Theoretical Study of the Low-Lying Excited States of Butoxy Radicals and Non-Radiative Decay Routes

The potential energy surfaces for the butoxy radical dissociation into R·＋O on the six low-lying electronic states have been determined with the combined CASSCF and MR-CI methods. The isomerization reactions between the different conformers of 1- and 2-butoxy radicals at the X and B states have been also investigated with the MP2, B3LYP, and CASSCF methods. The non-radiative decay mechanisms of butoxy radicals at the B state have been characterized with the computed potential energy surfaces and intersections. Supported by recent LIF experimental results, it was predicted that the t-butoxy radical would predissociate via the B/C intersection. As to 1- and 2-butoxy radicals, the relative energies of the transition states for the isomerization reactions between conformers at the B state are much lower than those of the B/C intersections, resulting in the predominance of the isomerization in the decay of the B state for 1- and 2-butoxy radicals.

 报道了一台灯泵浦大功率连续Nd:YAG激光器。对影响大功率固体激光器模块输出功率和光束质量的主要因素进行了理论分析，并提出提高激光器效率的措施：对聚光腔的形状、结构和材料以及冷却方式，泵浦灯的参数和材料，激光晶体的参数和镀膜进行优化设计，采用径向固定的谐振腔镜。该灯泵浦YAG晶体棒总体电光转换效率为4%，光束质量为22mm·mrad，输出功率647W。

Experimental demonstration of underwater optical wireless power transfer using a laser diode

We experimentally demonstrate an underwater optical wireless power transfer(OWPT) using a laser diode(LD)as a power transmitter. We investigate the characteristics of a solar cell and a photodiode(PD) as a power receiver. We optimize the LD, the PD, and the solar cell to achieve the maximum transfer efficiency. The maximum transfer efficiency of the back-to-back OWPT is measured as 4.3% with the PD receiver. Subsequently, we demonstrate the OWPT in tap and sea water. Our result shows an attenuation of 3 dB/m in sea water.     

Production of annular flat-topped vortex beams

A model of an annular flat-topped vortex beam based on multi-Gaussian superimposition is proposed.We experimentally produce this beam with a computer-generated hologram(CGH) displayed on a spatial light modulator(SLM).The power of the beam is concentrated on a single-ring structure and has an extremely strong radial intensity gradient.This beam facilitates various applications ranging from Sisyphus atom cooling to micro-particle trapping.
