Summary A new transition state algorithm incorporated into the density functional code deMon, has been used to study thetrans cis-hydroxymethylene andtrans-hydroxymethylene formaldehyde isomerization processes and to localize the transition state for the decomposition of 1,3-diazacyclobutane to methyleneimine. Calculations have been performed using both local (LSD) and nonlocal spin density (NLSD) gradient-corrected approximations. Two different basis sets of small and large size have been used for the study in order to analyze the effect of the basis set dimension other than that of the nonlocal corrections on the activation energy barrier value. The results seem to confirm that density functional methods can be considered practical and reliable tools for the localization of transition states.  相似文献

We consider a scheduling problem where a set of n jobs has to be processed on a set of m machines and arbitrary precedence constraints between operations are given. Moreover, for any two operations i and j values a ij >0 and a ji >0 may be given where a ij is the minimal difference between the starting times of operations i and j when operation i is processed first. Often, the objective is to minimize the makespan but we consider also arbitrary regular criteria. Even the special cases of the classical job shop problem J//Cmax belong to the set of NP-hard problems. Therefore, approximation or heuristic algorithms are necessary to handle large-dimension problems. Based on the mixed graph model we give a heuristic decomposition algorithm for such a problem, i.e. the initial problem is partitioned into subproblems that can be solved exactly or approximately with a small error bound. These subproblems are obtained by a relaxation of a subset of the set of undirected edges of the mixed graph. The subproblems are successively solved and a proportion of the results obtained for one subproblem is kept for further subproblem definitions. Numerical results of the algorithm presented here are given.  相似文献

Steady-state chaotic vibrations of a shallow shell as a system with a nonsymmetrical restoring force and one equilibrium state are considered. Mode interaction and its effect on a chaotic behavior of the shell is studied. The terms "natural" and "imposed" chaos are introduced for the response of resonant and nonresonant modes. It is shown that such a qualitative difference is important for better understanding of chaos in systems with distributed parameters, and may be very useful for numerical investigations. Using a version of density-functional theory which combines Onsager approximation and fundamental-measure theory for spatially nonuniform phases, we have studied the phase diagram of freely rotating hard rectangles and hard discorectangles. We find profound differences in the phase behavior of these models, which can be attributed to their different packing properties. Interestingly, bimodal orientational distribution functions are found in the nematic phase of hard rectangles, which cause a certain degree of biaxial order, albeit metastable with respect to spatially ordered phases. This feature is absent in discorectangles, which always show unimodal behavior. This result may be relevant in the light of recent experimental results which have confirmed the existence of biaxial phases. We expect that some perturbation of the particle shapes (either a certain degree of polydispersity or even bimodal dispersity in the aspect ratios) may actually destabilize spatially ordered phases thereby stabilizing the biaxial phase.  相似文献

Copper(salen) complex 1 has been found to catalyse the asymmetric alkylation of enolates derived from a variety of amino acids. There is a clear relationship between the size of the side chain in the substrate and the enantioselectivity of the process, so that the enantioselectivity decreases in the order alanine>aminobutyric acid>allylglycine>leucine>phenylalanine>valine. A transition state model which accounts for the influence of the size of the side chain on the enantioselectivity of the reactions is presented.  相似文献

We present a new, general method for the controlled deposition of biological molecules on surfaces, based on a nanopipet operating in ionic solution. The potential applied to the pipet tip controls the flux of biological molecules from the pipet, allowing fine control of the delivery rate. We used the ion current to control the distance of the pipet from the surface of a glass slide and deposited the fluorescently labeled DNA or protein G at a defined location onto the surface. Features of 830 nm size were obtained by depositing the biotinylated DNA onto a streptavidin surface; 1.3 mum size spots were obtained by depositing protein G onto a positively charged glass surface.  相似文献

The title binaphthyls 19 and 26, which are the positional isomers of 2-methoxy-2'-(diphenylphosphino)-1,1'-binaphthyl (MOP, 19) and 2-amino-2'-hydroxy-1,1'-binaphthyl (NOBIN, 26), have been synthesized by Suzuki coupling as the key step (10 + 15-->18), followed by functional group transformations, involving C-P and C-N bond formation (18-->19 and 18-->23). Racemic intermediate 22 was resolved by co-crystallization with N-benzylcinchonidinium chloride and the absolute configuration determined by X-ray crystallography. These novel binaphthyls are configurationally stable and, as such, potentially usable as chiral ligands in asymmetric reactions. Michael addition of the glycine-derived enolate 40 to methyl acrylate, carried out in the presence of (R)-(-)-27 as the chiral phase-transfer catalyst, afforded L-glutamic acid (S)-(+)-43 of 92% ee (after hydrolysis of the primary product).  相似文献

MOSFETs can be divided into ISFETs, GasFETs, BioFETs, these sensors being sensitive to ion, gas, biomolecules respectively and there is also a possibility to fabricate MOSFET reference electrode (RefFET).
