Abstract

Three kinds of betaine-type polymers, which are macromolecular amphoteric electrolytes, were found to be able to polymerize vinyl monomers in aqueous solution through a radical mechanism without any further initiator. Betain-type polymers form hydrophobic areas (HA) in water. Vinyl polymerization commenced in the HA. The effect of the pH of the aqueous solution on polymerization was investigated.  相似文献

Abstract

The polymerization of some kinds of vinyl monomer was found to occur without an ordinary initiator in aqueous solutions of AB-type block or random copolymers of sodium methacrylate with styrene as a so-called “uncatalyzed polymerization.” Although the spin trapping technique showed that the initiation mechanism by the block copolymer was the same as that by the random copolymer, the initiating ability of the block copolymer was lower than that of the random copolymer. Such results are attributable to the difference in the incorporating ability of monomer into the micelles formed by the block copolymer and into the hydrophobic areas formed by the random copolymer.  相似文献

A catalytic variant of the direct thiolation of arenes, bearing directing groups, with disulfides or thiols has been developed under palladium and copper co‐catalysis. Both sulfenyl moieties of the disulfide could be incorporated into the thiolated products, therefore, the reactions reached completion with only half an equivalent of disulfide, with respect to the starting arene. Experimental evidence suggested that the reaction proceeds through a PdII/PdIV mechanism.  相似文献

Borylative allyl–allyl coupling using allenes, bis(pinacolato)diboron, and allyl phosphates has been developed in the presence of a copper catalyst bearing an N‐heterocyclic carbene ligand. We developed an affinity chromatographic method for simple single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) detection by use of a single-stranded DNA-coupled column and temperature gradient elution, utilizing the difference in thermal stability between hybridized double-stranded DNAs with and without mismatched base-pairs in the course of temperature gradient elution. We studied experimentally and theoretically the elution behavior of DNAs with and without SNPs in this chromatography and proposed a numerical calculation method based on a thermodynamic dissociation model. The effects of the column volume, flow rate of eluent and heating rate of the column on elution profiles were clarified. For designing DNA ligands, mismatched base-pair positions favorable for detection of SNPs were also explored by use of hybridized DNAs coding a part of the human TP53 gene.  相似文献

The interactions between biologically important enzymes and drugs are of great interest. In order to address some aspects of these interactions we have initiated a program to investigate enzymedrug interactions. Specifically, the interactions between one of the isozymes of carbonic anhydrase and a family of drugs known as sulfonamides have been studied using computational methods. In particular the electrostatic free energy of binding of carbonic anhydrase II with acetazolamide, methazolamide,p-chlorobenzenesulfonamide,p-aminobenzenesulfonamide and three new compounds (MK1, MK2, and MK3) has been computed using finite-difference Poisson-Boltzmann (FDPB) [1] method and the semimacroscopic version [2, 3] of the protein dipole Langevin dipole (PDLD) method [4]. Both methods, FDPB and PDLD, give similar results for the electrostatic free energy of binding even though different charges and different treatments were used for the protein. The calculated electrostatic binding free energies are in reasonable agreement with the experimental data. The potential and the limitation of electrostatic models for studies of binding energies are discussed.  相似文献

Acid-catalyzed rearrangement of 5-cyclopentylidenecyclooctanone derivatives 9a-c was examined to obtain polyspiropolyquinanes 11a-c, considered to have a unique helical structure, through cascade rearrangement pathways consisting of continuous transannular cyclization followed by successive 1,2-alkyl shifts. The substrates were prepared easily by use of the Wittig or McMurry reaction. Reaction of the 5-cyclopentylidenecyclooctanone (9a) with acid gave the expected dispirotriquinane ketone 11a in high yield. The precise mechanism was elucidated by a deuterium-labeling experiment. In the case of the ketone 9b, having another spiroannulated cyclopentane ring attached on 9a, the trispirotetraquiane 11b was not obtained but the bis-propellane-type tetrahydrofuran 25 was produced exclusively. The 5-(5'-cyclopentylidenecyclooctylidene)cyclooctanone (9c) afforded the polycyclic compounds 27-31, depending on the acid used, instead of the desired tetraspiropentaquinane 11c. The structures of the products were determined by NMR spectral data including 2D (13)C INADEQUATE spectra and X-ray crystallographic analyses. The unexpected rearrangement pathways are also discussed.  相似文献
