The viewing areas of stereoscopic full-color light emitting diode (LED) displays using parallax barriers are investigated for viewing by observers with different interpupillary distances. We have developed stereoscopic full-color LED displays using three types of parallax barriers for different interpupillary distances. Experiments on distance perception of stereoscopic targets have been conducted with the stereoscopic LED displays using parallax barriers, as well as a stereoscopic LED display using polarizing eyewear. It was shown that enlargement of the viewing area allows several viewers with different interpupillary distances to view a stereoscopic image. It is suggested that parallax barriers designed for narrower interpupillary distances than the viewer’s own provide a viewer with stereoscopic perception. 相似文献

Manipulation of biomacromolecules is ideally achieved through unique and bioorthogonal chemical reactions of genetically encoded, naturally occurring functional groups. The toolkit of methods for site‐specific conjugation is limited by selectivity concerns and a dearth of naturally occurring functional groups with orthogonal reactivity. We report that pyroglutamate amide N?H bonds exhibit bioorthogonal copper‐catalyzed Chan–Lam coupling at pyroglutamate‐histidine dipeptide sequences. The pyroglutamate residue is readily incorporated into proteins of interest by natural enzymatic pathways, allowing specific bioconjugation at a minimalist dipeptide tag. 相似文献

Metal‐based bioconjugation linkages represent a little‐studied approach to protein functionalization that provides novel reactivity, stability, and function. Described is an organometallic bioconjugation, employing rhodium(III) salts, to link boronic acids with tyrosine residues by an arene complex. Both peptides and proteins are amenable to the mild bioconjugation in aqueous media, allowing incorporation of useful functionalities, such as affinity handles or fluorophores. Because of the metastability of the inorganic linkage, the conjugates are susceptible to cleavage by nucleophilic redox mediators but are stable toward typical biological conditions. 相似文献

The stability and conformational changes of cytochrome c (cyt c) at different temperatures and pH have been well examined so far by using various analytical methods. We have found that laser spray mass spectrometry enables much faster and more convenient monitoring of those changes of cyt c compared with other methods. The results correlated well with circular dichroism (CD) experiments under relatively acidic conditions, which destabilize the protein. Laser spray mass spectra of cyt c at various pH were obtained at different levels of laser power. Bimodal charge-state distributions of the protein were observed in laser spray mass spectra, indicating the two-state model of structural change; the lower charges correspond to the folded state, the higher charges to the unfolded state. Based on this result, the presumed denaturation curve of the protein was plotted as a function of laser power, and laser power by which 50% of the protein was assumed to be denatured, E50%, as obtained at each pH. We also examined the melting temperatures, Tm, of cyt c at various values of pH by using CD spectroscopy. The correlation coefficient between E50% and Tm for cyt c was 0.999, demonstrating an excellent correlation. Furthermore, laser spray analysis of ubiquitin, which is found to be more thermally stable than cyt c, gave a higher E50% than cyt c. These results indicate that laser spray mass spectrometry can be an extremely convenient method for probing thermal stabilities and dynamic conformational changes of proteins with subtle structural differences caused by slight changes in pH. 相似文献

Improvement of protein-compound docking scores by using amino-acid sequence similarities of proteins
The low accuracy of predicted docking scores is critical at in silico drug screening. In order to improve the accuracy of docking scores, we approximated the protein-compound binding free energy as a linear combination of the raw docking scores of a target compound with many different protein pockets. The coefficients of the linear combination were estimated by the similarities among proteins, simply by using the amino-acid sequence similarities or identities of the proteins. This method was applied to in silico screening of the active compounds of five target proteins, and it increased the hit ratio by approximately four to five times compared to that given only by the raw docking scores in every case. The hit ratio also became robust against differences of target proteins. 相似文献

We present an efficient numerical integration scheme (TWOCENT) to be used in the context of automatized parameterization of the density‐functional tight‐binding (DFTB) method. The accuracy of the integration process is assessed and its range of applicability is discussed. Spray coating method is a cost-effective technique suitable for the preparation of uniform and large-area thin films. This article presents findings on the preparation of dense electrolyte thin films by spray coating method. Dense, crack-free Gd-doped CeO2 (GDC) thin films with a thickness of approximately 2 µm were successfully prepared on porous NiO-GDC substrates. The influence of the dispersion of GDC nanopowders in susupension on the microstructure of the thin films was investigated. Results show that agglomeration of GDC nanopowders in suspension resulted in a porous microstructure and a densely packed microstructure was obtained for the film prepared from a well-dispersed suspension. 相似文献
