The rotational spectrum of the deuterated isopropanol (CH(3))(2)CHOD has been observed by Fourier transform microwave spectroscopy and analyzed to yield tunneling splitting of 4431.4613 (17) MHz, between the antisymmetric and the symmetric gauche forms, which is much larger than the 2400 MHz estimated from the internal-rotation potential function reported in the literature. The potential function for the OH internal rotation has been examined in view of the discrepancy between the observed and estimated tunneling splitting, and it was accounted for by taking into account isotope effects on the potential constants. The deuterium quadrupole coupling effect has been included together with the Coriolis terms in the off-diagonal block of the Hamiltonian matrix for the gauche form. The deuterium quadrupole coupling constants obtained for the trans form were employed to calculate the components of the coupling constants as functions of the internal-rotation angle, and the components at around 120 degrees were compared with the values observed for the gauche form, thereby leading to unambiguous determination of the signs of the constants in the off-diagonal block; the signs are not obtainable from an ordinary analysis of the rotational spectra. An approach to deduce the mechanism of stabilization of the hybrid-derived populations in the Ohomopterus ground beetles has been made by comparative studies on the phylogenetic trees of the mitochondrial and nuclear DNA. A phylogenetic tree based on the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) of nuclear ribosomal gene roughly reflects the relations of morphological species group, while mitochondrial NADH dehydrogenase subunit 5 (ND5) gene shows a considerable different topology on the tree; there exist several geographically-linked lineages, most of which consist of more than one species. These results suggest that the replacement of mitochondria has occurred widely in the Ohomopterus species. In most cases, hybridization is unidirectional, i.e., the species A (♂) hybridized with another species B (♀) and not vice versa, with accompanied replacement of mitochondria of A by those of B. The results also suggest that partial or complete occupation of the distribution territory by a hybrid-derived morphological species. The morphological appearance of the resultant hybrid-derivatives are recognized as that of the original species A. We report the measurements of the heat capacity of (4)He confined in nanoporous Gelsil glass that has nanopores of 2.5-nm diameter at pressures up to 5.3 MPa. The heat capacity has a broad peak at a temperature much higher than the superfluid transition temperature obtained using the torsional oscillator technique. The peak provides definite thermodynamic evidence for the formation of localized Bose-Einstein condensates on nanometer length scales. The temperature dependence of the heat capacity is described well by the excitations of phonons and rotons, supporting the existence of localized Bose-Einstein condensates. 相似文献

The reversible addition of olefins to a phosphanylalumane, P−Al single-bond species, was investigated. The P−Al bond added to ethylene and relatively small terminal alkenes (propylene and hex-1-ene) at room temperature to give the corresponding alkene adducts. Heating the terminal alkene adducts released the corresponding alkenes and regenerated the P−Al bond, but no release of ethylene was observed even under vacuum conditions. The reactivity of ethylene adduct as a new saturated C2 vicinal P/Al-based FLP was also investigated. The ethylene adduct was found to undergo complexation with nitriles to give the corresponding nitrile adducts to the Al center, which retained the ethylene tether as in the case of the corresponding P/B-based FLP. A novel use of GaAs, namely, as a scaffold for a heterogeneous palladium catalyst, is proposed. Hydroxy groups on the GaAs surface play important roles. During the adsorption of Pd(OAc)(2) on the GaAs surface, the hydroxy groups attract Pd(ii) species by anion exchange. A subsequent redox reaction proceeds to generate Pd(0) nanoparticles, which are stabilized on the GaAs surface. This process is confirmed by surface-sensitive measurements: diffuse reflection IR spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Moreover, a more bulk-sensitive measurement, hard X-ray photoemission spectroscopy with synchrotron radiation, also supported our considerations. The amounts of Pd(0) nanoparticles on the surface were evaluated by catalytic activity, yield, and recyclability in the Heck reaction, in addition to the deposit test. 相似文献

Ionization dynamics of acetone and its dimer in supersonic jets is investigated by a combination of experimental and theoretical techniques, both of which have recently been developed. In experiments, the neutral and the cationic structures are explored by infrared predissociation spectroscopy with the vacuum-ultraviolet photoionization detection schemes. Reaction paths following the one-photon ionization of the acetone monomer and its dimer have been studied by the joint use of several theoretical methods including the ab initio molecular dynamics, the global reaction route mapping, the intrinsic reaction coordinate, and the artificial force induced reaction calculations. Upon one-photon ionization, the dimer isomerizes to the H-bonded form, in which the enol cation of acetone is bound to the neutral molecule, while this enolization is energetically forbidden in the acetone monomer. The enolization of the dimer cation occurs through a two-step proton-transfer from the methyl group of the ionized moiety, and is catalyzed by the neutral moiety within the dimer cation. 相似文献

Copolymers of N-pentafluorophenyl maleimide (PFPMI) with methyl methacrylate (MMA) were synthesized by a free radical initiator, such as AIBN. The refractive indexes of the copolymers remained nearly constant (1.4970 at 532 nm) regardless of the polymer composition. These copolymers also showed high thermal stability. The orientational and photoelastic birefringence of the copolymers obtained were measured. Since both of the orientational and photoelastic birefringences of PMMA are negative whereas poly(PFPMI) exhibits positive, thus we have obtained nearly zero orientational and photoelastic birefringence polymers when the ratios of MMA/PFPMI were 91.8/8.2 and 97.0/3.0 mol%, respectively. Based on the experimental data, the ratios of MMA/PFPMI for zero birefringence were determined to be 88.9/11.1 and 93.8/6.2 mol% for orientational and photoelastic birefringence, respectively. Copolymerizations of hexafluoroisobutylene (HFIB) with vinyl pentafluorobenzoate (VPFB) and vinyl trifluoroacetate (VTFA) were carried out in bulk using perfluorodibenzoyl peroxide as the radical initiator. The copolymers obtained were characterized by proton and fluorine NMR spectroscopy. The monomer reactivity ratios in the polymerization of HFIB with VPFB were r1 (HFIB) = 0, r2 (VPFB) = 0.373, and r1r2 = 0. The results indicated that these copolymers have alternating structures. Similarly, the copolymers of HFIB and VTFA also showed alternating structures. The films of HFIB‐co‐VPFB were prepared by casting THF solution of polymers. Films obtained were flexible and transparent. The refractive indices of copolymers were 1.4549, 1.4490, and 1.4438 at 532, 633, and 839 nm, respectively. The average Tgs of HFIB‐co‐VTFA and HFIB‐co‐VPFB were 52 and 71 °C, respectively. From these results, the Tg of the hypothetical HFIB homopolymer is postulated to be in between 70 and 90 °C, which may be useful in the assessment of Tgs of HFIB copolymers with other vinyl monomers. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
