The structure of lappacontine hydrobromide hydrate was solved by an x-ray structure analysis.     

Study of the absorption spectra and ionic equilibria of cationic-anionic polymethine dyes

The absorption spectra of a number of cationic-anionic polymethine dyes in polar, low-polarity, and nonpolar solvents were studied. It was established that in polar solvents the absorption spectra represent the sum of the absorption spectra of the cation and anion, whereas in nonpolar and low-polarity solvents, in many cases the appearance of a short-wave absorption band is observed, due to interaction of the chromophores of the cation and anion in ion pairs. In solvents of intermediate polarity (for example, in chloroform and ethyl acetate), a concentration dependence of the absorption spectra is observed, determined by the equilibria of ionic dissociation. The ionic dissociation constants of a number of cationic-anionic dyes in chloroform and ethyl acetate were determined by a conductometric method. Triterpenoids from plants of the genus Tamarix

The taraxeran-14-ene-type triterpenoids methyl 3-β-al-D-fridoolean-14-en-28-oate (1), 3-α-[3″,4′-dihydroxytrans-cinnamoyl]-oxy-D-fridoolean-14-en-28-oic acid (2), and β-sitosterol (3) were isolated from the aerial part of plants from the genus Tamarix (T. laxa, T. elongata) (Tamaricaceae). The structures of the triterpenoids were proved using spectral data (IR, UV, PMR, ¹³C NMR, 2D NMR ¹H-¹H COSY, HMQC, HMBC, mass). Terpenoids of the oleoresin ofPinus kochiana

The chemical composition of the oleoresin of Koch's pine growing in the Caucasus has been studied. It has been shown that, with respect to the composition of the monoterpenes and the resin acids, the oleoresin of this species does not differ from oleoresins of the subgenusDiploxylon studied previously. Predominating among the sesquiterpenes is germacrene D, which has not previously been found in the resins of the conifers of the USSR. The diterpenoids are represented by tricyclic compounds (pimarinol, isopimarinol, and methyl 15-hydroxydehydroabietate and the hydrocarbons corresponding to them).

On the theory of scattering of electromagnetic waves in media with space-time velocity fluctuations

We express the effective permittivity tensor for a medium that is, on the average, motionless and nonstationary. It is shown that fast time pulsations of velocity lead to an increase in the average wave field and in the propagation velocity of an electromagnetic wave. Using a computer, we compare the surfaces of the frequency spectra of the strength of the scattered field for the Gaussian and diffusion components of the solenoidal velocity field.
