In both polymorphic forms, the molecule lies on a crystallographic centre of inversion (at the piperazine ring centroid) and exhibits an intramolecular O—H...N hydrogen bond. In the monoclinic polymorph (space group P21/c), the molecules are linked by intermolecular C—H...Cl hydrogen bonds into a ribbon sheet built from R88(34) rings. In the orthorhombic polymorph (space group Pbcn), the molecules are linked by intermolecular C—H...O hydrogen bonds into a ribbon sheet of R66(34) rings. O‐Methacryloyl‐N‐(tert‐butoxycarbonyl)‐β‐hydroxyaspartic acid dimethyl ester was synthesized by methyl esterification of β‐hydroxyaspartic acid, followed by protection of the amino group with the tert‐butoxycarbonyl group and then the reaction of the hydroxyl group with methacryloyl chloride. The monomer efficiently underwent radical polymerization to afford the corresponding polymer with a number‐average molecular weight of 42,000 in good yields. The alkaline hydrolysis of the polymer occurred not only at the methyl ester but also at the ester moiety between the main and side chains of the polymer. The methyl ester‐free polymer gradually released β‐hydroxyaspartic acid moiety in a phosphate buffer solution with pH = 7.3 and 7.8. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Development of porous materials capable of capturing volatile organic compounds (VOCs), such as benzene and its derivatives, with high efficiency, selectivity, and reusability is highly demanded. Here we report unusual vapor adsorption behavior toward VOCs by a new porous solid, composed of a polyaromatic capsule bearing a spherical nanocavity with subnano-sized windows. Without prior crystallization and high-temperature vacuum drying, the porous polyaromatic solid exhibits the following five features: vapor adsorption of benzene over cyclohexane with 90 % selectivity, high affinity toward o-xylene over benzene and toluene with >80 % selectivity, ortho-selective adsorption ability (>50 %) from mixed xylene isomers, tight VOCs storage even under high temperature and vacuum conditions, and at least 5 times reusability for xylene adsorption. The observed adsorption abilities are accomplished at ambient temperature and pressure within 1 h, which has not been demonstrated by organic/inorganic porous materials reported previously. 相似文献

Aggregates (80 nm) of sodalite nanocrystals with crystallite sizes ranging from 20 to 40 nm have been synthesized from a sodium aluminosilicate solution at low temperature, without adding any organic additives, while paying attention to the key factors for the synthesis of nanosized zeolite crystals. The physical properties of nanosized sodalite crystals were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, 29Si solid-state magic-angle spinning (MAS) NMR, and N2 adsorption. As expected, the external surface area of nanosized sodalite crystals is significantly increased compared with that of microsized sodalite crystals. The size of synthesized sodalite crystals can be controlled from 20 nm to 10 microm. It is found that the preparation of a homogeneous aluminosilicate solution followed by the formation of an aluminosilicate hard gel by adjusting the initial composition, for example, SiO2/Al2O3 and Na2O/H2O ratios, is critical for synthesis. 相似文献

High-density assemblies or superlattice structures composed of colloidal semiconductor nanocrystals have attracted attention as key materials for next-generation photoelectric conversion devices such as quantum-dot solar cells. In these nanocrystal solids, unique transport and optical phenomena occur due to quantum coupling of localized energy states, charge-carrier hopping, and electromagnetic interactions among closely arranged nanocrystals. In particular, the photoexcited carrier dynamics in nanocrystal solids is important because it significantly affects various device parameters. In this study, we report the photoexcited carrier dynamics in a solid film of CuInS2 nanocrystals, which is one of the potential nontoxic substitutes with Cd- and Pb-free compositions. Meanwhile, these subjects have been extensively studied in nanocrystal solids formed by CdSe and PbS systems. A carrier-hopping mechanism was confirmed using temperature-dependent photoluminescence spectroscopy, which yielded a typical value of the photoexcited carrier-transfer rate of (2.2±0.6)×107 s−1 by suppressing the influence of the excitation-energy transfer. 相似文献
