Cherenkov radiation waves in inhomogeneous dusty plasma

A kinetic theory is employed to study Cherenkov wave in an inhomogeneous dusty plasma. Two different frequency regimes are considered incorporating the plasma species temperatures. The dispersion relation for one-dimensional Cherenkov wave is derived and analyzed. The plasma species temperatures, their cyclotron frequencies, and the plasma density inhomogeneity effect the growth/damping of Cherenkov waves. It is shown that the plasma inhomogeneity contributes to damping of Cherenkov waves.     

Microwave-assisted synthesis,antimicrobial, antiquorum-sensing and cytotoxic activities of a new series of isatin-β-thiocarbohydrazones

Abstract

New isatin-β-thiocarbohydrazone hybrids 4-17 were designed relied on isatin scaffold to generate various analogs with expected antimicrobial activity. The new hybrids were estimated for antibacterial effectiveness over S. aureus, B. cereus and E. coli, and antifungal efficacy over C. albicans and A. fumigatus. Compound 14 evinced the highest efficacy over A. fumigatus and C. albicans. In addition, 5 and 12 showed eminent efficacy toward A. fumigatus, where compounds 4, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15 and 16 exhibited moderate activity over the same fungus. Moreover, 6 and 9 displayed moderate activity over C. albicans. The new compounds were also estimated for antiquorum-sensing effectiveness against C. violacium, where compound 17 showed interesting activity. In vitro cytotoxicity assay of the new analogs was done over Hela and COS-7 cancer cell lines. All analogs have IC₅₀ values >50?μM toward both cell lines.     

Synthesis,characterization, and biological activity of Cd(II) and Mn(II) coordination polymers based on pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid

The coordination polymers (CPs) {[Cd(Pydc)(H₂O)₃] · PydcH₂} (I) and [Mn(Pydc)(H₂O)₃] · PydcH2} (II) were obtained by the reaction of CdSO₄ · 5H₂O or MnCl₂ · 4H₂O with pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid (PydcH₂). The structures of the CPs I and II were characterized by IR, UV-Vis, TGA, and X-ray single crystal analysis (CIF files CCDC nos. 1417757 (I), 1417758 (II)). The network structures of I and II are constructed by an infinite number of discrete binuclear molecules and free PydcH2. The structures of the CPs I and II connected by the extensive H-bonds and π–π stacking, forming a 3D-network. The CPs I and II were screened to test their antimicrobial activities against different species of bacteria and fungi.     

Synthesis,antimicrobial, antiquorum-sensing and cytotoxic activities of new series of benzothiazole derivatives

New series of benzothiazole derivatives were designed and synthesized. The newly synthesized compounds were screened for their antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus cereus. Compounds 6j and 6o showed the highest activity against E. coli and S. aureus. The antifungal activity of these compounds was also tested against Candida albicans and Aspergillus fumigatus293. Compounds 4c, 4g and 6j exhibited the highest activity against C. albicans. In addition, compounds4 a and 6j displayed promising activity against A. fumigatus 293. The same compounds were examined for their antiquorum-sensing activity against Chromobacterium violaceum ATCC 12472, whereas compounds4 a, 6j and 6p showed moderate activity. The in vitro cytotoxicity testing of the synthesized compounds was performed against cervical cancer(Hela) and kidney fibroblast cancer(COS-7) cell lines. Results indicated that all tested compounds have IC50 values 50 mmol/L against both cell lines. Molecular properties, toxicities, drug-likeness, and drug score profiles of compounds 4a–c, 5a, 6g,h, 6j, 6l, 6o and7 c,d were also assessed.

We also give a necessary and sufficient condition in order that the linear differential operator with unbounded coefficients has a bounded inverse in the scalar case.     

Image transmission over mobile Bluetooth networks with enhanced data rate packets and chaotic interleaving

Bluetooth is a wireless personal area network. This type of networks is widely used for image communication. This paper presents a study for the transmission of images over mobile Bluetooth networks. It presents a novel chaotic interleaving scheme for this purpose. In this scheme, the chaotic Baker map is used for bit interleaving and enhanced data rate packets are used for data transmission. In the proposed scheme, the chaotic interleaver can be applied on the whole bit stream or on a packet-by-packet basis. The proposed scheme is applied with 2DH₁, 2DM₁, 3DH₅, and 3DM₅ packets. A comparison study between the proposed scheme and the traditional interleaving schemes for image transmission over correlated and uncorrelated fading channels is presented. The simulation results show the superiority of the proposed scheme over the traditional schemes. The proposed scheme also adds a degree of security to data transmission.
