A miniature valve that operates between a chip port and a tube fitting was developed. The valve functions by means of a rotor, 3 mm in diameter and 1.5 mm in height, made of Teflon, with a 0.2-mm diameter hole at its center that is co-axial with the tube fitting. It also has a radial groove, 0.85 mm long, 0.2 mm wide, and 0.2 mm deep, at the bottom surface, starting at its center. The chip port and the tube fitting have an offset of 0.75 mm, and, thus, the rotation of the rotor can make an on and off connection between the chip port and the groove, which is connected to the tubing. The valve had a pressure resistance of at least 1.0 MPa. The on-chip valve can be placed in position by adding only a single part, a valve rotor, and no changes in the fabrication of the glass microchip are required. Since the valve functions as a part of a connector, we refer to it as an on-chip connector valve. Immunoaffinity chromatography of a fluorescence-labeled recombinant antibody fragment was carried out in a glass microchip using the valves.  相似文献

We demonstrate superradiant conversion between a two-mode collective atomic state and a single-mode light field in an elongated cloud of Bose-condensed atoms. Two off-resonant write beams induce superradiant Raman scattering, producing two independent coherence gratings with different wave vectors in the cloud. By applying phase-matched read beams after a controllable delay, the gratings can be selectively converted into the light field also in a superradiant way. Because of the large optical density and the small velocity width of the condensate, a high conversion efficiency of >70% and a long storage time of >120 micros were achieved.  相似文献

A contracted doubly N‐confused dioxohexaphyrin derivative served as a dinucleating metal ligand for unsymmetrical coordination. The complexation of two palladium(II) cations led to the formation of π‐radical species that were persistent in atmospheric air in the presence of moisture. A new monoterpenylbenzoquinone named arnebifuranone (5) was isolated from arnebiaeuchroma (Royle) Johnst. and its structure was elucidated to be a 2,3-dimethoxy-1,4-benzoquinone having a monoterpene side chain containing a furan ring. ABSTRACT

An attempt was made to prepare a graft copolymer consisting of poly(methyl vinyl ketone) (PMVK) as a backbone chain and polyacrylonitrile, poly(4-vinylpyridine), or polystyrene as a graft chain by UV irradiation of a solution of PMKV in the presence of acrylonitrile, 4-vinylpyridine, or styrene. the influence of reaction conditions on the yield, composition, and viscosity of the resulting graft copolymers was investigated. It was suggested from NMR and gel permeation chromatography that those graft copolymers contained a high molecular weight fraction of narrow distribution and block copolymers as well. the reverse osmosis membranes derived from the oxime and amidoxime of the graft copolymers showed a characteristic performance of exhibiting a maximal difference between rejections against NaCl and CoCl2 at a certain addition ratio of crosslinking agent, which was not observed in the membranes from copolymers by conventional radical copolymerization. the relationship between these phenomena and the branching structure of the graft copolymers was discussed.  相似文献
