Electronic excited states, electronic absorption, and magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) spectra of free-base tetraazaporphyrin (TAP), phthalocyanine (Pc), naphthalocyanine (Nc), and anthracocyanine (Ac) were studied by quantum chemical calculations using the symmetry-adapted cluster-configuration interaction (SAC-CI) method. Not only optically allowed states including the Q- and B-bands but also optically forbidden states were calculated for transitions whose excitation energies were lower than 4.5 eV. The present SAC-CI calculations consistently assigned the absorption and MCD peaks as optically allowed π→π(?) excitations, although these calculations using double-zeta basis limit quantitative agreement and discussion. For Nc and Ac, excited states beyond the four-orbital model appeared in the low-energy region. The low-energy shifts of the Q-bands with the extension of molecular size were explained by the orbital energies. The splitting of the Q-bands decreases with extension of the molecular size. This feature was reproduced by the SAC-CI calculations but the configuration interaction with single excitations and time-dependent density functional theory calculations failed to reproduce this trend. Electron correlation in the excited states is important in reproducing this splitting of the Q-bands and in describing the energy difference between the B(2u) and B(3u) states of free-base porphyrins.  相似文献

The ground state structure for the CCCCCl radical was computed by using symmetry-adapted cluster configuration-interaction (SAC-CI) theory along with density functional theory to overcome the differences raised in the recently published paper [Y. Sumiyoshi et al., Chem. Phys. Lett. 414, 82 (2005)] between the theory and the experiment. SAC-CI results clearly support the earlier experimental conclusion that the radical has the bent ground state structure corresponding to 2Pi symmetry. Contrarily, probably due to spin contamination, mixing of a bent doublet ground state with the quartet components of a linear structure, coupled-cluster singles and doubles (CCSD) calculations were unable to provide reliable results. Results obtained using density functional theory also show that the radical has a bent structure. Some low-lying doublet excited states were also studied using the SAC-CI theory. The energy difference between the ground Pi state and the nearby Sigma state is around 0.2 eV. The excitation energy for the transition with the largest oscillator strength agrees with the strongest absorption peak.  相似文献

Brine shrimp lethality test (BST)-guided fractionation of a methanol extract of the roots of Melia azedarach resulted in the isolation of two new limonoids, 9alpha-hydroxy-12alpha-acetoxyfraxinellone (1) and 7,14-epoxy-azedarachin B (2), together with the known compounds, 12alpha-hydroxyfraxinellone (4), 9alpha-hydroxyfraxinellone (5), azedarachin B (6), and neoazedarachin B (7). The structures of 1 and 2 were elucidated by analysis of spectroscopic data and comparison of their NMR data with those of the known compounds. Compounds 1, 2 and 4-7 exhibited significant activity in the BST, in particular, azedarachin B (6) showed remarkable BST activity with an LC(50) value of 0.0098 microM.  相似文献

The vertical absorption spectrum and photodissociation mechanism of vinyl chloride (VC) were studied by using symmetry-adapted cluster configuration interaction theory. The important vertical pi --> pi* excitation was intensively examined with various basis sets up to aug-cc-pVTZ augmented with appropriate Rydberg functions. The excitation energy for pi --> pi* transition obtained in the present study, 6.96 eV, agrees well with the experimental value, 6.7-6.9 eV. Calculated excitation energies along with the oscillator strengths clarify that the main excitation in VC is the pi --> pi* excitation. Contrary to the earlier theoretical reports, the results obtained here support that the C-Cl bond dissociation takes place through the n(Cl-)sigma(C-Cl)* state.  相似文献

A stereocontrolled route via allyl 1,2-diols to vicinal diamines based on the [3.3] sigmatropic rearrangement of allyl cyanate has been developed. Our approach consists of two consecutive steps: stereoselective construction of allyl anti- and syn-1,2-diols followed by [1,3]-chirality transfer by sigmatropic rearrangement, which allow an access to anti-(2R,3R)- and syn-(2R,3S)-2,3-diaminobutanoic acids. Energies of the hollow molecules CH(4)(2+) and NH(3)(2+) with double vacancies in the 1s shells have been measured using an efficient coincidence technique combined with synchrotron radiation. The energies of these states have been determined accurately by high level electronic structure calculations and can be well understood on the basis of a simple theoretical model. Their major decay pathway, successive Auger emissions, leads first to a new form of triply charged ion with a core hole and two valence vacancies; experimental evidence for such a state is presented with its theoretical interpretation. Preedge 2-hole-1-particle (2h-1p) states at energies below the double core-hole states are located in the same experiments and their decay pathways are also identified.  相似文献

Efficient synthesis of honokiol (1) was accomplished using two kinds of Suzuki–Miyaura reactions. The first Suzuki–Miyaura reaction was employed to couple 2-bromophenol (6) with 4-hydroxyphenylboronic acid (5), giving rise to biphenol 4, and the second coupling was used to introduce allyl groups at 5- and 3′-positions of honokiol. The total synthesis of 1 was completed in 74% yield over five steps from 6, or in 83% yield over four steps from biphenol 4.  相似文献

In low-coherence reflectometry, the light scattered back from a scattering medium is expected to carry information about the spectral properties of the medium as well as range information about the reflective boundaries and backscattering sites. We built and evaluated a white-light interferometry system that gives the range and spectral information about the medium using the white-light continuum. The white-light continuum gives an extremely bright and broad spectrum. Experimental results on multi-layered media are presented.  相似文献
