experiments were performed for the adsorption of sulfadiazene (SD) from its aqueous sulution onto the alumina surfaces at 25 ± 0.2°C and the influence of factors such as increasing concentration of SD (4.0–20.0 × 10–3 mol cm–3), the time required for adsorption equilibrium, pH (2.0–12.0) and temperature (5–45°C) of the adsorption medium, the presence of ions like Cl–, SO2–
4 and PO3–
4 (0.01–0.30 M) and organic solvents (5% v/v) were observed on the course of adsorption of SD. Various adsorption and kinetic parameters such as adsorption coefficient, the rate constants for adsorption and desorption were also evaluated. The results of the above cited studies facilitated to formulate the mechanisms of interaction between SD and alumina surfaces. The chemical modification of Plantago psyllium mucilage (Psy), an anionic polysaccharide, was done by grafting polyacrylamide (PAM) chains to prepare a graft-copolymer (Psy-g-PAM). It was synthesized in the presence of nitrogen using ceric ammonium nitrate–nitric acid redox initiator and characterized by IR spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and viscosity measurements. This grafted copolymer was tested for its flocculation efficiency in textile wastewater by the standard Jar test method. The effects of polymer concentration, pH and contact time on the percentage removal of solid wastes [total dissolved solids (TDS) and suspended solids (SS)] and color from textile effluent are reported. The optimum dose was found to be 1.6 mg l–1, at which maximum solid removal (SS and TDS) was seen. The most suitable pH for TDS and color removal was neutral (7.0) and for SS removal alkaline pH (9.2) was found to be most suitable. The optimum treatment duration for solid waste removal was 5 h. The X-ray diffraction analysis of Psy-g-PAM and solid waste before and after treatment suggests the interaction of the solid waste and Psy-g-PAM copolymer. 相似文献

Electron cyclotron plasma reactor are prone to instabilities in specific input power [3–7] region (150–450 watts). In this
region power absorption by gas molecules in the cavity is very poor and enhanced input power gets reflected substantially
without increasing ion density. There are abrupt changes in plasma characteristics when input power was decreased from maximum
to minimum, it was observed that reflected power changed from <2% to ∼50%. Minimum two jumps in reflected power were noticed
in this specific power region and these appear to be highly sensitive to three stub tuner position in the waveguide for this
particular input power zone. Unstable plasma region of this source is found to be dependent upon the magnetic field strength.
Some changes in reflected power are also noticed with pressure, flow and bias and they are random in nature. 相似文献

The present work describes ceric ammonium nitrate (CAN) initiated graft copolymerization of acrylamide onto cellulose-based filter paper followed by entrapment of silver nanoparticles. The copolymerization was carried out in aqueous solution, containing 2 M acrylamide monomer and 16 mM N,N’-methylene bisacrylamide (MB) crosslinker. The optimum initiation time and grafting reaction temperature were found to be 15 min and 30 °C, respectively. The silver nanoparticles were loaded into grafted filter paper by equilibration in silver nitrate solution followed by citrate reduction. The formation of silver nanoparticles has been confirmed by TEM and SAED analysis. The novel nano silver loaded filter paper has been investigated for its antimicrobial properties against E.coli. This newly developed material shows strong antibacterial property and thus offers its candidature for possible use as antibacterial food-packaging material. 相似文献
