Acid-base properties of 1-acyl-5-hydroxypyrazolidines in a hydrogen bond

In solutions, 1-acyl-5-hydroxypyrazolidines form only intermolecular hydrogen bonds in which the proton acceptor is the oxygen atom of the hydroxyl group. Reaction of 2,3,3-trimethyl-3H-indole hydrochloride with methacrylic and crotonic amides

Reaction of 2,3,3-trimethyl-and 2,3,3,5-tetramethyl-3H-indole hydrochlorides with methacrylic and crotonic amides gives 3- and 4-methyl-1,2,3,4,10,10a-hexahydropyrimido[1,2-a]indol-2-ones. With perchloric acid these are converted to 1-carbamoylpropyl-3H-indolium perchlorates. The syntheses of 10a-(4-dimethylaminostyryl)- and 10a-[(4-dimethylaminophenyl)butadienyl]-3,10,10-trimethylpyrimido[1,2-a]indol-2-ones have been studied.Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 5, pp. 625–627, May, 1990.     

Track membrane with immobilized colloid silver particles

A method for modification of track membranes by immobilization of polymer complexes of colloid silver nanoparticles on the surface of microfiltration membranes was developed. The antimicrobial properties of track membranes modified with silver nanoparticles were tested on E. coli, Ps. aeruginosa, St. aureus, and B. cereus.     

Molecular structure of 4,16-dichloro- and 4,16-dibromo[2.2]-paracyclophanes

Conclusions An x-ray diffraction structural analysis showed that the distortions in the geometries of sterically strained 4,16-dichloro- and 4,16-dibromo[2.2]paracyclophanes are similar to those found in unsubstituted [2.2]paracyclophane. The introduction of bulky halogen atoms at C⁴ and C¹⁶ in the [2.2]paracyclophane molecule does not lead to a marked increase in the steric repulsion of the benzene rings. The polar nature of the halogen atoms leads to dipole-dipole attraction of the antiparallel benzene rings which are drawn somewhat closer to each other and to the halogen atom of the other ring.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Seriya Khimicheskaya, No. 9, pp. 2007–2010, September, 1986.     

Conversion of pyrrolo[1,2-α]pyrazinium salts to 8-aminoindolizines

Modulation effects in the electron spin echo of trans bis-(2,2,5,5-tetramethyl-3-imidazoline-3-oxide-1-oxyl-4-il) ethylene biradicals

Electron spin echo modulation effects have been investigated in trans bis(2,2,5,5-tetramethyl-3-imidazoline-3-oxide-1-oxyl-4-il) ethylene biradicals involving ¹⁴N or ¹⁵N nuclei in different positions. The modulation frequencies are shown to be the nitrogen nuclear transition frequencies in radical fragments at m_S = 0 of a triplet electronic spin. Quadrupole splitting parameters for these nitrogen nuclei have been determined.     

Cycloaddition of fluorinated oxazoles

Cycloaddition reactions of polyfluorinated 1,3-oxazoles with cyclic and acyclic alkenes were studied. The results of these reactions were interpreted using quantum chemical calculations. An unusual product, viz., fluorine-containing acylpyrrole, was studied by X-ray diffraction. Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. Amination of isomeric bromo-1-methylnitropyrazoles

A method was developed for the synthesis of 5-bromo-1-methyl-4-nitropyrazole from 1-methylpyrazole. In the reaction with 25% aqueous ammonia at 180–190 °C, 5-bromo-1-methyl-4-nitropyrazole is readily converted to 5-amino-1-methyl-4-nitropyrazole; the production of 4-amino-1-methyl-5-nitropyrazole from 4-bromo-1-methyl-5-nitropyrazole requires the presence of a copper catalyst; under the same conditions in the amination of 4-bromo-1-methyl-3-nitropyrazole, 4-amino-1-methyl-3-nitro- and 1-methyl-3-nitropyrazoles are formed in a 23 ratio.Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 12, pp. 1672–1675, December, 1983.
