Beam quality degradation during the transition from a laser wakefield accelerator to the vacuum is one of the reasons that cause the beam transport distortion, which hinders the way to compact free-electron-lasers. Here,we performed transition simulation to initialize the beam parameters for beam optics transport. This initialization was crucial in matching the experimental results and the designed evolution of the beamline. We experimentally characterized properties of high-quality laser-wakefield-accelerated electron beams, such as transverse beam profile, divergence, and directionality after long-distance transport. By installing magnetic quadrupole lenses with tailored strength gradients, we successfully collimated the electron beams with tunable energies from 200 to 600 MeV. 相似文献

针对啁啾脉冲放大技术建成的钛宝石激光装置,提出一种获得高重复率激光脉冲列的方法.通过改变钛宝石再生放大器中泡克耳斯盒电光开关的传统工作模式,使得腔内放大的脉冲从某特定时刻起,每当在腔内往返一次就以一定的倒出比例(倒出率)倒出腔内脉冲能量的一部分,从而可以在有限的时间段内产生高重复率的啁啾激光脉冲列.基于Franz-Nodvik放大理论,建立了该高重复率再生放大器的理论模型,通过数值计算,系统地分析了初始增益、倒出时刻、倒出率对输出的脉冲序列的影响.在抽运功率为35mJ、倒出率为1/2的实验条件下,通过腔外的脉冲数量选择器,在一个抽运周期内的有限时间段内已获得了14个幅度相近、单脉冲能量约为0.02mJ、重复率为100MHz的啁啾脉冲序列.从此啁啾脉冲列中选取数个脉冲,通过10TW级的激光系统放大和压缩,已获得100MHz重复率的飞秒太瓦级脉冲列.

Property of the phase of the reemitted field in the semiconductor quantum wells (QWs) excited by femtosecond pulse train is investigated. It is shown that the phase evolution of the reemitted field is controlled by the relative phase between the successive pulses of the incident train. For all the odd pulses excitation, the reemitted field is from out-of-phase to in-phase, then again to out-of-phase with the incident pulses, whereas for all the even pulses excitation, the situation is the opposite, i.e., it is from in-phase to out-of-phase, then again to in-phase with the incident pulses. 相似文献

Spatiotemporal propagation dynamics of intense optical pulses in loosely confined gas-filled hollow-core fibers

We numerically study the propagation dynamics of intense optical pulses in gas-filled hollow-core fibers(HCFs). The spatiotemporal dynamics of the pulses show a transition from tightly confined to loosely confined characteristics as the fiber core is increased, which manifests as a deterioration in the spatiotemporal uniformity of the beam. It is found that using the gas pressure gradient does not enhance the beam quality in large-core HCFs, while inducing a positive chirp in the pulse to lower the peak power can improve the beam quality. This indicates that the self-focusing effect in the HCFs is the main driving force for the propagation dynamics. It also suggests that pulses at longer wavelengths are more suitable for HCFs with large cores because of the lower critical power of self-focusing, which is justified by the numerical simulations. These results will benefit the generation of energetic few-cycle pulses in large-core HCFs. 相似文献

Electron localization in the dissociation of the symmetric linear molecular ion H_3~(2+) is investigated. The numerical simulation shows that the electron localization distribution is dependent on the central frequency and peak electric field amplitude of the external ultrashort ultraviolet laser pulse. When the electrons of the ground state are excited onto the 2pσ~2Σ_u~+ by a one-photon process, most electrons of the dissociation states are localized at the protons on both sides symmetrically. Almost no electron is stabilized at the middle proton due to the odd symmetry of the wave function. With the increase of the frequency of the external ultraviolet laser pulse, the electron localization ratio of the middle proton increases, for more electrons of the ground state are excited onto the higher 3pσ~2Σ_u~+ ustate. 50.9% electrons of all the dissociation events can be captured by the middle Coulomb potential well through optimizing the central frequency and peak electric field amplitude of the ultraviolet laser pulse. Besides, a direct current(DC) electric field can be utilized to control the electron motions of the dissociation states after the excitation of an ultraviolet laser pulse, and 68.8% electrons of the dissociation states can be controlled into the middle proton. 相似文献

We have investigated the behaviour of an atom-cavity system via a stimulated Raman adiabatic passage technique in a four-level system, in which two dark states are present. We find, because of the coherent control field, that a superposition of Fock states can be prepared, even when the cavity is initially not in its vacuum state. This method provides a way to generate arbitrary quantum states of a cavity field. 相似文献

We show that the detection of ionization of very large van der Waals clusters in a pulsed jet or a beam can be realized by using a fast ion gauge. Rapid positive feedback electron impact ionization and fragmentation processes, which are initially ignited by electron impact ionization of the krypton clusters with the electron current of the ion gauge, result in the appearance of a progressional oscillation-like ion spectrum, or just of a single fast event under critical conditions. Each line in the spectrum represents a correlated explosion or avalanche ionization of the clusters.
