A finite element method for treating two-dimensional electron systems with Rashba spin–orbit interaction is developed. The Rashba spin–orbit interaction removes spin degeneracy, so that each spin contributes to the conductance differently. By accounting for the connection between a system and leads, this method yields the conductance of a nanoscale quantum device for each spin state. As an example, this calculation method is applied to a model of a quantum point contact. The results of this calculation indicate conductance quantization and a large spin polarization. We discuss the estimated accuracies of this calculation. 相似文献

Transportation, release behavior, and stability of a green fluorescent protein (GFP, 3×4 nm) in self‐assembled organic nanotubes with three different inner diameters (10, 20, and 80 nm) have been studied in terms of novel nanocontainers. Selective immobilization of a fluorescent acceptor dye on the inner surface enabled us to not only visualize the transportation of GFP in the nanochannels but to also detect release of the encapsulated GFP to the bulk solution in real time, based on fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET). Obtained diffusion constants and release rates of GFP markedly decreased as the inner diameter of the nanotubes was decreased. An endo‐sensing procedure also clarified the dependence of the thermal and chemical stabilities of the GFP on the inner diameters. The GFP encapsulated in the 10 nm nanochannel showed strong resistance to heat and to a denaturant. On the other hand, the 20 nm nanochannel accelerated the denaturation of the encapsulated GFP compared with the rate of denaturation of the free GFP in bulk and the encapsulated GFP in the 80 nm nanochannels. The confinement effect based on rational fitting of the inner diameter to the size of GFP allowed us to store it stably and without denaturation under high temperatures and high denaturant concentrations. 相似文献

were transformed into husk-like microcapsules in their aqueous suspensions when pH value increased. The thickness of the outer
shell of the husk-like microcapsule decreased as pH increased. Formation of the husk-like microcapsules is discussed to be
due to both diffusion of the constituent molecules from the inside of the microspheres and conformational changes of those
molecules in the process.

Electroreflectance (ER) spectroscopy was used for the estimation of the orientation of heme in a horse heart cytochrome c molecule immobilized on a self-assembled monolayer of 11-mercaptoundecanoic acid on both polycrystalline gold (Au) and single crystalline Au(111) electrodes. The intensity ratio of the ER signal of p-polarized incident light against s-polarized incident light as a function of the incident angle of the light was analyzed in two ways: a doubly degenerate transition for the Soret absorption band of the heme was assumed in one, and the anisotropy of the two orthogonal transitions was taken into account in the other. The doubly degenerate model failed in the expression of the experimental data, pointing to the existence of the anisotropy. Two orthogonal in-plane linear electric dipoles with different magnitudes were assumed to be responsible for the Soret band absorption in a new analysis procedure. This enabled us to fit the experimental data closely to the simulated data. The result revealed that the heme plane is near-vertical to the electrode surface. The need of clarification of the anisotropic heme transition was invoked. 相似文献

Solid-state batteries (SSBs) that use solid electrolytes instead of flammable liquid electrolytes have the potential to generate higher specific capacity and offer better safety. Magnesium (Mg) based SSBs with Mg metal anodes are considered to be one of the most promising energy storage candidates, because it gives high theoretical volumetric capacities of 3830 mAh cm−3. Here, we demonstrate an atomic layer deposition (ALD) process with a double nitrogen plasma process that successfully produces nitrogen-incorporated magnesium phosphorus oxynitride (MgPON) solid-state electrolyte (SSE) thin films at a low deposition temperature of 125 °C. The ALD MgPON SSEs exhibit an ionic conductivity of 0.36 and 1.2 μS cm−1 at 450 and 500 °C, respectively. The proposed ALD strategy shows the ability of conformal deposition nitrogen-doped SSEs on pattered substrates and is attractive for using nitride ion-conducing films as protective or wetting interlayers in solid-state Mg and Li batteries. 相似文献

We have investigated a novel technique for the preparation of nano-sized Pt metals on Ti-containing mesoporous silica (TMS) thin film by photo-assisted deposition (PAD). The transparent TMS thin film was prepared on a quartz plate through sol—gel/spin coating. XRD, UV-Vis and Ti K-edge XAFS measurements revealed the formation of isolated Ti oxide species with a tetrahedral-coordination geometry in the silica framework. Deposition of Pt metal precursor on TMS thin film under UV-light irradiation, followed by reduction with molecular hydrogen, afforded a transparent thin film (Pt/TMS). The formation of highly dispersed nano-sized Pt metals having narrow size distributions was determined by Pd LIII-edge XANES and TEM analysis. The TMS and Pt/TMS thin films have been demonstrated to exhibit a strong hydrophilic property, even before UV irradiation, compared to the common mesoporous silica and TiO2 thin films. After UV-light irradiation, the contact angle of water droplet on the TMS and Pt/TMS thin films became extremely lower, indicating the appearance of the photo-induced super-hydrophilic property. 相似文献

A new type of isocoumarins (=1H‐isochromen‐1‐ones=1H‐2‐benzopyran‐1‐ones), 4‐substituted 3,4‐dihydro‐3‐methoxyisocoumarins 2 , can be obtained by a one‐pot process from α‐substituted 2‐bromo‐β‐methoxystyrenes 1 . Thus, lithium 2‐(1‐aryl(or methyl)‐2‐methoxyethenyl)benzoates are conveniently generated via the Br/Li exchange between 1 and BuLi, followed by the action of CO2 on the resulting α‐substituted 2‐lithio‐β‐methoxystyrenes. Upon treating with concentrated HCl at room temperature, these lithium benzoates undergo lactonization to provide the desired 3,4‐dihydroisocoumarins 2 in relatively good yields. 相似文献
