This paper presents experimental and theoretical results from an investigation of the excitation and propagation of converging
pressure waves in cylindrical shells made of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) producing spalling phenomena in the inner surface
of the shell. It is found that fracture of the inner surface of a cylindrical shell requires a greater load as compared to
the fracture of the rear side of a planar plate of the same material. The reasons for the observed phenomena are analyzed.
The experimental results are compared with the results of a numerical simulation that takes into account phenomena occurring
in the nonlinear region of elastoplastic deformation of polymer materials used as a base and in composite materials.

We briefly analyze systems of successive resonance compression of microwave pulses and present the results of a study of resonance compression in a system of coupled resonators with energy output via interference switches. A power gain of about 18 dB was experimentally achieved in the 3 cm wavelength interval in a two-stage system with a superdimensional resonator in the first stage and a single-mode resonator in the second stage with output pulse duration of about 2.5 ns, peak power 3 MW, and efficiency 17 %. 相似文献

The TITAN source generates wide-aperture beams of gas and metal ions of different materials. This is achieved because of two
types of cold-cathode arc discharges, which operate simultaneously in the discharge system of the source. For metal ions to
be obtained, use is made of the vacuum arc initiated between an ion-forming cathode and a hollow anode. To produce gas ions,
a constricted low-pressure arc discharge is initiated with the same hollow anode. The constitution of ion beams generated
by the TITAN source has been investigated using a homemade time-of-flight spectrometer. This paper describes the design of
the latter and the principle of its operation, and discusses the physical peculiarities of the spectrometer operation, which
affect the ion beam constitution.

We introduce variation of a vector δx which can be interpreted either as a virtual displacement of a system, or as variation of the velocity of a system, or as variation of the acceleration of a system. This vector is used to obtain a unified form of differential variational principles of mechanics from the scalar representative equations of motion. Conversely, this notation implies the original equations of motion, which enables one to consider the obtained scalar products as principles of mechanics. Using the same logical scheme, one constructs a differential principle on the basis of the vector equation of constrained motion of a mechanical system. In this form of notation, it is proposed to conserve the zero scalar products of reactions of ideal constraints and the vector δx. This enables one to obtain also the equations involving generalized constrained forces from this form of notation. 相似文献
