We show that any graph, in the sequence given by Haagerup in 1991 as that of candidates of principal graphs of subfactors, is not realized as a principal graph except for the smallest two. A series of sulfonated polyimide (SPI) copolymers containing methyl, methoxy, or fluorine groups were synthesized to elucidate the substituents effect on their proton conducting properties as well as thermal, hydrolytic, and oxidative stability for polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell applications. SPIs of high molecular weight (Mw > 200 kDa, Mn > 80 kDa) along with the ion exchange capacity (IEC) varying between 1.34 and 1.91 mequiv/g were obtained, which gave tough, ductile, and flexible membranes by solution casting. The thermal properties of the SPIs were dominated by the electronic structure of the sulfonated aromatic rings. The electron‐donating methyl groups lowered the thermal decomposition temperature. The hydrolytic and oxidative stability was roughly in the order of IEC (the higher IEC membranes were less stable). Fluorine groups, either as ? F or ? CF3, had negative effect on the hydrolytic and oxidative stability. In the water uptake and proton conductivity, hydrophobic components are rather more influential than the substituents. It was found out that the SPI(5, 8, 0.7) containing bis(phenoxy)biphenylene sulfone moieties as a rigid hydrophobic component showed the best balanced properties in terms of the stability and the proton conductivity for its rather low IEC. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. An efficient and practical method for the preparation of benzyloxyacetic acids is described. The procedure involves the reaction of readily available chloroacetic acid with benzyl alcohol in the presence of powdered KOH providing a safer alternative to the known literature procedures, which completely eliminates the use of pyrophoric bases such as sodium hydride and sodium metal.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a genetic algorithm‐based wavelength selection (GAWLS) method for visible and near‐infrared (Vis/NIR) spectral calibration. The objective of GAWLS is to construct robust and predictive regression models by selecting informative wavelength regions. To demonstrate the ability of the proposed method, regression models for soil properties and sugar content of apples are constructed by using GAWLS and other variable selection methods. The composition of the adsorbed film and the excess Gibbs energy of adsorption $ {\widehat{g}}^{\mathrm{H},\mathrm{E}} $ were evaluated from thermodynamic analysis of surface tensions for the 1-decyl-3-methylimidazoulium bromide (C10mimBr)–tetraethylene glycol monooctyl ether (C8E4) and 1-decyl-3-methyl-imidazolium tetrafluorobrorate (C10mimBF4)–C8E4 systems, where the counter anion of imidazolium salts is different from each other. The higher miscibility of two components compared to an ideal mixing and thus negative $ {\widehat{g}}^{\mathrm{H},\mathrm{E}} $ were observed in the former, which comes from the ion–dipole interaction between imidazolium cation and the oxyethylene group of C8E4. On the other hand, the lower miscibility and thus positive $ {\widehat{g}}^{\mathrm{H},\mathrm{E}} $ were observed for the latter. Such differences were attributed to that BF4 ? forms two hydrogen bonds and has stronger affinity with the cationic head group of C10mim+ than Br?. This results in that the ion–dipole interaction between C8E4 and C10mim+ cation is diminished in the C10mimBF4–C8E4 system.  相似文献

Random copolymerizations of L ‐lactide with (R)‐, (S)‐, or rac‐1‐methyltrimethylene carbonate with bis(pentamethylcyclopentadienyl) samarium‐methyl tetrahydrofuranate [(C5Me5)2SmMe(THF)] as a novel initiator provided high molecular weight polymers with low polydispersities. Biodegradation of the resulting polymers with tricine and {N‐[tris(hydroxymethyl)methyl]‐2‐aminoethane sulfonic acid (TES) buffers as well as activated sludge showed only a small weight loss, whereas the polymer with proteinase K revealed high biodegradability independent of the optical activity of 1‐methyltrimethylene carbonate. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Recent experiments on the addition of alkene and alkyne molecules to H-terminated silicon surfaces have provided evidence for a surface chain reaction initiated at isolated Si dangling bonds and involving an intermediate carbon radical state, which, after abstraction of a hydrogen atom from a neighboring Si-H unit, transforms into a stable adsorbed species plus a new Si dangling bond. Using periodic density functional theory (DFT) calculations, together with an efficient method for determining reaction pathways, we have studied the initial steps of this chain reaction for a few different terminal alkynes and alkenes interacting with an isolated Si dangling bond on an otherwise H-saturated Si(111) surface. Calculated minimum energy pathways (MEPs) indicate that the chain mechanism is viable in the case of C(2)H(2), whereas for C(2)H(4) the stabilization of the intermediate state is so small and the barrier for H-abstraction so (relatively) large that the molecule is more likely to desorb than to form a stable adsorbed species. For phenylacetylene and styrene, stabilization of the intermediate state and decrease of the H-abstraction barrier take place. While a stable adsorbed species exists in both cases, the overall heat of adsorption is larger for the alkyne molecules.  相似文献

The magnesium-butadiene 1 : 1 (1), 1 : 2 (II) and 1 : 3 addition compounds obtained by the direct metalation of butadiene with metallic magnesium were isolated. These compounds have a polymeric structure. Structural analysis of these compounds by NMR and IR methods was carried out. The process for the formation of II via I and III via II was investigated. The results of protolysis and alkylation of the above magnesium compounds corresponded well to those of crotylmagnesium compounds.  相似文献

Photon-upconversion in organic molecular systems is one of the promising technologies for future energy harvesting systems because these systems can generate excitons that possess higher energy than excitation energy. The photon-upconversion caused by absorbing ambient heat as additional energy is particularly interesting because it could ideally provide a light-driving cooling system. However, only a few organic molecular systems have been reported. Here, we report the anti-Stokes photoluminescence (ASPL) derived from hot-band absorption in a series of multi-resonance-type thermally-activated delayed fluorescence (MR-TADF) molecules. The MR-TADF molecules exhibited an anti-Stokes shift of approximately 0.1 eV with a high PL quantum yield in the solution state. The anti-Stokes shift corresponded well to the 1–0 vibration transition from the ground state to the excited singlet state, and we further evaluated a correlation between the activation energy for the ASPL intensity and the TADF process. Our demonstration underlines that MR-TADF molecules have become a novel class of ASPL materials for various future applications, such as light-driving cooling systems.  相似文献
