In the past half a century, satellite laser communication has caught the attention of scientists due to its distinct advantages in comparison with conventional satellite microwave communication. For ground-to-satellite and satellite-to-ground data links, the atmosphere is a part of the communication channel; thus, atmospheric turbulence severely degrades the performance of satellite laser communication systems. In general, the Kolmogorov turbulence model is used to study the effect of atmosphere turbulence on satellite laser communications since it has been confirmed by numerous direct measurements of temperature and humidity fluctuations in the atmospheric boundary layer. However, increasing experimental evidence and theoretical investigations have shown that the Kolmogorov theory is sometimes inadequate to describe atmospheric statistics properly, in particular, in some domains of the atmosphere. We analyze the joint influence of Kolmogorov turbulence from the ground to 6 km and non-Kolmogorov turbulence above 6 km on the spot size associated with the uplink and downlink propagation channels for a satellite laser communication system in the geosynchronous orbit, using a power spectrum of non-Kolmogorov turbulence with power law ?5 that describes the refractiveindex fluctuations in the atmosphere above 6 km and considering the combined power spectrum of Kolmogorov and non-Kolmogorov turbulence. Before this analysis, we study the joint influence of the Kolmogorov turbulence from the ground to 6 km and non-Kolmogorov turbulence above 6 km on the scintillation indices of laser beams. 相似文献

We demonstrated continuous-wave (CW) and Q-switched operation of a Tm,Ho:YAP ring laser at 77 K. The maximum CW output power of 2 W at 2130.7 nm was obtained under the incident pump power of 12 W, corresponding to a slope efficiency of 23% and an optical-to-optical efficiency of 16.7%. For the Q-switched regime the maximum output energy of 5 mJ with the pulse width of 160 ns at the repetition rate of 100 Hz was achieved, corresponding to a peak power of 31.25 kW. 相似文献

We propose a semiconductor-graphene cylinder that can serve as a terahertz (THz) photonic crystal. In such a structure, graphene plays a role in achieving a strong mismatch of the dielectric constant at the semiconductor-graphene interface due to its two-dimensional nature and relatively low value of the dielectric constant. We find that when the radius of the outer semiconductor layer is about ρ(1)~100 μm, the frequencies of the photonic modes are within the THz bandwidth and they can be efficiently tuned via varying ρ(1). Furthermore, the dispersion relation of the photonic modes shows that a semiconductor-graphene cylinder is of excellent light transport properties, which can be utilized for the THz waveguide. The electronic structures and optical properties of N-doped, S-doped and N/S co-doped SrTiO3 have been investigated on the basis of density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Through band structure calculation, the top of the valence band is made up of the O 2p states for the pure SrTiO3. When N and S atoms were introduced into SrTiO3 lattice at O site, the electronic structure analysis shows that the doping of N and S atoms could substantially lower the band gap of SrTiO3 by the presence of an impurity state of N 2p on the upper edge of the valence band and S 2p states hybrid with O 2p states, respectively. When the N/S co-doped, the energy gap has further narrowing compared with only N or S doped SrTiO3. The calculations of optical properties also indicate a high photo response for visible light for N/S co-doped SrTiO3. Besides, we find a new impurity state which separates from the O 2p states could improve the photocatalytic efficiency and we also propose a model for light electron-hole transportation which can explain the experiment results well. All these conclusions are in agreement with the recent experimental results. 相似文献

The dielectric properties of near-stoichiometric LiNbO3:Fe and LiNbO3:Ce single crystals have been investigated using terahertz time domain spectroscopy in a frequency range of 0.7-1.6 THz at room temperature. When coupled with an applied external optical field, obvious photorefractive effects were observed, resulting in a modulation of the complex dielectric constant for the crystals. The variation in refractive index, |Δn|, had a linear relationship with the applied light intensity, accompanied by a step-like decrease at high intensity. The findings were attributed to the internal space charge field of the photorefraction and the light-induced domain reversal in the crystals. 相似文献

Using finite element method, we have made a theoretically study of the band structure of Lamb wave in a locally resonant phononic crystal strip waveguide with periodic soft rubber attached on the two sides of epoxy main plate. The numerical results show that the Lamb wave band gap based on local resonant mechanism can be opened up in the stub strip waveguides, and the width of the local resonant band gap is narrower than that based on the Bragg scattering mechanism. The results also show that the stub shape and width have influence on the frequency and width of the Lamb wave band gap. 相似文献
