On the Hartree-Fock approximation to the electronic structure of molecule in the intense radiation field and the strong vibronic coupling

The Hartree-Fock approximation has been generalized to incorporate the nonadiabatic effect of molecular vibration previously by Tachibana et al. Here, we will derive the Hartree-Fock equation which reflects also the nonlinear effect of the infrared radiation field as well by using the Bloch-Nordsieck transformation which was discussed first by Nguyen-Dang and Bandrauk in the field of molecular physics. The Hartree-Fock equation reflects the non-adiabatic coupling between an electron and a molecular vibration and between the electron and a infrared radiation fields. The infrared radiation field also affects the dynamics of nuclear motion.Dedicated to Professor J. Koutecký on the occasion of his 65th birthday     

An exact zooming method

This paper presents an efficient and exact formulation for finding stress concentration factors using a zooming analysis. A favorable characteristics of this method is its ability to perform a zooming analysis with computations taking place only in the zooming area under consideration with no need to treat the region outside the zooming area. At the final zooming step, the flexibility of a limited zooming area is determined for all nodes, including the new nodes created in the zooming processes as well as those of the original system before zooming.     

Relativistic effects of laser doppler velocimeters using one light beam with two frequencies

Relativistic effects of laser Doppler velocimeters (LDV's) are discussed and novel LDV systems are proposed. If the direction of the scattered light makes a right angle with the flow direction, relativistic effects completely disappear no matter how high the velocity of a moving particle becomes. The proposed LDV's involve that the velocity can be measured from one scattered light beam with two different single frequencies. It is also predicted that the usual optical heterodyne-detection techniques can be made applicable to measure even ultra-high velocities up to the region where relativistic effects should be taken into account.     

Structure and synthesis of unsaturaded trihydroxy c18 fatty : Acids in rice plants suffering from rice blast disease

Structural elucidation including the absolute configuration was carried out on the trihydroxy C₁₈ -fatty acids isolated from rice plant, Sasanishiki suffered from rice blast disease.     

Structure in the emission from pyrene evaporated films

Emission spectra and decay times of fluorescence of pyrene thin films prepared by evaporation onto substrates at liquid nitrogen temperature were measured. Structure in the emission from films warmed slowly up to higher temperature is found to the higher energy side of the excimer emission band. The decay time is about 410 ns at temperatures between 110 K and 210 K. But the emission from the film warmed up to a temperature above 210 K shows only the excimer emission. These results are discussed in relation to an amorphous structure in the pyrene evaporated thin film.
