In this paper, we investigate numerically the characteristics of surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) sustained by two-dimensional arrays of metallic pillars protruding out of planar metal surfaces at terahertz (THz) frequencies. Various shapes of the pillars are analyzed, and it is shown that the pillar shape only has weak influence on the dispersion of spoof SPPs. However, the loss of spoof SPPs is closely dependent on the pillar shape. It is also shown that spoof SPPs on textured surfaces with pillars can exhibit much better confinement than those on pierced surfaces with holes. 相似文献

We demonstrate different operation states which can be switched by the polarization control in an erbium-doped fiber laser cavity with normal dispersion, including passive single-pulse and multiple-pulse mode-locking, coherent pulse pattern, and passive Q-switching. The mode-locked single pulse has a smooth and broad rectangular-shaped spectrum. With increasing pump power, multiple pulses appear and finally six pulses are observed, where the pulses have no interaction with each other. Keeping the pump power at 407 mW and adjusting the polarization state, we observe the coherent pulse pattern with the pulse numbers from 2 to 5. It is the first time five coherent pulses in the 1.55 μm normal dispersion cavity have been observed, to our knowledge. The mode-locked spectra are highly modulated and the largest pulse separation of 31.9 ps is observed for the two-pulse case. When the pump power exceeds 180 mW, the mode-locked operation can be switched to the passively Q-switched operation by controlling the polarization state. The repetition rate and pulse width can be changed by pump power variation, and the spectrum is tunable in the range of 8.45 nm. 相似文献

Considering Third-order Dispersion (TOD) and Stimulated Raman Scattering effect (SRS) simultaneously, the properties of the self-similar parabolic pulse evolution in a dispersion-decreasing optical fiber with normal group-velocity dispersion are firstly investigated in our paper. Our results show that parabolic pulses are distorted and the characteristic of exactly self-similarity will be lost due to the High-order effects. When only the TOD is taken into account, the chirp still reveals highly linear but glows into asymmetric which causes the waveform appearing optical wave breaking. When only considering SRS, the pulse still reveals highly linear chirp only linearity range narrow down, resulting in delaying the self-similar evolution. When considering SRS and TOD simultaneously, parabolic pulses are distorted less and the characteristic of exactly self-similarity will be better due to SRS effect than only considering TOD effect. The highly linear chirp in optical pulse still allows for efficient and high-quality pulse compression by use of dispersion compensation technique. 相似文献

We propose a scheme to derive the spectral dimension of inhomogeneous fractal lattice via renormalization procedure, in which the distribution of masses on the sites of fractals is introduced. The spectral dimension of diamond-type hierarchical lattice and Sierpinski gasket with b = 3 are re-investigated in this way. Moreover, the variants of Sierpinski gaskettype fractals are studied, the results show that the spectral dimension is independent of the details of internal structure of fractal, and thus implies the existence of universality. 本文报道合成了八种苯甲酸及其一氯代衍生物与邻菲罗啉或联吡啶的稀土铕三元配合物并测得了荧光光谱。通过改变第一和第二配体,研究了配合物发光峰强度、位置和分裂间隔等的变化情况,依据荧光发射峰的分裂推断出Eu~(3 )离子所处的局域环境对称性大致都是C_1,C_2或C_s。虽然配合物的局域对称性大致相同,但由于配体场作用和能级匹配等原因,发光峰位置和强度是不同的;讨论了第一配体分子结构的变化对荧光性能的影响,认为分子自身结构的对称性可能对提高配合物发光性能有较大影响;实验还观察到第二配体也参与配位且对发光性能影响较大。同时看到发光峰的分裂间隔大小变化和发光峰的相对强度的变化是一致的。 相似文献

Then we obtain the wavefunction of the space-time by solving the Wheeler-De Witt equation. De Broglie-Bohm interpretation applied to the wavefunction gives the quantum solution of the space-time. A fast automatic calibration system for a sound level meter in an anechoic environment has been developed. The precise and fast generation of the constant frequency-independent acoustic pressure field and reduction of digital voltmeter readout to sound pressure level were achieved by a newly designed software algorithm, assuming the system linearity.
