The structure of mixed fluorides Ca1?xSrxF2 and Sr1?xBaxF2 and the luminescence of Eu2+ in these crystals

The structure of the mixed fluorites Ca_1−x Sr_xF₂ and Sr_1−x Ba_xF₂, as well as the structure of the Eu²⁺ impurity center in these crystals, is calculated within the framework of the virtual-crystal method realized in the shell model and pair-potential approximation. The phenomenological dependence of the position of the lower level of the 4f ⁶5d configuration of the Eu²⁺ ion on distance to the Eu²⁺-ligand is derived. The dependences of the Stokes shift and the Huang-Rhys factor on x are calculated for the yellow luminescence in Sr_1−x Ba_xF₂:Eu²⁺. The value of x at which the lower level of the 4f ⁶5d configuration of the Eu²⁺ ion in Sr_1−x Ba_xF₂:Eu²⁺ falls within the conduction band is found. __________ Translated from Fizika Tverdogo Tela, Vol. 45, No. 5, 2003, pp. 823–826. Effect of temperature on the magnetoimpedance of an elastically deformed Fe<Subscript>4</Subscript>CO<Subscript>67</Subscript>Mo<Subscript>1.5</Subscript>Si<Subscript>16.5</Subscript>B<Subscript>11</Subscript> foil

The effect of temperature and elastic tensile stresses on the magnetoimpedance of an amorphous Vitrovac 6025Z (Fe₄CO₆₇Mo_1.5Si_16.5B₁₁) foil is studied. Two temperature ranges (20–70 and 70–220°C) in which the effect of elastic tensile stresses on the magnetoimpedance has different characters are detected. The existence of these two temperature ranges is shown to be caused by a change in the sign of a magnetostriction constant at 70°C.     

Tomographic probability representation for quantum fermion fields

Tomographic probability representation is introduced for fermion fields. The states of the fermions are mapped onto the probability distribution of discrete random variables (spin projections). The operators acting on the fermion states are described by fermionic tomographic symbols. The product of the operators acting on the fermion states is mapped onto the star-product of the fermionic symbols. The kernel of the star-product is obtained. The antisymmetry of the fermion states is formulated as a specific symmetry property of the tomographic joint probability distribution associated with the states.
