Lattice QCD: The case of parton densities

The accuracy of structure functions computations on the lattice may become comparable to experimental determinations. Measurement of the $b\overline{b}$ production cross section in 920 GeV fixed-target proton-nucleus collisions

Using the HERA - B detector, the production cross section has been measured in 920 GeV proton collisions on carbon and titanium targets. The production was tagged via inclusive bottom quark decays into by exploiting the longitudinal separation of decay vertices from the primary proton-nucleus interaction. Both e ⁺ e ^- and channels have been reconstructed and the combined analysis yields the cross section . Measurement of the neutron electric form factor via recoil polarimetry

The ratio G _e ⁿ /G _m ⁿ of the electric to the magnetic form factor of the neutron has been measured by analyzing the polarization of the recoiling neutron in quasi-elastic scattering of longitudinally polarized electrons from deuterium at the Q ² values of 0.45, 1.15, and 1.47 (GeV/c)². The experiment has been performed in Hall C of the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility. With G _m ⁿ being known G _e ⁿ can be deduced. NONLOCAL INITIAL PROBLEM FOR NONLINEAR NONAUTONOMOUS DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS IN A BANACH SPACE

The nonlocal initial problem for nonlinear nonautonomous evolution equati-ons in a Banach space is considered. It is assumed that the nonlinearities havethe local Lipschitz properties. The existence and uniqueness of mild solutionsare proved. CRYSTAL AND MOLECULAR STRUCTURE OF A NOVEL Au Ag SUPRACLUSTER COMPOUND [Au_13Ag_12(μ-Br)_4(μ_3-Br)_2(Ph_3P)_10-

<正> [Au13Ag12(μ-Br)1(μ3-Br)2 (Ph3P)10Br2] Br, monoclinic. space group C2/m, a = 36. 496(17). b=16. 878(7), c-=19. 772(9) A , β=99. 87(5)°, V=11998. 9 A3.Z=2. The final R(Rw) is 0. 097(0. 109) for 3779 reflections with I>3σ(I). The structure can he considered as two icosahedral cluster units (AurAg6) sharing one vertex and linked hy six bromine atoms. The Au - Au, Au - Ag. and Ag-Ag distances fall in the ranges of 2. 69-2. 96. 2. 84-3. 02. and 2. 92-3. 26 A, respectively.     

Inclusive\bar K^{0*} (892) andK 0*(892) production on silicon by 200 GeVK − andπ −

The production of the neutralK ^? (892) resonances by 200 GeVK ^? andπ ^? has been studied over the kinematic range 0.0<x _f<1.0 andp _t ² <5.0 GeV². Longitudinal and transverse momentum distributions are presented. In addition the decay angular distributions inK ^? fragmentation to \(\bar K^{0*} \) have been investigated.     

Study of the reactione + e −→K + K − in the energy range1350 \leqq \sqrt s \leqq 2400 MeV

Thee ⁺ e ^?→K ⁺ K ^? cross section has been measured from about 750 events in the energy interval \(1350 \leqq \sqrt s \leqq 2400 MeV\) with the DM2 detector at DCI. TheK ^± form factor |F _F ^±| cannot be explained by the ρ, ω, ? and ρ′(1600). An additional resonant amplitude at 1650 MeV has to be added as suggested by a previous experiment.
