Surfactants are one of the major pollutants in laundry powder, which have an impact on the environment and human health. Carbon quantum dots (CQDs) are spherical zero-dimensional fluorescent nanoparticles with great potential for fluorescent probing, electrochemical biosensing and ion sensing. Herein, a bottom-up approach was developed for the synthesis of CQDs from biomass to detect laundry detergent and laundry powder. Waste chicken bones were used as carbon precursors after being dried, crushed and reacted with pure water at 180 °C for 4 h to generate CQDs, which exhibited a monodisperse quasi-spherical structure with an average particle size of 3.2 ± 0.2 nm. Functional groups, including -OH, C=O, C=C and C-O, were identified on the surface of the prepared CQDs. The optimal fluorescence excitation wavelength of the yellow-brown CQDs was 380 nm, with a corresponding emission peak at 465 nm. CQDs did not significantly increase cell death in multiple cell lines at concentrations of 200 µg·mL−1. Fluorescence enhancement of CQDs was observed after addition of sodium dodecyl benzene sulphonate, a major anionic surfactant in laundry powder. A linear relationship between fluorescence enhancement CQDs and the concentration of laundry powder was established. The L-[1-13C]phenylalanine breath test (PheBT) could potentially advance the evaluation of hepatocyte function and liver functional reserve. However, because the factors influencing PheBT results have not been clarified, the clinical application of the test has been limited. This study investigated the relationship between the parameters of PheBT, performed with air isotope ratio mass spectrometry, and the activity of phenylalanine hydroxylase (PAH), the phenylalanine metabolism rate-limiting enzyme, in rat liver, and proposes valid parameters for the assessment of liver function. Chronic injury to the liver was induced by the administration of CCl4 to male Sprague-Dawley rats for either 8 or 12 weeks. Livers from rats in the two cirrhotic groups were discolored, enlarged and roughly textured, with cells filled with fat granules of various sizes, pseudolobuli formations, and regenerated tubercles. Of the 12 parameters tested, only the unit liver weight (LW) breath test parameters, including the maximum abundance of 13C in breath (13Cmax/LW), 13C abundance in breaths 2 and 7 min after administration of L-[1-(13)C]phenylalanine (13C-phe) (13C2/LW and 13C7/LW), cumulative 13C excretion 10 and 30 min after 13C-phe administration (AUC10/LW and AUC30/LW), and the 13C excretion rate constant (PheBT-k/LW) were significantly affected in the chronic liver injury groups. There was no significant difference in the total PAH activity in liver among the three groups, but there was significant difference in unit LW PAH activity. Total PAH activity in the liver was significantly correlated with 13Cmax, 13C2, 13C7, AUC10, AUC30 and PheBT-k, while the unit LW PAH activity was significantly correlated with 13Cmax/LW, 13C2/LW, 13C7/LW, AUC10/LW, AUC30/LW and PheBT-k/LW. PheBT-k/LW was also correlated with biochemical indices that are used to assess liver function. The present findings indicate that the PheBT results based on air isotope ratio mass spectrometry can quantitatively reflect the change in total PAH activity in the livers of chronically injured rats. PheBT-k and PheBT-k/LW are the most sensitive among the test parameters, and can be used to assess liver functional reserve and hepatocyte damage at the molecular level. 相似文献

Template-free cross-linking of single-stranded DNA bearing octadiynyl side chains at the 7-position of 8-aza-7-deazapurine moieties with bisfunctional azides is reported employing a Cu(I)-catalyzed azide-alkyne "bis-click" reaction. Bis-adducts were formed when the bis-azide:oligonucleotide ratio was 1:1; monofunctionalization occurred when the ratio was 15:1. Four-stranded DNA consisting of two cross-linked duplexes was obtained after hydridization. We successfully synthesized the first hemin-montmorillonite bio-conjugate with an amino acid residue to mimic natural peroxidase enzyme. Histamine was intercalated in montmorillonite by cation exchange, then a hemin molecule was loaded onto the histamine-montmorillonite with an adsorption capacity of 7.0 mg g-1. The hemin-histamine-montmorillonite conjugate shows high peroxidase activity as indicated by the oxidation of guaiacol, which is attributed to the activation of hemin by Fe–N complex formation between the imidazole group in histamine and the iron ion in the hemin molecule. Temperature- dependent peroxidase activity for this synthesized biomimetic material indicates that raising the reaction temperature could significantly enhance the activity of the conjugate. The biomimetic catalyst has good reusability; nearly 100% activity can be retained after three cycles. Because montmorillonite clay is widely distributed in the environment, this material offers great potential for in situ and ex situ remediation of many organic contaminants in surface/subsurface soils. 相似文献

A reliable LC-MS method has been applied for the separation and identification of major constituents of the rhizome of Smilacis glabrae. Identification of the constituents was carried out by interpretation of their retention time, and MS and MS/MS data, especially by comparing these with Sarcandra glabra under the same LC-MS conditions, as well as the data provided by the literature. Thirty-three compounds, including catechin derivatives, flavanonols, phenolic acid derivatives and phenylpropanoid glycosides were either identified or tentatively characterized. Among them, compound 12 was deduced to be a new phenylpropanoid-substituted catechin. Fragmentation behaviors of the three major categories of compounds were also investigated. This UPLC-PDA/ESI-MS(n) method was effective for the separation and identification of the constituents and could be the basis for the comprehensive quality control of Smilacis glabrae. 相似文献

The coordination of actinides and lanthanides, as well as strontium and cesium with graphdiyne (GDY) was studied experimentally and theoretically. On the basis of experimental results and/or theoretical calculations, it was suggested that Th4+, Pu4+, Am3+, Cm3+, and Cs+ exist in single‐ion states on the special triangular structure of GDY with various coordination patterns, wherein GDY itself is deformed in different ways. Both experiment and theoretical calculations strongly indicate that UO22+, La3+, Eu3+, Tm3+ and Sr2+ are not adsorbed by GDY at all. The distinguished adsorption behaviors of GDY afford an important strategy for highly selective separation of actinides and lanthanides, Th4+ and UO22+, and Cs+ and Sr2+, in the nuclear fuel cycle. Urea can improve the solubility and stability of cellulose in aqueous alkali solution, while its role has not come to a conclusion. To reveal the role of urea in solution, NMR was introduced to investigate the interaction between urea and the other components in solution. Results from chemical shifts and longitudinal relaxation times show that: (1) urea has no strong direct interaction with cellulose as well as NaOH; (2) urea does not have much influence on the structural dynamics of water. Urea may play its role through van der Waals force. It may accumulate on the cellulose hydrophobic region to prevent dissolved cellulose molecules from re-gathering. The driving force for the self-assembly of cellulose and urea molecules might be hydrophobic interaction. In the process of cellulose dissolution, OH? breaks the hydrogen bonds, Na+ hydrations stabilize the hydrophilic hydroxyl groups and urea stabilizes the hydrophobic part of cellulose. 相似文献

Li-O2 batteries with ultrahigh theoretical energy densities usually suffer from low practical discharge capacities and inferior cycling stability owing to the cathode passivation caused by insulating discharge products and by-products. Here, a trifunctional ether-based redox mediator, 2,5-di-tert-butyl-1,4-dimethoxybenzene (DBDMB), is introduced into the electrolyte to capture reactive O2− and alleviate the rigorous oxidative environment of Li-O2 batteries. Thanks to the strong solvation effect of DBDMB towards Li+ and O2−, it not only reduces the formation of by-products (a high Li2O2 yield of 96.6 %), but also promotes the solution growth of large-sized Li2O2 particles, avoiding the passivation of cathode as well as enabling a large discharge capacity. Moreover, DBDMB makes the oxidization of Li2O2 and the decomposition of main by-products (Li2CO3 and LiOH) proceed in a highly effective manner, prolonging the stability of Li-O2 batteries (243 cycles at 1000 mAh g−1 and 1000 mA g−1). 相似文献
