Remarks on Complex Symmetric Operators

An operator \({T\in{\mathcal{L}}({\mathcal{H}})}\) is said to be complex symmetric if there exists a conjugation C on \({{\mathcal H}}\) such that \({T= CT^{\ast}C}\). In this paper, we study the spectral radius algebras for complex symmetric operators. In particular, we prove that if A is a complex symmetric operator, then the spectral radius algebra \({{\mathcal B}_{A}}\) associated with A has a nontrivial invariant subspace under some conditions. Finally, we give some relations between \({P_{\tilde{A}}}\) and \({P_{\widetilde{A^{\ast}}}}\) (defined below) when A is complex symmetric.     

Fekete-Szegö problem for close-to-convex functions with respect to a certain convex function dependent on a real parameter

Given α ∈ [0, 1], let h _α (z):= z/(1 - αz), z ∈ D:= {z ∈ D: |z| < 1}. An analytic standardly normalized function f in D is called close-to-convex with respect to h _α if there exists δ ∈ (-π/2, π/2) such that Re{e^iδ zf′(z)/h _α (z)} > 0, z ∈ D. For the class ? (h _α ) of all close-to-convex functions with respect to h _α , the Fekete-Szegö problem is studied.     

On the Dilation of Truncated Toeplitz Operators

An operator \(S_{\varphi ,\psi }^{u}\in \mathcal {L}(L^2)\) is called the dilation of a truncated Toeplitz operator if for two symbols \(\varphi ,\psi \in L^{\infty }\) and an inner function u,

$$\begin{aligned} S_{\varphi ,\psi }^{u}f=\varphi P_uf+\psi Q_uf \end{aligned}$$

holds for \(f\in {L}^{2}\) where \(P_{u}\) denotes the orthogonal projection of \(L^2\) onto the model space \(\mathcal { K}_{u}^2=H^2{\ominus }{{u}H^2}\) and \(Q_u=I-P_u.\) In this paper, we study properties of the dilation of truncated Toeplitz operators on \(L^{2}\). In particular, we provide conditions for the dilation of truncated Toeplitz operators to be normal. As some applications, we give several examples of such operators.

     

Higher regularity for free boundary and tangential derivative problems and global solutions to regular reflections for the unsteady transonic small disturbance (UTSD) equations

We establish C^2,α$C^{2,\alpha }$-estimates for solutions of a class of quasilinear elliptic equations with free boundary and tangential derivative boundary problems. Using this regularity result we show the existence of global solutions to regular shock reflections for the unsteady transonic small disturbance (UTSD) equation. We also present Lipschitz estimates near the degenerate Dirichlet boundary (the sonic boundary) for the UTSD equation.     

Misalignment tolerance analysis and fabrication for highly efficient parallel optical-electrical convertor module

A compact, highly efficient, and passively assembled parallel optical-electrical convertor module (POECM) for active optical cable application is proposed. This paper presents our POECM structure, optical design simulation results, fabrication process, and data transmission test results, in sequence. The POECM has a compact size of \(18.5\hbox {mm} \times 10\hbox {mm} \times 2.8\hbox {mm}\) . We confirm a data rate of total throughput at 21.6 Gbps ( \(5.4\hbox {Gbps} \times 4\) channels) with a bit error rate of less than \(10^{-12}\) .     

Cobalt Based Nanoparticles Embedded Reduced Graphene Oxide Aerogel for Hydrogen Evolution Electrocatalyst

Efficient water electrolysis catalyst is highly demanded for the production of hydrogen as a sustainable energy fuel. It is reported that cobalt derived nanoparticle (CoS₂, CoP, CoS|P) decorated reduced graphene oxide (rGO) composite aerogel catalysts for highly active and reliable hydrogen evolution reaction electrocatalysts. 7 nm level cobalt derived nanoparticles are synthesized over graphene aerogel surfaces with excellent surface coverage and maximal expose of active sites. CoS|P/rGO hybrid aerogel composites show an excellent catalytic activity with overpotential of ≈169 mV at a current density of ≈10 mA cm^?2. Accordingly, efficient charge transfer is attained with Tafel slope of ≈52 mV dec^?1 and a charge transfer resistance (R_ct) of ≈12 Ω. This work suggests a viable route toward ultrasmall, uniform nanoparticles decorated graphene surfaces with well‐controlled chemical compositions, which can be generally useful for various applications commonly requiring large exposure of active surface area as well as robust interparticle charger transfer.
