Diels-alder reaction of 1-methylcycloprop-2-ene-1-carbonitrile with methyl 2-oxo-2H-pyran-5-carboxylate

The Diels-Alder reaction of 1-methylcycloprop-2-ene-1-carbonitrile and coumalic acid methyl ester (methyl 2-oxo-2H-pyran-5-carboxylate) gave a 2:1 adduct with endo-syn configuration of both cyclopropane fragments, which was established by X-ray analysis. According to the ¹H NMR data, the reaction involves intermediate formation of decarboxylated 1:1 adduct having a cycloheptatriene structure; its isomerization into the corresponding caradiene, followed by addition of the second dienophile molecule, was confirmed by quantum-chemical calculations.     

Modification of styrene-containing polymer with pinane. Possible applications of the product

The influence of high-temperature treatment on the properties of a styrene-containing polymer prepared from by-products of polybutadiene production was studied. Superior refractive index tailoring properties in composite ZrO2/SiO2 thin film systems achieved through reactive electron beam codeposition process

Composite optical thin-film materials have received a significant amount of interest in order to relieve the material constraints on refractive indices as well as reducing the number of layers required in optical coating design. Amongst others binary zirconia-silica composite thin films have attracted considerable attentions due to their several favorable opto-mechanical properties. In the present studies such a composite system under certain compositional mixings displayed both refractive index and band gap supremacy over pure zirconia films violating the most popular Moss rule. This unexpected evolution has several practical applications one of which can be directly employed in extending the range of tunability of the refractive index. Besides, the probing of such a novel evolution through the analysis of ellipsometric refractive index modeling and morphological correlation functions has revealed several novel as well as superior microstructural properties in the composite thin film systems. All these characterization and analysis techniques distinctly indicate a strong interrelation between the microstructural ordering and superior optical properties of the present zirconia-silica codeposited composites.     

Influence of Cd and Cr substitutions on the magnetization and permeability of magnesium ferrites

Magnetization and permeability of polycrystalline ferrites with general formula Cd_xMg_1−xFe_2−yCr_yO₄ (x=0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0; y=0, 0.05 and 0.10) were studied. Study of saturation magnetization reveals that the Neel's two-sublattice model exists upto x=0.4, for y=0, 0.05 and 0.1 and a three-sublattice model (YK-model) is predominant for x>0.4 and y=0, 0.05 and 0.10. The saturation magnetization and magnetic moment were found to decrease with the increase in Cr³⁺ contents, which is attributed to the dilution of B–B site interaction. Variation of initial permeability with temperature revealed the long-range ferromagnetic ordering in the compounds with x=0.4. The sample with x?0.4 and y=0, 0.05 and 0.10 showed peaking behavior near Curie temperature, which is attributed to the decrease of anisotropy constant K₁ to zero. Low-frequency dispersion of initial permeability suggests domain wall displacement. Addition of Cd²⁺ resulted in a sharp decrease in Curie temperature. With the addition of Cr³⁺, initial permeability was found to decrease.     

Au-Zn,TiPdAu电极对InGaAsP/InP双异质结发光管可靠性影响的研究

本文用AES研究了P-InP/TiPdAu热处理前后的界面特性,结果表明:TiPd层对Au的内扩散和In的扩散有阻挡作用。以TiPdAu作InGaAsP/InP双异质结发光管的p面电极、镀Au作热沉,采用In焊料,研究了器件的可靠性问题,在室温大气气氛中;70℃存储,70～80℃带电老化,三种条件下长时间考核结果表明:器件的I-V特性正常,末见正向压降明显变化。还比较了Au-Zn材料作p面电极用TiPdAu作肖脱基势垒限制层制成的器件和用TiPdAu作电极材料制成的深Zn扩散型器件在老化过程中的特性变化,后二种结构的器件,在长期老化过程中,有源区中有大面积DSD生长和增殖。     

A cellular automaton technique for modelling of a binary dendritic growth with convection

A two-dimensional model for the simulation of a binary dendritic growth with convection has been developed in order to investigate the effects of convection on dendritic morphologies. The model is based on a cellular automaton (CA) technique for the calculation of the evolution of solid/liquid (s/l) interface. The dynamics of the interface controlled by temperature, solute diffusion and Gibbs–Thomson effects, is coupled with the continuum model for energy, solute and momentum transfer with liquid convection. The solid fraction is calculated by a governing equation, instead of some approximate methods such as lever rule method [A. Jacot, M. Rappaz, Acta Mater. 50 (2002) 1909–1926.] or interface velocity method [L. Nastac, Acta Mater. 47 (1999) 4253; L. Beltran-Sanchez, D.M. Stefanescu, Mat. and Mat. Trans. A 26 (2003) 367.]. For the dendritic growth without convection, mesh independency of simulation results is achieved. The simulated steady-state tip velocity are compared with the predicted values of LGK theory [Lipton, M.E. Glicksmanm, W. Kurz, Metall. Trans. 18(A) (1987) 341.] as a function of melt undercooling, which shows good agreement. The growth of dendrite arms in a forced convection has been investigated. It was found that the dendritic growth in the upstream direction was amplified, due to larger solute gradient in the liquid ahead of the s/l interface caused by melt convection. In the isothermal environment, the calculated results under very fine mesh are in good agreement with the Oseen–Ivanstov solution for the concentration-driven growth in a forced flow.     

Synthesis of thiazolo[5,4-b]pyridine-2-carboxamides

A convenient procedure was developed for preparation of thiazolo[5,4-b]pyridine-2-carboxamides by oxidation of monothiooxamides synthesized from 3-aminopyridine.
