Combination of mixed finite element and Dirichlet-to-Neumann methods in nonlinear plane elasticity

We study the solvability and Galerkin approximation of an exterior hyperelastic interface problem arising in plane elasticity. The weak formulation is obtained from an appropriate combination of a mixed finite element approach with a Dirichlet-to-Neumann method. The derivation of our results is based on some tools from nonlinear functional analysis and the Babuska-Brezzi theory for variational problems with constraints.     

On finite convolutions of singular distributions and a “singular analog” of the Jessen-Wintner theorem

We study the fractal properties of a convolution of two Cantor distributions. By using the method of characteristic functions, we establish sufficient conditions for the singularity of the convolution of an arbitrary finite number of distributions of random variables with independent s-adic digits. We disprove the hypothesis on the validity of a “singular analog” of the Jessen-Wintner theorem for anomalously fractal distributions. New method for the synthesis of 6-amino-4-aryl-3,5-dicyano-3,4-dihydropyridine-2(1H)-thiones by recyclization of 4-aryl-2,6-diamino-4H-thiopyranes

Ammonium 6-amino-4-aryl-3,5-dicyano-1,4-dihydropyridine-2-thiolates were synthesized by recyclization of 4-aryl-2,6-diamino-3,5-dicyano-4H-thiopyranes in the presence of organic bases. On acidification of the products, the corresponding substituted 3,4-dihydropyridine-2(1H)-thiones were obtained which were used in the synthesis of 2-alkylthio-1,4-dihydropyridines, bis-(pyridyl-2)disulfides and thieno[2,3-b]pyridines.Deceased.T. Second Quantization of the Stueckelberg Relativistic Quantum Theory and Associated Gauge Fields

The gauge compensation fields induced by the differential operators of the Stueckelberg-Schrödinger equation are discussed, as well as the relation between these fields and the standard Maxwell fields; An action is constructed and the second quantization of the fields carried out using a constraint procedure. The properties of the second quantized matter fields are discussed.

An application of radon inversion to diffraction tomography

Basic equations of linear computer tomography are considered; a connection of the mathermatical formulation of problems of computer tomography with problems of integral geometry is indicated; the properties of the Radon transform for even- and odd-dimensional spaces are analyzed, and applications of Radon inversion to problems of diffraction tomography are presented.
