) NH2 (2B1)+H (2S) involving the lowest triplet electronic state of NH3 were calculated using multi-configuration (MC) SCF methods. The calculated change of internal energy for the reaction of 11.0 kcal mol–1 agrees with the experimental value within 2 kcal mol–1. The barrier to reaction is 23.4 kcal mol–1 high. The harmonic MCSCF reaction-path potential was calculated and canonical variational transition state theory calculations of the rate constants performed over a temperature range from 400 to 2500 K. The computed rate constants are generally two orders of magnitude smaller than those of the comparable reaction of OH with H2, whereas those of the reverse reaction are by a factor of 20 larger than those of OH2 with H. 相似文献

First-order relativistic corrections to the energy of closed-shell molecular systems are calculated, using all terms in the two-component Breit-Pauli Hamiltonian. In particular, we present the first implementation of the two-electron Breit orbit-orbit integrals, thus completing the first-order relativistic corrections within the two-component Pauli approximation. Calculations of these corrections are presented for a series of small and light molecules, at the Hartree-Fock and coupled-cluster levels of theory. Comparisons with four-component Dirac-Coulomb-Breit calculations demonstrate that the full Breit-Pauli energy corrections represent an accurate approximation to a fully relativistic treatment of such systems. The Breit interaction is dominated by the spin-spin interaction, the orbit-orbit interaction contributing only about 10% to the total two-electron relativistic correction in molecules consisting of light atoms. However, the relative importance of the orbit-orbit interaction increases with increasing nuclear charge, contributing more than 20% in H(2)S. 相似文献

The development of a general organocatalyst for the alpha-functionalization of aldehydes, via an enamine intermediate, is presented. Based on optically active alpha,alpha-diarylprolinol silyl ethers, the scope and applications of this catalyst for the stereogenic formation of C-C, C-N, C-F, C-Br, and C-S bonds are outlined. The reactions all proceed in good to high yields and with excellent enantioselectivities. [reaction: see text] The synthesis and characterization of water-soluble singlet oxygen sensitizers with a phenylene-vinylene motif is presented. The principal motivation for this study was to better understand specific features of a water-soluble molecule that influence the photosensitized production of singlet oxygen upon nonlinear, two-photon excitation of that molecule. To achieve water solubility, sensitizers were synthesized with ionic as well as nonionic substituents. In the ionic approach, salts of N-methylated pyridine, benzothiazole, and 1-methyl-piperazine moieties were used, as were aryl-substituted sulfonic acid moieties. In the nonionic approach, aryl-substituted triethylene glycol moieties were used. Selected photophysical properties of the compounds synthesized were determined, including singlet oxygen quantum yields. Of the molecules examined, the most efficient singlet oxygen sensitizers had triethylene glycol units as the functional group that imparted water solubility. Molecules containing the ionic moieties did not make singlet oxygen in appreciable yield nor did they efficiently fluoresce. Rather, for these latter molecules, rapid charge-transfer-mediated non-radiative processes appear to dominate excited state deactivation. 相似文献

Recent relativistic calculations on the uranyl ion suggest that the low wave numbers of the first electron transfer bands are due to a bonding 5f-like orbital containing the two loosest bound electrons. The mechanism for the 2,5-diphenylpyrrolidine-catalyzed enantioselective alpha-chlorination of aldehydes with electrophilic halogenation reagents has been investigated by using experimental and computational methods. These studies have led us to propose a mechanism for the reaction that proceeds through an initial N-chlorination of the chiral catalyst-substrate complex, followed by a 1,3-sigmatropic shift of the chlorine atom to the enamine carbon atom. The suggested reaction course is different from previously proposed mechanisms for organocatalytic enamine reactions, in which the carbon-electrophile bond is formed directly. Using instrumental neutron activation analysis, the variations in the serum levels of Br, Cs, Na, Rb, Se, and Zn were investigated
in 18 persons in the normal state. By determining the element levels in relation to changes is the serum water content, information

The influence of preparation temperature on the size and size distribution of dodecylthiol monolayer protected gold clusters was studied. The monolayer protected clusters (MPCs) were synthesized by two different variations of the Brust-Schiffrin procedure. In all of the experiments, the stoichiometry of the reactants dodecylthiol, HAuCl(4), and sodium borohydride was kept constant, while the temperature was varied in the range of -18 to +90 degrees C. Two series were performed in which an aqueous solution of NaBH(4) was either added over 30 s or all in one portion. The size and size distribution of the MPCs were determined by small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). It has been demonstrated that in general the MPC size increases with elevated preparation temperatures. 相似文献
