The synthesis, structures, and optical and electrochemical properties of meso-phosphorylporphyrins are described. The copper-catalyzed carbon-phosphorus cross-coupling reaction of a meso-iodoporphyrin with di-n-butyl phosphite and diphenylphosphane oxide has proved to be an efficient and general method for the synthesis of meso-phosphorylporphyrins. Zinc phosphorylporphyrins thus obtained readily undergo self-organization through P-oxo-Zn coordination to form noncovalently linked, cofacial porphyrin dimers or linear oligomers, which have been characterized by spectroscopic methods and X-ray crystallographic analyses. In toluene, CH(2)Cl(2), and CHCl(3), the zinc phosphorylporphyrins exist mostly as dimers or monomers, depending on their concentrations, the temperature, and the presence of additives. The self-association constants for dimerization in toluene have been determined by UV/Vis absorption titration measurements. The meso-diphenylphosphorylporphyrin dimer displays excitonic coupling of the Soret band with a splitting energy of 940 cm(-1). Fluorescence lifetimes of the zinc phosphorylporphyrins have been found to be affected only slightly by the concentration of the solution, and by the addition of triphenylphosphane oxide, suggesting that the effect of dimerization on their photodynamics in the S(1) state is negligible. On the other hand, the effect of dimerization is clearly reflected in their electrochemical oxidation processes, as the initially produced radical cations are efficiently delocalized over the two porphyrin rings. These findings demonstrate the potential utility of meso-phosphorylporphyrins as new models for the special pair in photosynthesis and as new building blocks for porphyrin-based supramolecular materials.  相似文献

Cytotoxicity-guided fractionation of the 80% EtOH extract of Tithonia diversifolia has resulted in the isolation of twelve sesquiterpenoids (1-12), including three new ones (4, 10, 12), and three known flavonoids (13-15). The structures of the new compounds were determined by analysis of their spectroscopic data. The isolated compounds showed cytotoxic activity against HL-60 leukemia cells with IC(50) values ranging from 0.13 to 13.0 microM, when etoposide used as a positive control gave an IC(50) value of 0.43 microM. The cancer growth inhibitory property of 9, the main cytotoxic compound in T. diversifolia, was examined using a disease-oriented panel composed of 39 human cancer cell lines in the Japanese Foundation for Cancer Research.  相似文献

The total synthesis of borrelidin has been achieved. The best feature of our synthetic route is macrocyclization at C11-C12 for the construction of an 18-membered ring after esterification between two segments. A detailed examination of the macrocyclization led us to the samarium(II) iodide-mediated intramolecular Reformatsky-type reaction as the most efficient synthetic approach. The two key segments were synthesized through regioselective methylation, directed hydrogenation, stereoselective Reformatsky-type reaction, and MgBr2.Et2O-mediated chelation-controlled allylation.  相似文献

The formation of self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) of adsorbed cationic or anionic surfactant molecules on atomically flat H-terminated Si(111) surfaces in aqueous solutions was investigated by in situ AFM measurements, using octyl trimethylammonium chloride (C8TAC), dodecyl trimethylammonium chloride (C12TAC), octadecyl trimethylammonium chloride (C18TAC)) sodium dodecyl sulfate (STS), and sodium tetradecyl sulfate (SDS). The adsorbed surfactant layer with well-ordered molecular arrangement was formed when the Si(111) surface was in contact with 1.0x10(-4) M C18TAC, whereas a slightly roughened layer was formed for 1.0x10(-4) M C8TAC and C12TAC. On the other hand, the addition of alcohols to solutions of 1.0x10(-4) M C8TAC, C12TAC, or SDS improved the molecular arrangement in the adsorbed surfactant layer. Similarly, the addition of a salt, KCl, also improved the molecular arrangement for both the cationic and anionic surfactant layers. Moreover, the adsorbed surfactant layer with a well-ordered structure was formed in a solution of mixed cationic (C12TAC) and anionic (SDS) surfactants, though each surfactant alone did not form the well-ordered layer. These results were all explained by taking into account electrostatic repulsion between ionic head groups of adsorbed surfactant molecules as well as hydrophobic interaction between their alkyl chains, which increases with the increasing chain length, together with the increase in the hydrophobic interaction or the decrease in the electrostatic repulsion by incorporating alcohol molecules into the adsorbed surfactant layer, the decrease in the electrostatic repulsion by increasing the concentration of counterions, and the decrease in the electrostatic repulsion by alternate arrangement of cationic and anionic surfactant molecules. The present results have revealed various factors to form the well-ordered adsorbed surfactant layers on the H-Si(111) surface, which have a possibility of realizing the third generation surfaces with flexible structures and functions easily adaptable to circumstances.  相似文献

The effects of surfactant mixing on interfacial tension and on microemulsion formation were examined for systems of air/water and water/supercritical CO2 (scCO2) interfaces and for water/scCO2 microemulsions. A fluorinated surfactant, sodium bis(1H,1H,2H,2H-heptadecafluorodecyl)-2-sulfosuccinate (8FS(EO)2), was mixed with the three hydrocarbon surfactants, Pluronic L31, Tergitol TMN-6, and decyltrimethylammonium chloride (DeTAC), at equimolar ratio. For all the cases, the interfacial tension was significantly lowered by the mixing. The positive synergistic effect suggests that the mixed surfactants tend to pack more closely on the interface than the pure constituents. It was found, however, that the microemulsion formation in scCO2 was never facilitated by the mixing, except for the case of TMN-6. This is probably due to the segregation of the surfactants into hydrocarbon-rich and fluorocarbon-rich phases on the microemulsion surface.  相似文献

The stability and decay of silver clusters characterized by absorption bands 320 and 285 nm incorporated in mordenites with different SiO2/Al2O3 molar ratios were studied under ambient conditions. Significantly different rates of disappearance of these two bands were the basis for assigning them to different silver species. Oxidation converts the clusters peaking at 320 and 285 nm into other silver clusters characterized by absorption bands at 310 and 240 nm, respectively. The oxidation of silver clusters peaking at 285 nm is significantly faster than that at 320 nm. The stability of both original clusters decreases with acid site strength that, in its turn, depends on Si02/Al2O3 molar ratio. The minimum lifetime of clusters peaking at 320 and 285 nm equal to ca. 40 and 20 days, respectively, was observed for mordenite characterized by the strongest acid sites. For mordenites possessing weaker acid sites, the lifetime of these clusters is found to be more than 50 months. The oxidation of silver clusters is reversible, and re-reduced silver clusters were revealed to possess the same electron structure as original ones.  相似文献

The specific interactions between lectins and chitosan–sugar hybrids, the synthesized chitosan derivatives linking carbohydrate residue to the amino group of chitosan, were investigated. The specific bindings of chitosan‐L ‐fucose (Fuc) hybrid with Ulex europaeus agglutinin I (UEA I, a lectin specific to L ‐Fuc), and chitosan‐N‐acetyl‐D ‐glucosamine (D ‐GlcNAc) hybrid with Concanavalin A (Con A, a lectin specific to D ‐glucose, D ‐mannose and D ‐GlcNAc), were confirmed by a surface plasmon resonance technique. The microscopic observation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which was preincubated with the fluorescein isothiocyanate‐labeled chitosan‐L ‐Fuc hybrid, showed bacteria aggregation. The aggregation was thought to be resulted from the specific interaction of the L ‐Fuc residue of the hybrid with PA‐II lectin on the surface of P. aeruginosa. The chitosan‐L ‐Fuc hybrid inhibited P. aeruginosa growth more effectively in comparison with the other hybrids or unmodified chitosan. The enhancement of antimicrobial activity of chitosan‐L ‐Fuc hybrid could be attributed to the specific binding between PA‐II lectin of P. aeruginosa and L ‐Fuc residue of the L ‐Fuc hybrid. A novel cholestane diglycoside, named candicanoside A ( 1 ), was isolated from the bulbs of Galtonia candicans by monitoring the cytotoxic activity on HL‐60 leukemia cells. Candicanoside A ( 1 ) is very unique in structure, having two epoxy functionalities in its rearranged cholestane skeleton, and showed differential cytotoxicity in the Japanese Foundation for Cancer Research 38 cell‐line assay.  相似文献
